If you're looking for a quiet beach getaway in a lovely home with only a short stroll to one of the best beaches in Oregon...then look no further – Brigadune in Neskowin is your perfect home away from home!

This three-story, modern classic that sleeps 6 is located in the desirable south beach area of Neskowin, a quiet, gated community. Brigadune is set in a secluded wooded area on 1/3 of an acre on a quiet road.

The main level living area has vaulted ceilings with a skylight, a river rock gas fireplace and an HD TV with a bluray player and cable. Enjoy cooking in the roomy well-equipped kitchen with top of the line appliances... and granite countertops. Feel surrounded by the forest as you dine overlooking the wooded back yard. In the reading nook there are shelves of books, games and puzzles. The enclosed porch has a view of the wooded area behind the house. Open the windows and listen to the birds sing, or the rain fall while sipping your morning coffee. For your convenience a powder room/laundry room on the main floor has a stacked, front loading washer and dryer.

The top floor has two large bedrooms. The master bedroom has a nice little peek of the ocean and a king-sized memory foam bed as well as a gas fireplace and an HD TV with cable. You will also find a large, luxurious bathroom with a roomy shower, double sinks and a fabulous claw foot soaking tub. The second bedroom has two twin beds, a large HD TV with cable and a Wii gaming console (bring your favorite Wii and GameCube games!).

On the lower level is the third guest bedroom suite with a view of the wooded area in back. This room also has a queen-sized bed and an attached bathroom. Access to the double garage is from the lower level.

You'll want to spend a lot of time outside enjoying the sandy beach which is just a short stroll from the house (about a 3 minute walk). It’s a quiet, un-crowded beach with many interesting landmarks. Just to the north is Proposal Rock, a picturesque tree-topped haystack rock jutting out of the surf. And to the south lies a unique “ghost forest� of ancient tree stumps that are uncovered in the surf as the tide recedes. These ancient stumps have been carbon dated at 1700 to 2000 years old! Just south of the ghost forest are several tide pools to be explored during low tide (say hello to our resident star fish). Father North past Proposal Rock and across Slab Creek is an excellent surfing beach as well as access to Neskowin Village. The entire length of this fabulous beach is great for building bonfires, stargazing, looking for seashells, spotting seals, and building sand castles.

Neskowin also offers easy access to the famous Cascade Head Trail, which leads you through spectacular stands of spruce and opens to a meadow with absolutely stunning views of the Pacific.

Try your skills at the Neskowin Marsh Golf Course as well as other area courses.

A short drive north will lead you to Nestucca Bay, which is excellent for non-motorized water sports, such as canoeing and kayaking. A few minutes further north is Pacific City, where you can find some fantastic surfing, go horseback riding on the beach, watch the fishing dories land right on the beach, or wear yourself out climbing up and sliding down the famous sand dunes!

Just 10 minutes south is Lincoln City where you can shop, golf, hit the casinos, spas, shopping at Tanger Outlet mall, take in a movie, or dine at one of the many fabulous fresh seafood restaurants. Further south is Depoe Bay, famous for its whale watching, and Newport with its famous aquarium and other attractions including Ripley's Believe it or Not and the Wax Museum.

  We stayed at Brigadune in mid-October and it was wonderful. The house is clean, light, airy, nicely furnished, warm, well-stocked, and in such a beautiful setting. We walked the short path to the practically private beach (one day we did have it entirely to ourselves, the other days there were about 4 other people). The beach is the perfect size, lovely, and even somewhat protected from the weather. We watched a family of deer grazing in the afternoon light from the huge windows in the master bedroom. We cooked comfort food and turned on the gas fireplace (with a remote!) and watched TV on the big screen downstairs while our son watched his shows on the big screen upstairs. The house is just so comfortable and inviting; it really has a nice vibe. The owners were a dream to work with and it's clear they have really worked to make sure that the house is welcoming to their guests. There are books and board games and Dvds and even a Wii. We are definitely planning on returning as often as we can.

  I love this house! The review guidelines indicate I should say what I liked the least -- the only thing I can think of is I did not like leaving! The pictures and description of this house are very accurate. The owners are very friendly and accomodating. Their goal is to make sure you have a good time. I stayed in the suite on the lower level and felt very pampered. It was very private. The only advice I would give is to make sure you do your grocery shopping before you hit Neskowin -- Lincoln City is only about 7 miles away and they have very large chain grocery stores. If you plan on eating out, you have to try the Otis Cafe. Very small, but charming and the food is excellent. There are, of course, plenty of places to eat in Lincoln City. Also, if you are like me and have to do some shopping while you are on vacation, Lincoln City is the place for that. But, if you want to relax and enjoy the woods and the beach, you need to stay here!! The house is nestled in the woods and just a very quick 2 minute walk to the beach on a private beach access trail. Be sure and watch for "Snoopy" at low tide. And get as close to those trees in the ghost forest as you can -- I saw a beautiful starfish. The owners have a notebook full of ideas for the nearby area, so there is plenty to do if you want to get out and about.
