The Cedar Chalet is a cozy, beautiful home in uphill Nelson. Our guesthouse is nestled uphill Nelson, affording you incredible views of the Selkirk Mountains and Kootenay River. Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the high deck and the peace and serenity of hanging in a hammock under the cedar trees. A short walk downhill leads you to the culture and cuisine of Nelson while just out your back door are walks into a peaceful forest.

The Chalet is perfectly located -- high up in nelson mountain, yet only 5 minutes ( by car) from the centre of nelson. Well maintained, fresh and new, with a picnic table and a deck looking out at spectacular scenery. Inside, a very generous kitchen, living room and dining room on the main floor, and two comfy bedrooms on the first floor. Very private and quiet, without being isolated.And great value for money! Miranda and David are excellent hosts, very knowledgeable and helpful about activities in and around nelson, and they live next door - another great plus!: they also operate an excellent hiking and climbing company -- highly recommended. My family of 5 recently stayed here. We loved the cabin's layout, location, and amenities.The beds were confortable, the shower was great, and the kitchen was fully equipped. This place has a terrific view of the town and the lake, and we found it quiet and very accessible to the path system. A small deck allows an amazing view and was a perfect place to enjoy early morning coffees or wine at night. There is also a lovely yard- which is a safe and wonderful place for children to play. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and did everything possible to help us enjoy our stay. Highly recommended and would love to return!

Best location in Nelson, this place is overlooking the entire town and Kootenay Lake. Sitting right at the base of the mt bike trail system. Beautiful garden, deck and fruit trees. Clean and well maintained. If you like to walk to town be preparred for a huge hill climb on the way home. Great hosts, and great neighbors. We spent three months here and enjoyed every minute of it.
