DordrechtPleasant experience
Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed for a week in Harlem, New York.
Milton was our landlord, and not a bad one. He is an so called afro-American, speeks "jolly good" English, and knows a lot about his country, as a real patriot does.
His apartments were clean, there was no lack of any bed or bathroom stuff, privacy quarenteed, the heater was working, no noise at all, and , what we Dutch always like: he rented his tree bikes... for free. Yes, a great Landlord.
If you like to visit NY, and if you dare to visit Harlem with the famous apollo theatre and all the shops, good restaurants and Graffiti , Milton is the best man you can get. And, amazing...: you can trust the man, he is educated, but ...still believes in the american Dream. We tried, but failed to transform him to a higher level of consciousness. But, still, he played his part as landlord wonderfully and at the end we liked him very, very much.
The four elderly Dutch.

Fabulous stay
Left on 01/08/2013 for a stay in November 2012
This was our fourth time to Manhattan and we wanted to stay someplace different and a little bit more residential as we were traveling with our children. We were a little hesitant to stay in Harlem with our kidos and we were so glad we did!! I absolutely love New York hence the fourth visit to "vacation" but i think it really says a lot when our stay at this apartment was the best thing about our trip!! We had a blast in the city but it definitely felt like we were coming home every evening. the apartment came fully stocked with towels and extra blankets. Milton, the owner even provided a roll away bed so that my son didn’t have to bunk up with his older sisters. . the subway was very accessible, only one block away and was absolutely safe even as we arrived back in early morning hours. There was also a bar just a block down that my husband and i visited and felt totally safe leaving our teenage daughters and son alone at the apartment while we had a drink Milton was a fabulous host and was very accommodating to whatever times we needed to check in and out. He often checked on us and made sure we were having a blast. My 12 year old took quite a liking to Mr. Milton and even gave him a huge hug as we were leaving. Milton even ordered us a car so we did not have the hassle of locating a cab back to the airport. i absolutely cannot say enough positive things about this stay. we definitely feel like we now have a real home in our home away from home and will never stay any place else but these fabulous apartments. : )

This apartment was great - spacious, comfortable and conveniently located near public transport, shops and restaurants. You can also cook your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The owner, Milton Wilson, was very nice and helpful. You have everything you need here to have a wonderful stay in New York.

My friend and I stayed in Milton's very comfortable and spacious apartment for five nights. We arrived late (midnight) but Milton was there to meet and greet and give handy tips. The apartment is extremely spacious and comfortable (I love that bed!) and the futon in the sitting room apparently very good too. It is in a lovely brownstone and just around the corner from a subway. It was my first trip to NY, so my first time to Harlem too, and the neighbourhood was totally fine with handy shops at the end of the street and also a couple of great eateries right near by. I can't recommend this place - and Milton - enough and it was also unbeatable in terms of prices being at least 50% cheaper than any other places I looked in to. Merci Milton!

I stayed at this apartment with some friends and we loved it. It was very clean and comfortable. we were very close of the train station and we always arrived late-night and never had problems. The owner is a very nice person, kind, welcoming and always available.everything works at the apartment, the kitchen is fully equipped. It was a very nice expirience, I would not only repeat it, but also recommend it to my friends.

The resident landord, Milton Wilson provided charm, service and thoughtful advice for our weeks stay in Harlem. We could access midtown, downtown and every where else easily on the underground and then retreat to our very comfortable apartment. Harlem has character by the bucketload. Apartment facilities where very good and provided great value for money.

I had a mixed business and pleasure trip in January, and Milton's apartment and hospitality was just wonderful. Having a full kitchen and separate bedroom was luxurious, and the location is super convenient. I'm already planning to return! Highly recommended.

In general this is a very nice apartment. It has been well maintained and is modern. The apartment comes well equipped with kitchen equipment and fresh towels. There is not an awful lot to do in the direct vicinity of the apartment itself, but for the price you can't go wrong and it is located very close (2 min walk) to a subway station which makes getting around the city fairly easy/quick.
The owner of the apartment is one of the nicest people that you are likely to meet and is happy to help you with should you need anything. -

The apartment is beautiful, spacious (dining room, kitchen, bathroom and big bedroom), and bright, placed on a calm street of Harlem, conveniently close to the metro station, to the bust stop of the direct bus for/to LaGuardia airport and to some shops (including pharmacy, drugstore and supermarket). The owner is an elegant and nice person, kind, welcoming and always available. The apt was warm and perfectly clean at the arrival. The kitchen is fully equipped and all the rooms are well-lit and well-furnished.

I booked this last minute as my lodging plans fell through. The owner, Mr. Wilton was such a pleasure to deal with - very straightforward, friendly, and caring. The apartment is nicely furnished, everything "works", and very comfortable and accommodating for a long stay. I was new to the neighborhood and I found it to be very vibrant and safe, subway is a 3 minute walk, CVS on the corner, and a short walk to Central Park. Would most definitely stay here again"

It was a great surprise to see that everything that I had read about the apt in de advertising was real.
Well located, very comfortable, very clean, spacious, with all that you might need and more.
The landlord, Milton was very kind, always present and helpful and trying to solve everything.

Me and my daughter (15) had a 9 day -vacation in New York City. Staying in Mr. Wilsons apartment (3rd floor, 2 narrow stairs up) was the right thing to do. We loved it, loved the whole house and the neighbourhood too!
The apartment is full of light (6 windows), nicely decorated and well equipped. Living room is big and bedroom huge (bed is good). Bathroom looks new. Kitchen is modern and has all you need for cooking.
House is quiet; I usually don´t sleep well when I´m travelling but this time I slept very well.
There is a view to the beautiful garden from the bedroom. Mr. Milton takes good care of his hidden oasis. It was good to wake up into concertto of birds in the morning!
Mr Wilson is the nicest gentleman on Earth & truly a good person! Full of joy and kindness. He really wants his guests to enjoy living in Harlem and staying in NYC. On our arrival night he came upstairs with a bouqet of roses (from his garden)!
The location of the apartment is great. We walked a lot around Harlem, used all trains (D was our favourite) & did a lot of shopping there. Harlem Meat (good bread, fresh meat & cheese, vegetables, berries and fruits, very friendly, close to D-train station), Tonnie´s Minis (cup cakes, on Lennox ave.), Apollo theatre (fantastic soul night on Wednesday), Harlem Underground (t-shirts, friendly), Studio Museum in Harlem (free on Sundays) etc.
Harlem is very relaxed, people living there are friendly and always willing to help.
We took the taxi from JFK to 126th st; 55 dollars + tips. The D-train comes all the way from Howard Beach to 125th street, the apartment is about 1 km from the D-station.
If there is one thing I would add into the apartment´s closets it would be a vacuumer (or something else to clean up the floors with).

Left on 06/16/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Our daughter found the website this rental was listed on and I checked out the pictures and the reviews. Based on the reviews (from all over the world) and the fact that it was only two blocks from where our daughter lives, I made the reservation. There are two subway stops within one to three blocks of the apartment. Being Starbucks fans, there were two locations within three blocks as well. The apartment came full stocked with linens, the kitchen was fully stocked as well. There were a number of good to excellent restaurants to eat out at within walking distance plus places to buy the necessities of life, including food. We enjoyed meeting and spending time chatting with Milton, an added bonus to the stay. Because we don't need maid service everyday, because this fit our traveling budge perfectly, because LaGuardia was within 30-45 minutes(depending on traffic)of the apartmenet, renting this apartment was the perfect solution for us

I spent a month with my daughter in Harlem. For some years I had dreamt about living an "everydag life" in New York. This vacation turned out to be all that I had wished. The apartment, the garden, the neigbourhood, the nearby gym.. everything was excellent. And Milton was very nice and wanted us to feel at home. Which we did. At home, at ease and very glad!

What a fantastic apartment!! Stayed for 9 nights and had an incredible time. The apartment was perfect! A secure apartment, roomy, comfortable, spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water, nice kitchen (even had fresh coffee, cereal, milk, eggs, pasta, bacon, juice all waiting when we arrived!!). Nice and quiet and only one block from the subway. Milton is a delight, a warm and friendly man, so helpful and available whenever you needed him, a wonderful man!! I cannot recommend this apartment enough. Harlem is fantastic, friendly, safe and so much to see!! Thankyou Milton for a wondeful stay!

This is my first review and it is my pleasure to share it. In October 2010, I stayed ath this Harlem Townhouse apartment in New York City with my wife at the suggestion of a friend. My stay could not have been better. The apartment is very comfortable, user friendly, clean, quiet and spacious. The subway and bus stop was just a one minute walk from the apartment. There are also grocery stores, a pharmacy and restaurants nearby.
MidTown was just a 10 minute subway ride away. I would also suggest walking around in Harlem as it is very safe and interesting. The owner was very available, helpful and extremely kind. I would definitely stay there again. -

I'm not one to generally write reviews so apologies in advance if I rant for too long.
I am rather embarrassed to admit that I gave the Landlord, Milton a very hard time in the run up to my stay. I harrassed him over every minor detail as it was my first time ever renting through the internet so I was very nervous about encountering some kind of scam, or a poorly kept apartment.
This apartment was everything I wanted and something extra, it was spacious, fully equipped, internet access, brand new bathroom. No bed bugs in sight (which was one of my biggest fears).
Milton, was more than just your average landlord, extremely accommodating and paid attention to detail.
The apartment was a short walk to the train station, bus stops, and the infamous apollo is literally 10 minutes walk away (yes I time it!)
There were two different grocery stores conveniently situated on both streets either side of the apartment.
My initial concerns of renting in this way were unwarranted. I'd definitely stay here on in any other of this Landlord's apartments again. -
