Stunning uninterrupted waterfront views. Expansive gardens meandering down to estuary. Peaceful rural setting, amazing water views and tide at your door step.
Our property is nestled in native trees and meaanders thru beautiful gardens right to the waters edge - a Marlborough Sounds lookalike but only 20mins to Central NELSON. We are at the top of the South Island. Cable Bay is Nelson's best kept secret. It's a tranquil paradise only 20 minutes to Nelson City Center. Literally from your doorstep you can swim, snorkel, fish, kayak, walk, wind surf, or just relax and take in the stunning views. It's perfect as a base to explore Nelson and the surrounding area and to come back to our quiet Retreat. Your own parking is available. Airport pickup and drop off can be arranged. Car hire-age can also be arranged.

What a setting, helped by the kind hospitality of Carol & Steve. Nothing too much trouble and very helpful. Availability of a canoe is perfect on such a sheltered piece of water and the garden is a treasure trove. Can say no more than marvellous !,

The tree-house waterfront hideaway is exactly that, the accommodation is very comfortable and private with spectacular views of cable bay from every window. The garden is well loved and provides a different places to dine, relax and watch the sun go down. The house design is like nothing else we have stayed in before and the owners Carol and Steve are extremely helpful and welcoming.
We would definitely stay here again. -

We had our Summer Break here and it was just like its name 'A hide-away Retreat' It was a lovely relaxing place to stay with plenty to do if you chose to. Its quiet and feels remote but only 20 minutes or so to Nelson City. The room has a lovely feel to it. Its very comfortable with a lovely beach style. It has a good size kitchen and bathroom with everything we required in it. The views from the room are wonderful and it has its own private setting. We are looking forward to going back in the near future. The only problem we had was that we could not stay longer.

We needed a break away from the hustle and bustle of worklife and we found it at the Tree House. It felt like an exclusive resort with the luscious gardens, the summer house, jetty and boathouse. We woke to the sounds of native birds! And opened curtains which revealed magnificent views of water and mountains. Perfect!
Carol and Steve were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome. They were a mine of information about the history of Cable Bay which further enriched our stay with them. We can't wait to go back again! :)Response from Carol Webster - 03/02/2013
