the apartment we stayed in in NYC was fantastic..It was walking distance to everthing and was clean and tidy and ready for our late arrival..The doorman across the roas was friendly, helpful and even organised transport back to airport...
Totally comfortable for all 5 of us and we were very happy..

Highly recommended and would stay there again and recommend to our friend..

      Thanks heaps

Stayed here with 4 people for 4 days. Good location and we didn't have any issues with the elevator. Only suggestion would be is to provide more towels, coffee mugs, and paper towels.

Stay somwhere else...no luxury to be found here

Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We recently stayed in these apartments for 2.5 weeks recently and did not enjoy our stay. The biggest issue was the noise. Another review mentioned it but I wish it was clearer how loud the air con compressors are. We loaded a noise meter app on our iphone. The first apt we stayed in (on the 10th floor with the great terrace) measured 65db. We did not get any sleep here. Very disappointing after 24 hours of travelling. We were moved to the top most apt, the noise level was reduced but to only 60db. That was still very noisy and is without the room's air con running. Management claim to have only have had a couple of complaints about the noise before but I don't understand how that can be. It was impossible to leave the air con running in the room. The added noise is just unbearable and even on low is just too cold. So we alternated between, waking up in a sweat to freezing down with the air con, every few hours. If by chance we did manage to sleep for a couple of hours the translucent blinds ensured we woke up again at the crack of dawn. The room on level 17 is opposite some offices that leave lights on 24x7. We had to block out the light at night stuffing clothing around the windows. Otherwise light shone directly onto our pillows. We were not able to have a good rest the entire time in the apartment. It was just ridiculous. Here are some other points to note if you are still considering staying here. The apartments would have been nice at some time but are now very run down. Handles are broken off cupboards, light shades are broken, the lounge is extremely warn, the phone broken and the place is generally grubby. The doormen over the road are very unhelpful and checking in was just opening the door and off you go. And I haven't even mentioned about getting stuck in the lift every other day. Having a laundry was great but the washers and dryers are used by the cleaners and it was very difficult to find them available for use. Find somewhere else to stay!

      A Taste of NYC Living!

Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The concierge, Anthony, was superb! Though the kitchen was not well appointed (only1 wine glass, only 3 coffee mugs), especially for 6 occupants, we could enjoy continental breakfasts at home. There was no dishwasher soap nor dishcloth/sponge so bring your own! Also, bring Mr. Coffee filters if you plan to be drinking coffee.

The elevator got stuck several times on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, then finally shut down until Monday!! At least there was fairly prompt reply when we punched the emergency button in the elevator.

      Apartment wonderful, just as advertised

Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Four of us stayed in this apartment. We are members of an extended family, 3 women and 1 man and we need separate beds. This apartment was perfect for us. Two women shared the king bed separated into twins in one room, a second woman had the other bedroom and the man slept on the fold out couch in the living room and had his own bathroom. The doorman is across the street and let us in early as the apartment was ready. He was very helpful and had some tips on where to find food and showed us around the apartment.

The apartment was clean with ample bedding. The air conditioning worked well. We used the laundry facilities in the basement and found them clean and convenient.

The location was fairly good. We were very close to Korean town and many asian inspired restaurants. We seldom used the closest subway stop as it was for local trains but it was only a 0.5 km walk to the nearest major hub subway stop. You could get anywhere from there.

There were shortages of some items in the kitchen (only 1 wine glass and 3 mugs and no egg lifter) but these must not have bothered us too much as we never bothered the doorman about them and on mentioning it on leaving he wished we had said something.

I was very happy that we chose this apartment - it was everything that it said it was in the ad and that is all I ask.

      Convenient central location

Left on 06/09/2012 for a stay in May 2012

My husband and I were in NYC for four nights with two friends. The apartment is just two blocks from the Empire State building and handy for supermarket, banks, coffee shops etc. The bedrooms were a really good size but the kitchen was tiny. There were four of us staying and there were only three mugs and two wine glasses which meant our first shopping trip involved buying stuff for the kitchen. There were no tea towels or anything to wash up with. We ate out for all meals but it would be useful to have the basic cleaning things for mugs, cups etc. Hopefully this was sorted for the next guests.

2 bedroom appartment in fantastic location

Left on 08/06/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Mum travelling with two sons recently rented this appt at 35 East 32nd St for two weeks. On arrival friendly doorman assisted us with luggage,we were pleased that air conditioning was available and worked really well. 2 b/rooms,(appt could easily sleep 6 if needed) and 2 bathrooms suited our family.Kitchen equipt with most things however we didn't use it as ate out.A laundry in basement was available to use with washer and dryer. Appt spacious, light and all windows could be opened, decor a little tired and a few running repairs needed attending to but on a whole interior fine. Beds comfy and clean. One extremely helpful and courtious aspect about renting this appt was that all my enquiries when booking over the net were answered straight away with a prompt return email, even when i had questions while staying in the appt somebody allways got back to me, this was great! I guess the highlight of this property is it's fantastic location, we could easily access everything, transport eateries supermarket bank and didn't need a car, just stepped out on to 32nd St (b/w Maddison and Park ave)and away you go! Loved the fresh produce store next door, Silo, we ate there a lot during the day. The lift in lobby can be a little slow at times but for us it was a chance to take a breather!
It was a great alternative to staying in hotels, so much more room and being able to be in control of the airconditioning was beaut, it was a great place to stay to see NYC, enjoy!

Almost perfect but still a very good choice of accommodation

Left on 10/16/2010 for a stay in October 2010

As someone who has sayed in Manhattan on around 20 different occassions for both business and leisure I can objectively say that this is almost the perfect place. The location coudl not be better with the 6 Train on the same block, the M5 bus one block away and the N & R lines just over a block away. There are also numerous eating places for breakfast lunch and dinner all within walking distance. Macy's is also just a 5 minute walk away for the shopaholics.

The overall design of the apartment is also very good. A nice sized lounge, two generous sized bedrooms (UK King; us Queens) and two bathrooms. The wireless internet connection is also very welcome.

So - why not 5 stars? The property is so close to a 5 star rating that I am sure if a female associate inspected the place the improvemennt would be automatic - sorry chaps! Here's the list of suggestions from two wives:-

      1. Curtains in the bedrooms please - those gaps around the blinds make us feel uncomfortable!

      2. Dishwasher is welcome, but for those occassions when its not efficient to use - for a few glasses or mugs - a tea towel would be a welcome addition

      3. A machine or dispenser for washing (laundry) powder would be useful - what a waste to buy a giant pack from the drug store for a small wash load

      4. A few arm covers on the sofa and chair would avoid the unsightly staining appearance. A few cushions woudl be nice too.

      5. A second night stand (or lamp) for each bed would save arguments about who was to turn the light out!

      6. A wall mirror in each bedroom is desperately needed - not good to have to come out into the hallway half dressed just to comb your hair!

Finally, there is absolutely no information provided on local information such as nearest drug store, nearest deli, which doctor or dentist to contact. Which restaurants are recommended, limos for the airport etc. All of this is not required for frequent visitors but essential for overseas visitors who will not be familiar with perhaps the us let alone Manhattan. A simple visitors book inviting notes would solve this.

So, in summary - a great place and with a few minor amendments, would make choice for future stays a no brainer. Oh - one final thought - it would avoid all confusion if an email could be sent that said "On arrival please not that the doorman is located in #32 across the street - look out for the Oakwood signs too - as this is the firm who manages the property for us"

      Great Value and Great Location

Nice unit has everything needed for a great weekend in NYC. Two bedrooms and living room had plenty of room for my group of five friends. The door staff made check-in a breeze. The company handling/renting the unit was friendly and pleasant in dealing with. Great location in the heart of all the action. Looking forward to heading back out in the near future.
