      Absolutely Perfect!

Left on 04/22/2013 for a stay in April 2013

My son and I have just returned from a week's stay at this adorable cottage. Eshyah has done a beautiful job restoring this place.
This was my 9th trip to New Orleans over the past 4 ½ years. I have stayed at several hotels in both the Quarter and the business district. For many reasons, this is the best place that I have stayed by far and I will definitely be back! The location is perfect. A short walk to the Quarter. The kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator was a big plus. Lots of space for drinks and all those leftovers, as well as a microwave, coffee pot and stove. Eshyah has taken great care to make sure that there is nothing you need to bring when you arrive but your clothes...The living area is small, but there was plenty of space for the two of us to sleep and she even provided an air mattress for my son which he slept on very comfortably. There is also a nice sized closet which easily held everything we brought. My favorite part about the cottage was the backyard. A covered deck with a little table and chairs where I had my coffee every morning, a beautiful pond with koi fish, and a very cute little outbuilding which housed the washer and dryer. It was great to be able to do laundry if we needed. There are beautiful plants in the yard. Constance, who lives in the front house, was around whenever we needed anything. She's an amazing gardener and we really enjoyed talking to her many times during our stay. Just a lovely woman.
All in all a very, very pretty place in a safe and convenient location. Can't wait to return!

      Awesome location

Left on 03/15/2013 for a stay in March 2013

My friend and I went to New Orleans for a sightseeing trip. The cottage really was adorable. It's newly refurbished (you can check out the pictures above the fridge that show what it looked like before being restored - wow! What a difference), and is very clean and tidy. The bed is a futon, but a mattress pad is provided and it's pretty easy to set it up as a bed (since our stay was only a few days, my friend and I set it up as a bed on our first day and then just left it that way until we left). We had a little mishap with the keys we were given, but there's a lady who stays onsite and she was able to switch out the keys to give us ones that worked. The cottage is really small. There's just a living room with an attaached kitchen, a bathroom and a closet, but it wasn't bad at all. We found that we had plenty of room, and there is a lovely backyard/courtyard just outside the living room door that we would have loved to sit in and enjoy (had it been a bit warmer). Eshyah, the property owner, is very accomodating. We actually took the bus from the airport which lets you out in front of the New Orleans public library, and she was nice enough to come pick us up from the library and take us to the condo (which was about 10 minutes away - if you take a taxi, the fare is under $10).

The location is amazing; we were able to walk everywhere in the French Quarter. You are really just one block up from the top right corner of the Quarter, which meant that Bourbon St. is about four blocks away and the river is about ten blocks away.

My favorite thing about the cottage really was the location. It was so easy to get anywhere and I really enjoyed walking around the city - I felt like I got to know the city that way.

I would definitely recommend this to any couple or pair of friends looking to visit New Orleans. There is really only room for two, so no groups, but it really is a great place to stay and the price is very affordable.
