ArlingtonGreat mountain getaway.
Left on 12/03/2012 for a stay in November 2012
The mountain chalet is a great mountain getaway for someone solo or a young couple. I specify young because the bed is in a loft that you access via a ladder so it could be tricky for someone older. Also it's relatively small so I wouldn't bring more than a couple and one child. Other than that the cabin is top notch and finished really well. The views of the mountains are incredible and it's a great place to go for some privacy and relaxation. I also really enjoyed the wood stove and it kept the place incredibly warm (actually got hot a few times) with the outside temps below 10 degrees. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a private getaway.

Iona, MNFirst Vacation in Seven Years!
Left on 08/14/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Our stay at the Mountain View Chalet was our first vacation since our honeymoon, seven years ago. With two small children at home, we were really excited to get away, and the Chalet did not disappoint! It is secluded, but conveniently located right in the middle of all the good stuff. The view is breathtaking, and the fact that it runs on solar power is just amazing to us. The Chalet was very comfortable and homey. When our last day arrived, I wanted to stay longer, and we will definitely discuss staying there again in the future. Thanks for such a wonderful vacation experience!

Madison, WisconsinSolitude with a view, a great getaway
Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My wife and I stayed at the Mountain View Chalet for 3 nights in august. The first thing you notice when you pull up is the spectacular view and the quietness of your surroundings. The cabin itself is off the grid, relying solely on solar power and gas for cooking. While eco-friendly, the cabin still contains most of the comforts urban visitors would expect including Wi-Fi and satellite TV. Being able to cook meals in a modern kitchen and eat outside while the hummingbirds buzzed around us was the perfect end to each day. While the amenities inside the cabin were great, it was our location that was the best part. The cabin served as a great base camp to several areas including Longs Peak & Rocky Mountain National Park (1 hour), Indian Peaks Wilderness area (30 minutes), and town of Nederland (10 minutes). After a long day of hiking, the area just out the front door provided a hammock and a mountain breeze.
If I had to identify an issue, the only one was that sleeping in the lofted bedroom during the month of august was uncomfortably warm (even with the skylight and ceiling fan on). The cabin does have a futon in the living room area that provided a secondary sleeping option. -

The Chalet is what happens when good folks put their heart, soul, artistry and skill into a project - and then decide to share the amazing result of their efforts with others. The Chalet is a perfect balance of humble rustic charm and unpretentious luxurious comfort. Their attention to detail is everywhere you look and the environment surrounding this sweet shelter is nothing short of awe inspiring and pristine. If your desire is to find peace, bask in the gift of a solitary natural surrounding, feel like you're camping without necessarily having to rough it (as opposed to feeling out of touch with nature by being coddled by an over-the-top resort scenario) - then this is the place to land. After staying there, a piece of this very special spot on the planet will always be with me. Do your spirit a favor and spend some time at the Chalet - sitting in the hammock and looking across the valley at the snow capped divide peaks.

If you are looking for a great place to get away to and have boundless views of beauty and opportunity for solitude, this is the place to stay. We have stayed here a number of times and love the cabin and all its great amenities. The kitchen is gorgeous and the living room has an excellent wood burning stove to keep you toast when the nights get cold. Satellite TV and internet service is available along with great cell phone coverage. We highly recommend this cabin for anyone wanting to get away.

This charming, light filled, single-level Chalet allows you to enjoy nature at it's best. Surrounded by breathtaking views & endless outdoor activities. Making it a romantic & playful getaway for couples. The owners were more than helpful in suggesting areas to snowshoe, cross country ski & my favorite where to go sledding! It was the perfect escape from everyday life.

NWhat a gem-the perfect combination of comfort and seclusion on 20 acres of nature's splendor. The amenities and craftsmanship are top of the line. I wish I had such a beautiful kitchen & bath at home. It is very private and peaceful, yet connected via the internet, which is great because cell phone coverage is spotty in the mountains. Fantastic mountain views from the doorstep, not to mention unlimited hiking and star-gazing. Great stepping-off point to explore the unique flavor & character of small Western towns and magnificent parks such as the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and Rocky Mountain National Park. A very unique and special place!!

The Mountain view Chalet is simply amazing, the views are spectacular, and the cabin has every amenity(including internet) not to mention being completely off the grid and self sustaining. We were there last Christmas and the owners were so accommodating we even had a chance to do some X-country skiing together. What a treat.... I highly recommend the location for anyone that wants mountain tranquility without losing the conveniences that we have all become accustomed while living in the city. A perfect place to get away, relax, and get a little work done if need be. Unbelievable, what a treasure....

Left on 02/16/2010 for a stay in August 2009
We had a wonderful, secluded, romantic getaway weekend in this gorgeous cabin. The designer and builder of this wonderful cabin settled for nothing less than perfection. We were amazed at the artistic craftsmanship of locally milled aspen window trim and the master masonry of area flagstone, granite and moss rock. The cabin is totally solar (no grid connection!). It is a right-sized cozy yet modern cabin with all the amenities set in the beauty of the Rockies. We thoroughly enjoyed the amazing views of the Divide, the lovely wildflowers, and our tranquil walks amid the pine and aspen forests. Highly recommended!
