Everything was fine until 2 weeks before our arrival date. My credit card was charged with the remaining balance at this time without my authorization. When I called the company, they said they couldn't get a hold of me. The emailed me the day the charged my credit card and said "non responsive". This was the only attempt at communication. The instructions on the lease stated we could pay the remaining balance upon arrival. Hurricane Sandy hit the week before the arrival, so we called to see if we could cancel. They said no, so we went anyways. When we arrived, they had double booked the apartment and were not going to give us a place to stay. After a while on the phone and the exchange of unpleasant words, we were given a place that needed cleaning.

The apartment was roomy enough for four women and we each had a comfortable bed to sleep in, plus 2 bathrooms which helped us get ready each morning! The kitchen served its purpose and we lounged in the living room each night to discuss the days events and check out our purchases. We felt very comfortable walking everywhere and eventually hopped on and off the subway like we were locals. Each night after a play we would walk home from Time Square and take a different route, stopping to buy different fancy deserts and enjoying them with tea before we retired for the night! The Greyline 24 Hr hop on hop off Tour was awesome as well. We went one afternoon til the evening ((shopped all over the place (Filene's Basement, DSW, Macys and Century 21)) and then again the next morning to the World Trade Center museum and the Staten Island Ferry. The staff at Staysmart NYC was very helpful and professional. We really felt like locals living in our own NYC apartment!!
