Havnehurst is a private retreat with beautiful grounds surrounded by forested trees that sway with the ocean breezes.
There are 4 Bdrms, two living areas, two kitchens, joined by a common area. Perfect for traveling with others when you each would like a bit of privacy!
There is plenty of parking for cars and recreational vehicles too.

This place was just about perfect for my family reunion. There was places for everyone to either hide or meet, depending on who was there. The hot tub was fun for the kiddos and nice for the adults after the kids were in bed!!! So relaxing!! Loved having so many bathrooms. Place was tidy, but felt comfortable to me. I did have some issues with the lock box, but the contact person was readily available to help me figure it out.

The home itself was fine - the furnishings, supplies and cleanliness were the issue.
First of all I was never texted the lock box code. I have never had this hurdle in trying to gain entry in a rental home - the security code has always been emailed to me several days before our arrival. I ended up calling the office several times before I finally got through to get the code.
Upon arrival at the home, I immediately was aware of garbage piled up around the outside cans and litter around the entrance into the home. The piled garbage proved to be a challenge over the next two days as the animals in the area got into this garbage and strew it around the yard and parking area. We spent our mornings cleaning up the garbage.
Once in the home, I noticed that it was not very clean. There were "dust bunnies” on the floors, the sliding glass doors and the glass door on the west side of the common area were covered in greasy hand prints and smears. The upstairs (north kitchen/living room) had dust covered glass shelves. There was a dirty cleaning rag left in the bathroom.
There is a deficit in bath towels, wash clothes and dish rags in this home. We had to search for these items instead of them being in the kitchens and baths, including having to fold the laundry in the dryer to get additional towels.
There is no plunger and the upstairs north toilet plugged up. So instead of a plunger being readily available, we wasted a lot of time searching for one, to no avail.
The pullout bed/couch in the south living area was filthy. We took the cushions off to pull out the bed and it was full of crumbs, stale food, hair, unidentifiable matter. It was disgusting.
We had to purchase toilet paper and paper towels because there was not a sufficient supply left for our use.
I'm sure the owners would not be happy to know that their home is rented in such a state of uncleanliness.Response from Oceanside Beach Rentals - 05/12/2013

This Home is Now under new management as of March 2012. My Policy is that all lock box code are sent days in advance for this reason.
Along with new Management came new cleaning staff.
