Lago Haus / La Posada - A Waterfront split level house, that consists of two seperate units. Each is a 2/1 that sleeps 8. Lago is at street level and La Posada is at ground level with it's entrance facing the waterfront. These 2 units may be rented together or seperately, This property is great for a family or group of up to 16.
There is one Queen in each masterbedroom, with 2 queens in each second bedroom. Enjoy the newly restored wooden floors in Lago or the stained concrete floors in La Posada. Each unit has a full kitchen with all new appliances, arranged in a galeria style combo livingroom, dining, kitchen area.

We had a great time. Mr. Hovestadt was very nice and accommodating. The property is well kept, and the place was well equipped. Everything was clean and lovely. The house is right on the river. It's a great place to go swimming and see some turtles, birds, and fish. We explored the premises and found a rock quarry next door and small spring where the water comes out of the ground. We went with my uncle, who is in a wheel chair, and Mr. Hovestadt was very helpful in accommodating him. And the best part was that we could bring our dog. I'd definitely recommend this place for a family looking to spend quality time together.

10 guests & 1 little baby stayed here this weekend. It was a lot of fun. The rooms are well-kept, clean, & very accommodating. the pots, pans, & utensils are complete. We will definitely visit again soon !

The owner of this property, Tom, is very friendly and nice; but we won't stay here again. My husband and I traveled with 3 other couples and stayed at La Posada, based up Tom's recommendation. The house was very small; 1 bedroom has 2 full beds and the other bedroom had a queen bed. In the room with the queen bed, there is a big square hole in the wall that opens up to the living room and they have a little curtain, so there's no real privacy. No closets either. There isn't enough seating in the kitchen or living room, it was all very cramped, especially for 8 adults. There is no full-size oven and no dishwasher.
The bathroom was ridiculously small and although they tried to make it look cozy, it was not very clean (especially the shower). It's a stand up shower, but only about 2' X 2', so my 6' husband couldn't get comfortable... he was standing half in the showe and half out and alternate to get clean. I had a hard time washing my hair because my elbows kept hitting the walls. You also had to flush the toilet 2 or 3 times to get everything to go down the drain.
There is a nice outdoor space with a fire pit and a table and chairs. The lake in front of the house is covered in algae, so you can't go in the water, you can just look at it. The location is good, a few miles off 35.
We take an annual river tubing trip with 3 other couples every year and this year, we decided to try someplace new. Needless to say, everyone was upset that we downgraded to this place. This price was only $100 less than what we normally pay at our usual place and at our usual place, the space is much larger, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full huge kitchen... it was just crazy to pay this much for the space you get.
I wouldn't recommend this house to anyone; for the price you pay, there are plenty of better places you can find for the same price. Again, I hate I could give a better review because the owner and his wife are incredibly friendly; but I want everyone to be aware.Response from Tom Hovestadt - 09/07/2012

This property is one of our most rented and enjoyed homes !
It is located in our Wunder-Cove that consists of 6 waterfront houses
located side by side. Each is a 2/1 and sleeps 8 persons in different
configurations. There is over 1000 ft. of common area waterfront here
with 4 boat docks and a common area hot-tub. The water in front of
this property is for fishing not swiming, but the other 1/3 of our water
front with the boat docks is used by many of our guests every day for swiming.
It is unfortunate that this guest did not enjoy her stay in this property.
When a guest waits over 30 days to make us aware of any issues with
a property, there is not much we can do to accommodate that guest during their stay. Our management and staff are available 24 / 7 to assist our guests with all issues.
We had upgraded these guests to this water front property from a non-water front property at a discounted rate. Their description of the layout and furnishings of this property are not true or correct !
The master bedroom has a queen, there are 2 queens
in the 2nd bedroom, and there is a futon full in the livingroom. This
property was completely remodeled in 2011. Everything in this property
from the wiring, plumbing, furnishings and appliances are brand new.
This is a wonderful property, with most of our guests renting both the La Posada and the Lago Haus upstairs. This complex offers 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 kitchens, 2 patio areas with a combined capacity of 16 .guests.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lago Haus. They did a wonderful job remodeling it just this past summer. It was nice having the large kitchen,living and dining area all together. I would love to come back and see the back yard in all it's greenery and the river flowing freely but don't think I can take the heat. We had perfect weather and enjoyed how close everything was. It was so nice being close to my daughter. Tom, the owner was very helpful and accommodating. Always a quick response to any questions or problems we experienced. So nice having laundry facilities available. Would highly recommend this place.
