Description from the manager

Boasting a huge variety of character features such as exposed beams, stone walls and an impressive fireplace, this wonderful cottage comes with three bedrooms and a charming garden. Situated just minutes away from the centre of the seaside village of Nefyn is this stone-built, semi-detached former mariner's cottage. At just seven miles from Pwllheli, this snug little property sits on the north coast of the lovely Llyn Peninsula. The outdoor area is ideal for alfresco dining or relaxing with a good book. The cottage is just a ten minute walk from lovely sandy beaches and with the incredible scenic backdrop of the Welsh countryside, this is a...Read more

Beautiful little cottage, but not flawless

Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Me and my husband, his mum and his two kids stayed here from 25th august-1st September and found the house to be rather pleasant.
The kitchen had tea and coffee on arrival which was lovely, although we had bought our own, and under the stairs is a iron and board, a Hoover, I believe there was a travel cot and a high chair but as we didn't need them they're not 100% in my mind - do please contact the owners if unsure!
A full range of videos and Dvds for kids and adults, and a wide range of books and a few board games!

Just around the corner from two local shops, premiere and spar, and a Hsbc bank. Also only about 10 mins max walking distance to the beach, but in a lovely quiet little area that you won't be disturbed in!

Unfortunatly upon arrival the BBQ we had fully intended to use at least once weather permitting, and also listed on the Skye's website, was nowhere to be found:( and the outside chairs are just starting to show their age due to being left out in all weather conditions, so please be aware of sitting on them without thinking!!

The kitchen has a range cooker, microwave, kettle, breakfast bar and a full range of cutlery, crockery, including wine glasses, and cooking utensils.

The lounge itself is plenty spacious and enough room for the 5 of us (2 kids mostly on the floor playing though!!) and is a beautiful room, does get a bit cold though so do make use of the heaters they provide when you've just got in and can't feel the cold!

Also a tumbler and a washing machine, which is very handy, especially when your three year old decides she didn't like breakfast half way through the journey!!!

Upstairs are the bunk beds, and a tv. Bottom bunk quite high off the floor, which caused us concern for the three year old but luckily our potty can also be used as a footstool, and failing that there is a small footstool in the bathroom, however if your child likes to get out of bed a lot at night then it may cause you a bit of worry!

Twin room was lovely and contains a wardrobe - I didn't look in here so it may be shelves, but storage none the less.

Bathroom again was lovely and had a working bath and shower, however the bath is on a thermostat so you must remember to switch this on at least an hour before it is required! We couldn't open the window after 5 of us had had a shower one evening, so it got quite damp in there and we left the door open onto the landing instead!! Taps also a bit dodgy - the hot tap needs lifting and rotating and the cold is a little stiff!

      Finally the attic room!!!
Lovely quaint little room, with a working skylight, bedside tables and a small chest of drawers. The room itself is small and very low!! Please watch your head when entering this room, and getting dressed you have to stand at the end of the room or lay flat on the bed!! Also one of our bedside lights weren't working. This may just need a new bulb!!

We did thoroughly enjoy ourselves and please don't read the negatives as a bad sign, I found a lot of reviews didn't say too much about the house itself so I thought I would infill, the house was lovely and clean and I'm sure if we had had any major problems, we could have contacted the owner and had any problems rectified!!

One of the worst places I've ever stayed in

Left on 07/22/2012 for a stay in August 2010

We stayed here for a week two years ago and I would like to think that the faults have been rectified since then, but if not, here are some warnings for you. This accommodation is bordering on dangerous with no proper walls between rooms, just wood panelling with gaps - a great way for a fire to rapidly spread throughout the property. Then there is the spiral staircase to the third floor with no handrail, the bathroom with mould everywhere and a foul shower curtain. The bathroom window is just at road level and the frosting which had been stuck on had peeled off in many places - marvellous when you are trying to stand under a trickle of water in the shower whilst simultaneously dodging the shower curtain. There is a dangerous set of steps down to the property which were highly unsuitable for my two year old and four year old. At the bottom, there is an unlocked outhouse with a disused loo in - a real delight to see upon arrival. When we arrived there was a dirty sock in the lounge and cobwebs everywhere suggesting the cleaner hadn't been or had been but didn't clean. Give this one a miss if you can!

      The quiet life

Left on 01/09/2010 for a stay in May 2009

There were six of us in our party, all adults but varying in age. We had a great time, exploring Snowdonia, even climbing Snowdon. The cottage is very cute and quirky, but in need of a little TLC. The sash windows are are all painted shut, must be unbearable in the summer. The village of Nefyn literally has nothing in it.We found the one pub attached to the local hotel rather unfriendly, the beach however is beautiful. A lovely area for walking, but to eat or drink out, you need to go by car. Perfect for those who just want to chill. We would have liked just a little bit more.

A quirky little cottage. Comfortable and delightful

Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in July 2009

The cottage is beautifully presented with very high standards of cleanliness and extras such ad games and a wide selection of DVDs and videos. The connservatory dining room is beautifully light and airy and the kitchen is well stocked. The surrounding area of Snowdonia is beautiful and there are excellent beaches within walking distance or a short drive.
The minor worst thing was the parking as the brochure said room for 2 cars but there was only room for one car on a narrow road although additional free parking was available a short walk away in the village
