A roomy, comfortable, friendly family cottage

We loved this farmhouse. It was just like a home from home with plenty of space for the seven of us (adults)who had travelled up for a family wedding. We chose it because it allowed us bring our son's dog, although we left her in kennels on the day of the wedding. It was not the most luxurious cottage we have ever stayed in, but we actually prefer paying less for 'homely' rather than 'luxury' as it leaves more money for spending. We could also have done with a couple more towels too, but we forgot to ask for more. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, the house is within walking distance of New Mills and a short car ride from the outskirts of Manchester - a highlight was the guided tour of the hat museum/factory in Stockport. There are plenty of walks around, a huge park just down the road with an outside gym and a children's play area and it isn't far to drive into the Peak District National Park - stunning scenery! In fact, New Mills is well-placed for travelling around as it is close to so many a roads. We had no trouble at all travelling to the wedding near Holmfirth. Every day we returned from our outing it felt like a warm and cosy place to come home to.

excellent accomodation warm cosy well equiped - we stayed in Feb 2012 and the snow almost halted us getting to the acccomodation but the owner was more than helpful meeting us with his land rover and guidling us to Brow Farm. Our party consisted of 5 adults, 3 and 18 month old babies (and 3 dogs)with us the offer to ship all the family in if necessary was comforting. He kept us stocked up with fuel for the wood burner.
We loved Brow Farm

We had a wonderful time at Brow Farm. There was a warm welcome as well as a warm fire. The cottage had everything we needed and everyone loved both the location and the ameneties. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and we're already planning a return visit!
Comfortable family accommodation in lovely area.

Lovely area. Comfortable, well-equipped and spacious accommodation.. perfect for a family group. The aga was a novelty but we were a bit hot and had to time multiple showers and baths to ensure hot water...but that added to the charm of the place. The owner was very helpful and everyone we met was really friendly.Perfect for an extended family and lots to do in the area.
Fantastic homely cottage, warm with great views and lovely AGA

Brilliant service, fire burning on arrival!
Comfortable cottage, everything we needed and well thought out.
Walking distance (10 mins) from New Mills where there is lots to see. (Millenium Walk and Walks along river well worth a visit)
Warm and very comfortable cottage just right for a long weekend in November.
Worst thing was only one shower and we had 4 couples, but this didn't detract from the stay. This cottage is lovely, feeling more like a home than a rented cottage.
