Perfect House
Left on 03/20/2013 for a stay in April 2012
We rented this home for 5 nights in April 2012 and it was perfect for the 5 adults and 2 kids we had staying there. This home is located down a short gravel road away from the main road so it\'s extremely quiet. The home is open, spacious and decorated very tastefully. All of the rooms were clean and modern just like the photos. We cooked almost all of our meals either in the kitchen or on the grill and found it to be very well equipped with pots, pans, utensils and dishes. There is a grocery store about 1 1/2 miles west of the house. The backyard is set up great with a dining table on the lanai and a nice sitting area, where we spent most of our time enjoying the breeze and the amazing view. The lounge chairs wear also very comfortable. Just a few steps down and you are swimming in the beautiful turquoise waters. There is a small, nice, quiet beach to the right of the house. The home has a great location in reference to shopping, eating and other beaches. You can catch the local bus (jitney) right at the end of the driveway and for $1.25 per person it will take you all the way east into downtown Nassau or west to Compass Point. One day our bus driver even took us further west to Love Beach because there was noone else on the bus. We found all the Bahamian people to be extremely friendly. They go out of their way to say hello and help you. East of the house along the main road there is a very nice new sidewalk area to walk. After talking to some local people in town, they recommended a family-owned restaurant called Nesbit\'s near Sandyport. It\'s a small yellow building on the south side of the road with no sign. But the food was fabulous and very well priced. The people from the rental agency were very nice to work with and the owner of the house went over and above to make our stay very pleasant and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone going to New Providence Island and wanting to stay away from the crazy hotel/cruise ship madness.

My husband and I and our four daughters arrived at Oasis to an anticipated week of rest and relaxation. Under uncontrolled circumstances we spent much more of our time indoors than anticipated as Hurricane Sandy chose the same week to visit New Providence Island. We were very thankful for the space that this home offered us. This home is very tastefully decorated and offererd all the emenities of home. Wifi was a huge plus, as was the DVD to allow for some movie watching in the windy evenings. We were able to book a Dolphin Encounter at the Blue Lagoon which we highly recommend as it was a beautiful spot and very well organized. It was about a 15 minute ride into Nassau to shops and of course the straw market. The Jitney was able to be taken from a stop pretty much at the end of the lane to the house. We were able to walk (10 mins) to the grocery store which offered all the items on our list. We frequented the Original Swiss Sweet Shop that was across the road from the Oasis to purchase delicious baked treats. There are restaurants within walking distance too...we had a nice dinner at Olive's Meze Grill one evening. Although our weather was not what we had expected, the Oasis was much more than we could have expected. The home owner Cinta kept in contact with us throughout our stay, she was very genuine with concern of our enjoyment of her vacation rental. We are much appreciative to Val the HG Rental representative who arrived at the home to make sure that we took appropriate action in preparation for Hurricane Sandy. With all this being said we do look forward to another visit to the Bahamas and would love to return to the Oasis!
