This family beach house is tucked into the quiet NeahKahNie Neighborhood of classic Oregon Coast beach cottages. A footpath, about 200 FEET LONG, between neighboring homes, leads TO THE BEACH.

Avalon is a "see forever" house-comfortable in every aspect and with the Pacific Ocean and NeahKahNie Mountain views, well, what more could you want. There were some really fogged-in days. When the heat in Portland continues for 4-5 days, something in the atmosphere pulls marine air closer to shore and the benefit here is that the beach cools off a bit, great relief from that heat in the Willamette Valley or farther inland! Hope you come back soon.

The beds are so uncomfortable- no one in our group slept well. The furniture, beds, sheets really need to be upgraded. It's a nice house in a good location but the condition of the furniture/beds rules it out for us as a rental.

Avalon is one of our favorite houses. It's so dissapointing to hear that they had difficulties with the beds. Beds are such a personal preference that sometimes 1 set of renters will love the beds and another set will not. We have been spending a week in Manzanita for 20+ years and the house we have rented these last 7 years has been the best. Avalon is a very comfortable home, with superior amenities AND the most amazing view.

Very clean, plenty of supplies in the kitchen and bedrooms. The view is wonderful and it's a great house for multiple families and kids. Cable TV would be a nice addition and a better stereo.

Avalon is a great house for our family of 6 and 2 dogs. The garage entry is perfect for checking your sandy shoes at the door and wiping down the dogs before entering the house. The upstairs view is perfect set higher above the single row of houses below so you can see the beach and the waves even if it's too rainy to go outside. Clean and comfortable, with every kitchen gadget you need, Avalon is our favorite. We plan to go there again!

What we loved:
-absolutely spotless and well stocked
-dog friendly but not "doggy"
-fabulous view
-comfortable outdoor deck for nice days
-just the right size

What could have been better:
-had to make a trip back to the office with the wrong keys
-upstairs bed was too hard, needs a pillow top
-needs more games
Overall we had a great stay. We would come back to Avalon again if we had someone to share the steep rental fee with--for just our little family it was too much to spend for a weekend. -

We have been returning to this house for many years and every year is an improvement over the last. The location is beyond reproach - close enough to shops and restaurants yet far from the bustle of Manzanita.
The home is well equipped with plenty of untensils, dishes, pots and pans and food prep areas.
The owners keep making upgrades that add to the experience. Newer furniture, appliances or bathroom fixtures are always appreciated.
The people at Ocean Edge are the best and make me feel like I am the only guest no matter how many phones are ringing or other people might come into their office. Questions are answered quickly and they are eager to help. -

Another fabulous stay in Manzanita with the family. Only reason for a missing star was there was no propane. Not that big a deal. Happens at home all the time! We really love how close the beach is and the house was perfect size for us!!! We were expecting

If we recommend to other people we might not get our 2 weeks that we want. LOL. We love the Avalon. Perfect space for our family. The view is incredible and access to the beach is good. Great neighbors on one side to socialize with. Two weeks is never quite long enough, but better than nothing.

Perfect house for gathering family or friends. Location is a quick walk down the path to the beach. Well appointed kitchen and has everything you'd need for a day or week stay. Soothing surf sounds at night and lovely view of the vast walking beach. We were delighted there at Easter, we'll come again.

Overall we were very happy with our stay at this house. Location and view were AWESOME! Top floor was great with 2 bedrooms and living room, kitchen all together to let everyone hang out. Pans, utensils, appliances were abundant and great for cooking for two families.
The lower floor was kind of strange in terms of layout b/c you get to the 3rd bedroom through the garage. The kids slept down there which was fine, but it didn't really give us easy access to the second bathroom or make it easy to use the downstairs for our group. I bring this up b/c it wasn't clear to me in the online description.
We would definitely stay here again though and the rental company was great to work with. They even helped us out by mailing some stuff back to us in Portland that my wife had accidentally left in a bedroom drawer. -

The TV/DVD was hard to figure out for us amateurs. The kitchen light throws a shadow on the stove when cooking and a shadow on the sink when washing. This is the first rental at the beach I've been in that didn't have a basic cook book. These are meant to be constructive criticisms.

We loved this house; the layout is wonderful and everyone had room to spread out. The ground level garage was a great place to store our bikes and sand toys. The view is amazing, and beach access was so easy. We had a wonderful time; can't wait to go back.

We had a family get together at the Avalon property. Just a block from the beach and comfortable for our whole family, we had a lovely stay. OceanEdge staff stood out from another company we spoke with, really devoting time and energy to help us make a good match with our reservation. They were on top of it and very pleasant to work with. One BIG hassle in an otherwise wonderful stay. When we stayed, the house was advertised to have DSL or High-Speed Internet Access. It didn't. Found out we were expected to mooch off a neighbor's WiFi...IF it was turned on, which never happened. And none of the ISPs I checked had local dial-up service, so I had to pay an extra $120 for toll-free (HA!) dial-up. Since we were running our business on our laptop, this was a royal pain and slow as Christmas. At least the property management folks were very understanding and deducted the cost from our total. If the owner ever adds Internet access, this would be one hard-to-beat location. GREAT ocean and mountain view, convenient and quiet location. OceanEdge office staff and its crews were most accommodating.

We so enjoyed the large dinning room table, well appointed kitchen, and fabulous view of the Avalon. Even though the downstairs bedroom had a unique location, the sleeping accommodations proved excellent. The bay windows are a designer touch too. Thankfully, this home was small dog friendly which made a big difference to us. Thanks again for the birthday card and coupon for ice cream. Big hit with the birthday girl!
