Lombard, ILFantastic experience!!
Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We were a group of 14 looking to have a nice girls weekend and ended up having a fantastic time. The owners of the house were very easy to deal with and the house itself was clean and beautiful. There was a place for everyone to sleep, the kitchen was huge, and there was plenty of sitting room. There were 4 bathrooms so it was easy to get ready in the mornings as well. The house comes fully stocked with everything except toliet paper and paper towels/napkins...make sure to bring extras. We were there in early May so we didn't take advantage of the pool or fire pit but we did visit the beach just across the street. The beach was beautiful, as were the sunsets, and it was a short 5 minute walk away. I would highly recommend this house for large groups and families. We had a wonderful experience here.

This cottage was just perfect for our large family!! The in-ground pool and backyard with fire pit was ideal...the basketball court was an added plus as well!! The close proximity of the beach access was wonderful and the cottage was beautiful inside and out!! We are already looking forward to next year!!! Our family made some very cherished memories here and we hope to be able to rent each year here!!! Perfect!!!

Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Communication before our visit was great...email info. about arrival policies and procedures, and questions were answered promptly by telephone. Upon our arrival we contacted the office as requested; however, we did not received a return phone call due to the office being closed on the day of our arrival.
The Blue Stone Cottage was clean and organized. It was roomy and had plently of bath towels but could have used a few more hand towels. We liked the layout of the house and the fact that there were 2 washers/dryers/dishwashers. Pool/pool supplies were great, basketball court was nice for the kids, and the proximity to the beach was convenient. Beach access was close but stairs were somewhat steep for kids.
Overall we had a great week at the Blue Stone Cottage and plan to return next year! -

Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Blue stone Cottage was the perfect place for my group of girl friends to stay. The house slept our whole group comfortably and was so clean! Rsvp rentals was very easy to work with as well. The back yard and pool were a great addition to the house. Very close walk to beach and quick drive to the cute little town of New Buffalo. Kitchen is stocked with everything you would need to cook for the weekend. Plenty of seating around house from the family room, kitchen tables, to the screened in porch Everyone mentioned numerous times about how we must come back next year! Thanks for a great weekend Blue Stone!

Bryant, IndianaGreat time, beautiful place, caring owners, fatastic location
Left on 06/22/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The home is "new" and has a beautiful kitchen, lots of seating and two sets of dishes, silverware, and all the dishes we needed to cook for a full house. Very clean. The location of the heated swimming pool to the bar area, and kitchen was perfect. The bedrooms and baths were laid out for privacy and noise control. With two baths and two bedrooms on the ground floor grandma never had to climb a stairs. The walk to the beach was easy and we visited every day. The fire pit was lit for the first time and a brick overheated and exploded causing 8 chairs to be ruined and some minor burns to some of the guests. However we were very pleased with the responce of the landscaper and Rsvp to the incident. It is this type of response that made the stay enjoyable. It would have been better if we could have left the clean towels in the dryer, instead of having them clean the last night as suggested. Also, needed more dish towels and dishrags in the kitchen. Ran out everyday.

Left on 12/02/2010 for a stay in November 2010
Blue Stone Cottage is most certainly a very comfortable home for families, but it works extremely well for couples as well. The kitchen flows well, is stocked well and complete with two ! dishwashers. We love gathering in the living room to chat and play games. And we love sharing meals around the huge table. Lots of space to share and to retreat for quiet time. A wonderful home for friends to share laughter, fun and friendship.

Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in August 2010
I thought the house was perfect for my family. The inside of the house needed some repairs, and the furniture needed cleaning. The house needs at least one king size bed...the beds seem smaller than queens. The location, the pool and the basketball court are all pluses, plus the beach location and access to the beach is terrific.
It is a wonderful cottage...a great family experience. -

Glenview Illinoissuperlative comfort
Left on 07/31/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We were 12 members of an extended family, and the house, with its three suites, was perfect for the three family groups. The house has room for everyone, the little children and the grown ups, to play, watch tv, play games, read, all which can be done at the same time and privately. The kitchen was our center of attention at night where we cooked, enjoying the proximity to the pool area, and ate in the kitchen at the long tables. My brother and his family, who live in Washington DC, at first were resistant to leaving an ocean. They are now in love and we all hope that we can repeat our experience next year. As my brother said, "I thought it would be a beach house, it was so much more, quiet elegance". We couldn't have been happier.

Grand Blanc, MIPerfect Retreat Weekend
Left on 02/04/2010 for a stay in January 2010
I booked this house for a girl’s get away retreat. There were 13 of us. The house was wonderful and clean. There was more than enough room for all of us.
Over the weekend we visited the vineyards, the casino and the outlet mall in Michigan City. Lots to do in the area.
We did experience one issue with the Smoke Detector.. it needed a new battery so the alarm would go off every 15 minutes. We disconnected it and put it outside - RSVP was made aware but did not come to replace the batter during the weekend. I was kind of surprised by that, but the alarm didn't bother us after Friday evening.

Kalamazoo, MIBest Christmas House Ever
Left on 01/06/2010 for a stay in December 2009
The Blue Stone Cottage was a wonderful place for our extended family to gather over the holidays. The house was clean, well furnished, and had an excellant lay-out for multiple family groups. The main floor bedroom and bath made it ideal for my elderly parents. We had a great time just relaxing, cooking and eating (great kitchen), sitting by the fire, and walking on the beach in the snow.

Highland Park, IlAnnual Memorial Day Family Vacation
Left on 07/16/2009 for a stay in May 2009
It's a great house for our multi-generational family of fifteen. Having access
to a pool and the beach is a plus. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to
work in. There are so many areas in the house for all our different groups.
The only draw back is the very wet laundry room in the basement. This is our
third year and it has not been fixed. Other than that we love the house and
hope it will be available next year.Response from RSVP Rentals, Inc. - 12/08/2009

Well after much investigative work to ascertain the cause and therefore the treatment of the water "problem" I am happy to say the homeowners took a very pro-active and complete remedy to the situation: See Below!
Phase 0: Preparation: 1. Seal off basement to rest of house and any dewatering Phase 1: Demolition of the existing basement: 1. Remove and save existing cabinetry, fixtures, washer and dryer, and counter tops. 2. Disconnect all necessary utilities and temporarily remove from basement furnace and water heaters. 3. Removal and discard (dumpster service) of all existing drywall, framing, trim, case work, doors, and insulation in existing basement to exterior concrete block walls and two load bearing block column supports. 4. Removal of all concrete floors (and breakup/haul out/discard) in basement including exterior section of access / bilco doors. 5. Excavate, remove and discard 6-8" of soil / sand. 6. Remove and discard existing sump pits and tie-in lines. Phase 2: Drainage and Sump Systems: 1. Place 6-8" of washed stone. 2. Install interior drainage system around interior footings and cross drain system running every 2 feet from front to back across all horizontal surface areas that tie into a new larger sump basin. Includes installation of exterior drain in bilco door area that ties into drainage system. 3. Install industrial Zoeller Sump Pumps (2) with a battery back-up system with check valves and silent float system. 4. Sump pit to be located by front left corner of basement closets to road and Dunes club to drain to ditch by road. Phase 3: Concrete Work: 1. Install new concrete floor 4" thick (special concrete mix impervious to water) with heavy mil visqueen below. 2. Replace any footings as needed. 3. Restructure bearing and point loads as needed to maintain integrity of existing house. 4. Hook up all mechanicals to working order-furnace/water heaters etc. Phase 4: Restoration of Basement Finishes: 1. Restoration of the basement finished area approximately as currently finished in terms of interior framing, insulation, drywall, trim work, cabinetry, counter tops, fixtures, doors, and paint. 2. Includes hook-up of washer and dryer. 3. Option to increase size of finished area to include am open recreation room and perimeter storage wall closets along Dunes Club side of basement with minimal mechanical room footprint in existing location. Possibility to rework duct work to offer more headroom. Finalize plan the third week of project. Phase 5: Exterior Siding Repair and Window Painting: 1. Replacing of siding wood by grill and paint to match house. 2. Windows around front entry room and mudroom to be scrapped, re-glaze glass and paint to match trim color. Phase 6: Clean-up and Property Restoration: 1. Clean-up, dumping, and yard restoration due to work performed above will be taken care of.
To date 95% of the work is complete with final trim and painting left to do. This should solve the mystery stream that sufaced intermittantly over the last 3 years! The basement is now dry, clean and larger! We are looking to possibly add a foosball table or some other sort of recreation in the enlarged space. Rentals are nearly full for the summer so don't delay! Look forward to seeing you back.
Sincerely,
Greg Gardner RSVP/rentals, Inc. -

Glenview, Illinois40th Birthday Party
Left on 01/14/2009 for a stay in January 2009
We rented Bluestone Cottage for a 40th birthday party. It was absolutely beautiful! There was a bed for all 12 ladies to sleep in and plenty of room for us to congregate and cook. Everything was clean and well decorated. It's proximity to Lake Michigan afforded views from the second floor. Two to 3 families could easily rent this in the summer and not be on top of each other.

MichiganBlue Stone Cottage Review
Left on 01/09/2009 for a stay in December 2008
The Blue Stone Cottage is perfect for large families who like both private and quiet bedroom areas and large gathering areas. There are 6 bedrooms divided into three suites. There are 14 people in our family, and we have rented this home 2 times and plan on renting it again. It has Lake Michigan access, which even in the winter is fantastic. There are some great New Buffalo restaurants, and the homes in the area are beautiful. I would highly recommend this home to any large family! Everything in this home is high quality.

We rented this house with 2 other families and had a terrific
time. There was plenty of room for everyone. The proximity to
the lake, to downtown New Buffalo, how easy it was to rent from
RSVP -- all of it was great and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. -

Great family reunion!
Left on 08/28/2008 for a stay in September 2007
We had four families stay here and it was just perfect! The seperate sleeping/bathing suites give privacy, while the rest of the house provides ample space for together time. We was large enough to accomodate us all, without feeling like we were on top of each other the whole time. The kitchen was great for cooking--much care was invested in the design of this home to make if extremely functional. We loved the pool and the beach was close enough to enjoy everyday!

Left on 08/27/2008 for a stay in May 2008
The Blue Stone Cottage is the perfect spot for a family get away- with other families. The rooms are arranged as to allow each family to have their own space and privacy- all three suites come equipt with a master bedroom, bunk room (which sleeps 3-4), bathroom and seperate sink area. The double dishwasher, seperate beer frig and bathroom right off the pool make this property perfect for families. The pool & close proximity to the beach and downtown New Buffalow makes this rental perfect for a summer get away!!

A Beautiful Beginning!
Left on 08/27/2008 for a stay in July 2006
As I sit in waiting for the arrival of my first grand baby I remember the summer days and and nights that followed my daughters wedding. We had the wedding celebration at my sisters Michigan home. Family and friends poured in from all over the country and overseas. With some deciding to stay for an extended time we found a beautiful home to rent right near the lake with its own swimming pool. Days and nights of visiting at poolside and games on the screened porch brought our long distance friends close to us again. The easy pace of shared cooking, walks to the beach, sleeping in and sitting together for days left us needing nothing. It was a comfort after a busy time and a fond memory when thinking about the what brought about this new life.

Lots of Space for Kids!!
Left on 08/27/2008 for a stay in August 2008
We loved this house! We had two families with 7 small kids, and there was plenty of room for everyone! We especially loved having the playroom upstairs. The house was very close to the beach, and it was really nice to have the option of pool or beach. It was also nice to have the basketball net. The house was really well thought out when renovated and decorated. The kitchen is awesome, plenty of bathrooms, and more than enough sleeping space. I couldn't think of anything that could be improved upon, except maybe an alarm on the back door to know if it was opened so you would know if a little child went out on his own.
