BLURB FOR TRIP ADVISOR
Janalli's ten acre gardens are nestled in a secluded valley on the shores of Tarago Lake in verdant West Gippsland, Victoria. Only a little over an hour from Melbourne the air is fresh enough to taste and the views are of green hills, water and the bush. The garden has been designed to showcase the major cultures of Australia and includes indigenous flowering plants, bush food, a formal Italian garden, a Japanese garden, a productive Mediterranean garden and heaps of food gardens. These provide the seasonal ingredients for meals for our guests. The a la carte breakfast uses our own produce wherever possible - i...Read more

Additional Location Information
Janalli lies in the valley of the Tarago River which flows from the Baw Baw Mountains through the lush, green countryside of West Gippsland. This is some of the most productive farmland in Australia and as such produces food and wine of a very high quality. Small townships dot the landscape. Each one has its own distinctive character giving the visitor the opportunity to experience many different specialties. Towns vary from the historic gold mining town of Walhalla, the ski village of Mt Baw Baw and the shopping mecca which is Yarragon to the modern sprawling large town of Warragul. The area is often associated with the phrase "rolling green hills" and is green even when the rest of Australia is clad in summer brown.
Farm door sales, markets, vineyards, restaurants, antiques, specialty shops are all part of what West Gippsland has to offer. Add to this walks through untouched forests and towering mountain ashes to waterfalls and hidden fern gullies and there is always something to enchant our visitors.

MelbourneGarden of Eden!
Left on 10/28/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Staying at Janalli was like spending two days in a paradise garden. Wandering through the spectacular grounds and enjoying the sounds of birds, chatting to Ian and Phillipa about their plantings, was a joy for me, a rabid gardener.
On top of that, the rooms are outstanding. Simply, elegantly and comfortably set up, with a great view of the grounds. The breakfast was yet another bonus with generous serves, variety and unexpecredly unusual dishes. Loved my time there. -

Inverleigh, AustraliaDelightful B&B; with breathtaking gardens
Left on 08/14/2012 for a stay in August 2012
From the moment you drive down the tree lined drive you know you have chosen a special place. Hosts alan and Phillipa will greet you and settle you in and then allow you privacy to stroll the magnificent gardens at your leisure. The bedrooms are first class and have everything you need to make your stay more than comfortable. Breakfast is served in the conservatory and is an absolute delight (You wont need lunch).
The gardens are amazing and this is winter I can just imagine what they are like in the Spring.
Do yourself a favour and stay at Janalli Gardens soon...You will not be disappointed -

Had a great time. Nothing was too much trouble for Phillipa or alan. Alot of personal touches like baked goodies for afternoon tea, fresh flowers in the room. Very relaxing time.

Melbourne, AustraliaA magnificent 'getaway' close to Melbourne...a total experience
Left on 10/21/2011 for a stay in October 2011
The warm welcome from Phillipa and alan Beeson, the wonderful accommodation, the outstanding gardens and the fabulous food I enjoyed over the weekend, means I can only speak in superlatives about Janalli Gardens and accommodation. From the moment I arrived I was impressed with the attention to detail that made Janalli such a perfect place for me to unwind. The beautiful flowers in my room, newly picked from the garden, the wonderful breakfast of local produce, the amazing gardens with plants from around the world, lakes with trout rising...I didn't want to leave...there were new things to discover around every corner...and then there were places of interest outside in the surrounding countryside...but I didnt get to see them. I will just have to go back again to explore further. Janalli was an experience in itself...and I loved it!
