What a beautiful weekend we had at your cottage!! We were looking for a little get away, a little slow down...we so enjoyed sitting outside on the cottage porch the 1st night we were there, soft music and a glass of wine is just what we needed!!! The cottage was decorated so nice and welcoming :) Robert and Donald were exceptional!! Great hosts, eager to accommodate us in any way!! We also visited there antique shop on Magazine St while we were there and that was truly an educational and inviting experience!! We can not wait till we can go back!! The Cottage will be our little home away from home!!

I love this place so much that I really don't want to tell you about it. I would rather change the dates of my stay than not be able to stay here. Everything is perfect and nicely styled. It is my own little oasis in New Orleans. The owners are so cordial and concerned for your care. They have become like family to us. We prefer to stay away from the quarter and only visit when we need to. World class dining is a block away and dozens of great restaurants and stores are close by. This is my home away from home in Nola. So, please consider staying here, but please don't tell too many people, or I'll never get my reservation dates.

My husband and I went to New Orleans for our 46th anniversary. This was our first time to N.O. and we were lucky to rent the wonderful cottage from Robert and Ronald. They were wonderful to us and Robert took the to answer questions we asked him about Katrina, even though he is a very busy man and it was very late.It is a very updated and clean cottage and we hope we can go to N.O. again and rent from Robert and Ronald,as they make you feel like family and I must say both of them are very charming.

We just stayed here the weekend after Mardi Gras and we have to say Robert and Donald made our stay perfect.
They have thought of every little amenity you may need and more. The cottage is beautifully decorated and cozy. We also had two small dogs who were welcomed and who enjoyed exploring the neighborhood.
The streetcar is very close and makes all the tourist spots very accessible without the burden and hassle of driving into the heart of town and fighting to find parking. Just absolutely loved it there and look forward to returning when it's warmer as we didn't get a chance to sit in the beautiful courtyard right outside our door. Highly recommend a stay here when in New Orleans!Response from Robert Turner or Donald St.Pierre - 02/19/2013

We wanted a homelike feel when we came to visit at the holidays and the cottage did just that. Everything we needed was at our fingertips! The interior was very cozy and comfortable, even though temperatures dipped pretty low while we were there. It was close enough to the Streetcar line that we didn't have to drive to get around. However we had a rental car and street parking was never an issue for the days we ventured out by car instead. There are plenty of nearby groceries stores to choose from if you want to pick up your own food/snacks (Whole Foods & Rouses were great options not to far away). We loved having a full refrigerator and kitchenette with dishes/silverware for the times we ate in. Of course there are plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from, from upscale to hole-in-the-wall. We didn't get to do everything on our to do list, but that just means we will be back! Our hosts were wonderful and accommodating (we arrived late Christmas day and left mid New Year's Day). We were out and about most days so we didn't see them until towards the end of the trip, but no worries, they made is feel right at home and like we were part of an extended family when we finally caught up with one another! :) We will definitely be back!!!

My husband and I stayed at the audubon Garden Cottage for two nights just before Christmas. This is a little gem of a hideaway. We loved how easy it was to get to and from the location. and how easy it was to park! We chose the audubon Garden Cottage for its location (we wanted to be near the Prytania Theatre and close to the University area of Nola). Our choice could not have been more perfect. The St. Charles Street Car was just blocks away. We could walk to Magazine Street and find wonderful restaurants and shops. We could easily access the French Quarter without having to stay in the middle of all of the noise. We would definately recommend this place to others, and would stay here again if we return to Nola,

Left on 11/30/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Robert and Donald are charming and generous hosts who provided just what we needed during our hectic holiday visit with family in New Orleans. We arrived as they were clearing the dishes from their own Thanksgiving dinner with friends & family and - to our surprise- they encouraged us to join them and take away leftovers. We declined because we needed to drop off our things and head back out to meet family but it was a lovely and tempting way to be welcomed. Once they showed us around & got us settled in the cottage we never saw them again. It was truly as if we had our own private garden retreat - furnished with all we needed for breakfast and even snacks - not to mention the weath of information on New Orleans. Parking our car was a cinch on the street by the gate - so convenient. While we hope to get to know Robert & Donald better on a future stay - this was just the type of relaxing space we needed on such a fast paced family visit.

The Garden Cottage was perfect--comfortable, romantic, private, quiet, and well located and stocked. My only hesitation in writing a review is that others will know about it and it may be booked next time!
We loved the neighborhood and found everything very convenient, even on foot. Robert and Donald were gracious and knowledgeable hosts. Breakfast in their garden was a relaxing perk. Even the towels were unusually plush and white!

I would recommend the cottage to anyone coming into New Orleans. It was quite after a long day at the music festival. Its location was also central to many of the entertainment venues within the city. Hosts were great and thought of everything to make our stay more comfortable. The garden area with sitting area was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. We also were really appreciative to Robert allowing us to bring our dog with us. It was nice to not have to leave our family member at home while on vacation.

I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay. The cottage had everything we needed and more - comfortable bed, beautiful furnishings, a fully stocked refrigerator to make breakfast including fresh coffee beans. There is a delightful porch to sit on right outside the door - we loved having morning coffee and a glass of wine there at the end of the day - and also enjoyed the beautiful back yard.
We selected the cottage to be close to our daughter who attends Tulane, but found that we couldn't have picked a more perfect neighborhood to stay in. It is delightful - great Nola architecture, closeby restaurants and shops, we took long walks every morning, its safe, and not far from all the Nola attractions.
The reason the Cottage is so perfect is because of Robert and Donald. They were the perfect hosts who have thought of everything you need to make you feel comfortable and see that your needs are met. They have thought of little things that made such a difference - change for the streetcar, books about Nola, a complete list of what's in the neighborhood - and were always available to answer any questions we had. The Cottage had already been booked for the final part of our stay so they graciously found space for us in their home - which is equally warm and accommodating. We hope to return soonResponse from Robert Turner or Donald St.Pierre - 10/28/2012

We really enjoyed our stay in the Garden Cottage. It is a lovely setting in a quiet neighborhood, the porches were a nice place to relax. The cottage itself is spacious and decorated in a way that made it seem more like a home than a hotel ever could. Our hosts were most gracious, shared information about their city, the area restaurants, how to get around easily and answered questions we had as well. Our refrigerator was stocked with breakfast and snack foods including fresh fruit. And yes, we would definitely stay with them again if we return.

Robert and Donald could not have been more helpful and considerate; as travellers themselves they have insight into what you need as a visitor and have put a lot of thought into what they offer their guests. By the time we set off for N.O. I had lost all the information they had provided when I booked but Robert picked up my distress email sent from La Guardia and the wonderful Stanley, the taxi driver, was there at the airport to greet us and take us where we needed to be. The cottage has character, many interesting things in it; a quantity of books and pictures about N.O.past and present, practical information on getting about, suggestions of places to visit, restaurants etc. The garden is lovely and the neighbours are quiet. The hosts are available if you need them but are not in the least obstrusive. Their love, knowledge and enthusiasm for N.O motivates. We did not have a vehicle, the walk to and from the streetcar didn't bother us; we took a cab home from the Quarter twice, (approx $16). Cinema lovers should check out the independent 'Prytania Theater' nearby. People who want 'anywhere anytown' accommodation, a portion-sized welcome with someone to say 'have a nice day' on exit/entry or a lively bar/disco on each corner probably would not like staying here. We wished we could've stayed longer. If we are lucky enough to return to N.O, Audubon Cottage is where we would want to stay.

This is a beautiful cottage that opens on to a wonderful backyard with sitting areas - secluded and always inviting. The cottage is always very clean and well supplied with goodies to eat/drink (we have stayed there 8+ times?) so always a great place to stop by during a busy day to get refreshed and refreshments. The owners are great - very helpful as regards restaurants/current events/etc. and always make you feel "at home." We travel quite a bit and this is one of our favorite places - will be back again soon. Price is reasonable and you will have a wonderful experience!

Being able to step out into a gorgeous garden with my morning coffee is just the first of many reasons I love to stay here. I can drive, take the streetcar, or walk up to the new things happening on Freret. And one of these days I'll wander around the cemetery across the street. You can see the effort put into maintaining the property - and stocking the fridge with great breakfast items.

My week's stay in the audubon Garden Cottage was an enchantment from start to finish. The cottage itself is elegant and cozy, private and stocked with breakfast and snack goodies. You are in good hands with Donald and Robert, who are courteous, helpful and most generous hosts. I was able to spend many quiet mornings enjoying the view of the garden and writing.
The guest cottage is conveniently located in a lovely neighborhood uptown, allowing one to walk and wander the beautiful streets, parks, cemeteries, shops and restaurants nearby, and also close to the streetcar for trips further uptown or downtown, to the Garden District, CBD and French Quarter.
My fond wish is to return each year, and write more poems on the porch of this exquisite garden cottage. -

I don't want to tell you how great this place was because it will be all booked up the next time I come to New Orleans. Okay, maybe I will share a little bit - 'nawlins is a fun, loud, colorful and crazy place to visit. We had a fabulous time there! The best part? Coming back to the serene, quiet, comfortable oasis of the audubon Garden Cottage each night. I tell ya' - I had to recharge after a day of New Orleans! And this was the place to do it. I didn't get to meet Donald, but Robert was gracious, helpful and thoughtful. I didn't need much information about New Orleans because my daughter lived there and was our tour guide, but I am sure Robert and Donald would be a great help with that also. Robert readily shared his cell phone number with an invitation to call if we needed anything. The audubon Garden Cottage was a really great find on my part, but let's just keep that a little secret, okay?

My favorite place to stay in New Orleans. With a rental car (or with cabs or the St. Charles trolley) it is accessible to all of the city. It is near good food (and drinks) on Freret St (a walk) and on Prytania and Magazine Sts (a short drive). In a residential neighborhood, it is quite and peaceful -- and you have chairs facing the fenced-in lawn. The unit itself is great: the frig is well stocked with breakfast food and snacks, there's a coffee maker and a large size toaster-oven and a microwave -- so you can eat in when you want (a Whole Foods is on Magazine St). Because it is a separate cottage, it has a home-like feel. Plus the owners are friendly and *very* helpful.

My husband and I have stayed at the audubon Garden numerous times the last 3-4 years while our son attends medical school. We particularly like the privacy of the self-contained cottage that opens onto the manicured garden/lawn. The location is within walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, and the St. Charles streetcar so it's easy to get downtown. The cottage is charmingly decorated with great furniture, linens, china, and a well-stocked refrigerator with all the necessities to enjoy your breakfast and snacks without having to dress for a more fomal breakfast gathering. We rather enjoy a leisurely coffee and tea with the newspaper and planning the day's activities. Donald and Robert, both engaging hosts, are well-informed and give expert advice on dining, activities, and Nola history. Once we arrived on the freeway as the Saints were enjoying their Super Bowl win parade downtown. The freeway was gridlocked and vendors were selling t-shirts to the stopped traffic. One of the hosts was able to guide us off the freeway by phone (luckily we were very near an exit) block by block to avoid the congestion - a miraculous feat if you're familiar with downtown Nola- that we could not have accomplished with our navigation system. They will help with anything, once loaning us some cookware that we used at our son's apartment for a special dinner. The only shortcoming is the rather cramped bathroom and shower, but that pales compared to all the other amenities. We have truly enjoyed our visits and consider it a home away from home in New Orleans. We have already booked some time for March and May of this year and look forward to visiting Robert and Donald again.

Thankfully we came across the audubon Garden Cottage and it seemed like the perfect place to spend a few nights and we were not disappointed. Robert and Donald were incredibly kind and thoughtful caretakers. The cottage is tucked into their charming garden yard away from the bustle of traffic and street lights. Everything we needed was provided including change for the trolley cars which run only two blocks away from the cottage. A short walk through their safe and historical neighborhood was all a part of the experience. If we needed anything the guys were happy to make us feel right at home. This cottage is perfect for one or two people that enjoy the trolley for transportation to one of the lovliest cities in the world. We'll be back Robert, David and New Orleans!
