Additional Location Information
Midtown East is Manhattan´s densest business district, centrally located, with great transportation (6 subway lines and Grand Central Station). Midtown East completes the New York Corporate image: Financial institutions, law firms and luxurious hotels and magnificent luxury towers. Many ethnic restaurants, cozy cafes, swanky lounges, and a very popular bar scene give this neighborhood more than a modicum of downtown flair. The area is home to many corporations such as Met Life and Citicorp as well as the United Nations. The center of Midtown East is Grand Central Station, which has been magnificently renovated, and is an architectural marvel lined with shops and restaurants. With the art deco Chrysler Building illuminating the skyline, every style of home is available in this neighborhood. Midtown East also has a few notable landmarks to its credit. The Morgan Library and Sniffen Court carriage houses on 36th Street are architectural masterpieces as is the Gilbert-designed Beaux Arts mansion. New luxury high-rise buildings are popular among professionals who choose to live close to work. Despite being one of the busiest places by day, there is no shortage of nightlife here. Numerous delicious restaurants, alluring shops, and jazzy local bars keep residents alive at night.

The tone for our stay was set when the check-in arrangements were not honoured by the managers. Their office, from which the keys must be collected, is several blocks distant from the apartment. They knew we could be arriving as late as midnight - in fact we arrived at their office around 10:30 p.m. - but they closed their office at 10 p.m. without warning us. To be fair, they tried to reach my foreign mobile, but this was unexpectedly not picking up a signal in NYC. I tried to call their out-of-office emergency number, but this only went through to an answerphone (twice) and no one acted on the message I left. Not much of an "emergency" number. So we were left to fend for ourselves with no accommodation in the middle of an unfamiliar city on the first night - not pleasant. The managers did acknowledge this mistake and made a substantial refund when I complained the next day.
Again to be fair, the check-out arrangements on the day of departure were customer-friendly as we simply had to leave the keys in the apartment.
The apartment gets a lot of traffic noise, especially in the morning rush hour. The Midtown Tunnel exit road is right next to the apartment block. This is closed at night, but after it opens in the morning (6 a.m.?) the traffic noise is very loud inside the apartment and woke us up each day of our stay. Only the soundest slleepers would get back to sleep.
The apartment itself is poorly laid out (you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other) and the kitchen and bathroom are both very small (which we expected from the photos). Beware: it is a galley ktchen with barely enough space for one person at a time. The two bedrooms are spacious and the living room is a reasonable size, although the TV screen is small. Wi-fi worked well and was a fast connection.
The common areas (entrance and stairway) are in a shabby condition and the noise from these areas can be clearly heard withn the apartment. Some of the other residents in the block were not thoughtful, slamming doors and talking loudly on the stairs, so be prepared for some noise disturbance at all hours.
The apartment's only selling point is its location - very central for a NYC city break being on East 35th Street. Less than 10 minutes' walk to the subway (on a useful line too , Line 6) and a fast 20 minutes' walk to Times Square. A good range of shops and restaurants is nearby on 3rd Avenue.Response from New York Hospitality Services - 11/06/2012

This is a good option if you are looking to stay in Manhattan on a budget. The rooms are spacious and clean if not luxurious. The staff is helpful. If you are expecting the The Plaza, you will be disappointed, but if you just need a space for some rack time this may be just what you are looking for.

Actually it is not really a hotel, but a very comfortable and cute apartment, perfectly located on Manhattan in a walking distance from all landmarks, subway and rail road station. In reality apartment looks exactly the same as on photos or maybe even better. We have stayed there for 2 nights and managed to live in two different apartments. Both apartments were very clean, in a good condition and well supplied with all necessary things such as fridge, iron, microwave, teapot, set of kitchen staff, etc. From hotel's personnel we have met only clean lady who was very friendly with us. There were three of us, and we felt very comfortable there, but i suppose that for 6 people the apartment will be relatively small. It will be good for no more than four people (better couples, since they have two double beds and one sofa, with can be transformed in a double bed as well, in a first apartment they even have a bed for a little baby). The other thing is that they do not have a baggage room for the guests, but it is not a big problem, since you can leave your things on Penn Station or in the hall upon agreement with a doorman.

We stayed in New York for the New York International Gift Fair. The apartment is close to the Javits Convention Center.
The apartment has a kitchen so that you can cook in the apartment.
