My husband and I stayed at the Baker suite for a week, using Nelson as our base to ski at Whitewater and Red Mountain.
We were thrilled with everything about the suite! The location is in the heart of downtown Nelson. Every amenity is walkable, even a larger grocery store so you can avoid buying a six dollar carton of eggs at the one across the street :) We were pleased with all of the storage space for our clothing, food, and ski gear. Although the parking is not right outside the door, it is a sixty second walk from the suite in a covered lot. The kitchen is spacious and bright and had all the tools we needed to prepare meals. Fresh coffee provided to grind every morning was lovely. The living area is also spacious and bright, with a comfy couch. One thing that area could use is a new tv, as the current one is a bit dated and made a distracting buzzing noise when we tried to watch a DVD, but we didn't really watch it so weren't too bothered. We made more use of the ipod speaker and plug in. There are two double beds in the bedroom and the one we chose was comfy. The washer and dryer were very handy to have. The washroom, like the rest of the apartment, was clean and had a nice big shower. Payment method was convenient. -

I rented the suite for my young family for a two-night stay in Nelson, and found it exactly as advertised. The suite is beautifully appointed and comes with great amenities including an incredible view of the mountains. We loved the downtown location and access to restaurants and shops. To top it off, when we left I forgot my swimsuit and Faune immediately offered to mail it home for me. Thanks for the great hospitality!

We spent four days at the Baker Suite, and were so impressed with this alternative to hotel living. A fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, beautiful sitting room, quality finishings, wonderful communication with the owners, and a fantastic location made this a superb vacation experience. Add to that the top quality "Craft Connection" shop located on the first floor of the building owned by the same owners and featuring the best of Nelson artisans was a feature also enjoyed. Wish that this concept could be "cloned" at other destinations we visit!

Perfect central location in the heart of Baker Street.

we really enjoyed our stay at the Baker Suite. The location is wonderful, much to do by just walking out your front door. Nice attention to details, like gourmet, locally roasted coffee beans and grinder and many brochures, pamphlets for local area attractions and restaurants.

Left on 07/03/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We stayed 4 nights in the Baker Suite and absolutley loved it. Located right in the heart of Baker Street we were close to great shopping, coffee, and eating. While it's not on the water, the beach is only a short drive or walk away. Great coffee was provided in the suite from Oso Negro and the little things such as laundry soap were on hand for conveniant living.
The apartment is very warm and inviting and the beds comforatable. Highly recommended. -

We stayed in the Baker Suite for three nights and found it to be excellent value for the money. The building was very quiet with the only noise coming from the street after the closing of the bars (we were there on a weekend). Faune and Christine were very helpful and all ameneties were excellent. We will certainly stay at the Baker Suite on our next visit to Nelson. Joan Krohn

Always wanted to stay "downtown" in a quaint little town. I found them both in the Baker Suites.
It was great watching the funky little town wake up every morning, from my perch above.
The apartment itself was very comfortable and elegant...airy and spacious. Loved the stone wall and the huge windows. Everything you could want.
Christine and Faune made the stay specilal -

Imagine you have everything at your fingertips you ever wanted in a place to stay cause this is it! From walk-in shower and skylights to Breakfast and Nightlife on same street. We loved it and plan to return. Nelson has been my favorite town for 30+ years for many reasons and The Baker Suite is the final touch. Thank you to our hosts for everything!

Being on Baker St. and only 55 steps from the squash courts was the start of a great stay. What really made it special was the stunning layout of the suite. I spent quite a while on the couch staring at the beautiful rock wall.

Our stay was excellent. The owners were very accomodating. The rental was nicely done and very clean. The location was perfect, being right on Baker Street. The only minor inconvenience was parking, as it wasn't adjacent to the building. We would definite recommend this rental location for someone visiting Nelson, BC.

I have travelled for work for several years and as a result have stayed in lots of different hotels, long-term condos, apartments, etc. This was a very unique experience for a number of reasons. The location is perfect, sitting right on baker street in the heart of Nelson. The finishings and design of the condo were fantastic with up-to-date (and high-end) kitchen, laundry, living room and large bedroom with 2 comfortable queen beds. The size was fantastic with a large "L shaped" couch where we were able to entertain several friends at once. It was clean, well equipped, and perfectly located. I felt like it was the best possible place we could have stayed in town and the price was fantastic. The owners are friendly and helpful and work right downstairs and I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived in Nelson after a long drive one night at the Prestige Lakeview (the more basic of the Prestige hotels), and as soon as I got there I knew we'd made a mistake. Luckily, the Baker suite was available and we moved there first thing the next day!
The place is as beautiful as the photos portray. It has air conditioning which was important for us as it was very hot in Nelson at the time. The details (granite countertops and exposed original stonework) make it feel quite luxurious and the tall windows look on to the street and the mountains. Because you are staying in a nice apartment rather than a hotel, or b&b;, that takes a lot of the stress/discomfort out of traveling. It felt like the honeymoon that it was because we found a place that was so nice. The kitchen and laundry are a huge plus. There is some base noise from the pub at night, and some street noise during festival time, but the gentle consistent noise of the air conditioner units drowned any of it out. We both slept very well.
The owners were lovely, and the Craft connection store below has been a favourite of mine since I first visited. I whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Nelson! -

We had an excellent stay at the Baker Suite while visiting Nelson on a family holiday. The suite is an outstanding, impeccable and modern condo unit that has top-notch finishes and all the comforts of home (and then some!). It has everything you'd need to accommodate a short or longer stay in beautiful Nelson...and, the location cannot be beaten. It's located in the absolute heart of downtown Nelson with lots of great restaurants and shops all just outside your front door. If you're looking for accommodations in town, look no further!

We had a quick stop in to the Baker Suite in between campgrounds. It was perfect as it has a kitchen and laundry. A beautiful suite with family room, tv, ipod dock and a shower that we were thrilled to see. We would definitely stay there again. There are no services as it is like being in your own condo but there are coffee shops and grocery stores within one block.
