Additional notes from owner
The time frame that the property is available is from a minimum of 4 nights to a maximum of 15 nights at any one visit to be paid with cash upon arrival. I am slightly flexible on the length of stay.
To reserve the dates for a booking I follow the process that is suggested by FlipKey for a safe and enjoyable transaction for both parties.
Once you have contacted me and we find that the apartment is available for the period of time that you are interested in, we secure the booking by having me send you a rental agreement that we both complete and you return the agreement with a deposit that can be secured either through a personal check provided there is enough time for the check to clear, or you can leave the deposit through PayPal.
I will be here when you arrive to give you keys, show you around, answer any questions you might have and recieve payment for your stay.
I also will give you my cell phone number so in the rare event that you may need me I can come right over in very short time.
The apartment speaks for itself but I will also be available to do anything I can to make your stay as perfect as it can be.
You will be very happy!

This is a large one bedroom self contained unit on the 17th floor of a lovely apartment building. David was prompt and helpful in all of our correspondence and the unit is just as described in terms of convenience and facilities. I am recommending to all that they plan their New York trip around the availability of this property. We loved New York, and we loved David's place!

This one BR unit is someone's home, so don't expect chocolates on your pillow. it's quirky, perfectly located, with interesting precincts - Chelsea, the High Line, Flatiron district, Gramercy Park, Washington Square, East and West Village, SoHo, NoHo etc etc - a walk away. The subway is virtually at the bottom of the building, there's a discount bottle shop around the corner, and nearby restaurants and cafes of all descriptions provide a range of dine in, take out, casual/more upmarket options. The building is secure and great views are to be had from the init's balcony and the 34th Floor rooftop terrace. We most valued its location, access to laundry facilities, access to WiFi and the great king-size bed!

Great shopping, Amazing food and conviently close to the subway
Left on 10/29/2012 for a stay in October 2012
David's place was very easy to get to and perfectly located in his neighborhood, close to all kinds of shopping and great places to eat. Our week in NY was beautiful so we walked to most places but we also took atvantage of the subway being so close by and incredibly convienent when you needed to get somewhere quick. Staying at Davids made our trip very easy and it was nice to not have to eat out all week long.

Our stay at this condo in NYC was great! The condo was very clean, and the owner kindly has detailed information about the condo and the surrounding areas and suggestions for places to eat and shop. We were able to use our laptop at the condo and had all the comforts of our own home. This was so much nicer than staying in a hotel and much more spacious. The owner was so kind to ship items we left back to us. Thanks again. We will be back.

Owner is so easy to work with and trust worthy. Corresponds very quickly and informatively. We've always stayed mid town in the past because we thought that was "close to everything" but this location has less crowds and is literally steps away from a major subway stop so you can get anywhere in minutes.. no traffic, no weather. He doesn't advertise it enough but one of our favorite features is the balcony sitting over broadway. Great view.. so cool. And a roof top patio 30 floors up with amazing views and park like lounging. Accomodations are clean but basic. Not luxurious,as furnishings are older, little quirks here and there and floors are creaky etc.. but space is very large for NYC. Very safe high rise building with doorman. And no issues with noise from streets or neighbors. The bed is huge and very comfortable. (and I'm picky about beds)
Some rentals are set up more like a hotel and only used for short term rentals. But this is just the owners actual apartment, a bachelor's pad so to speak that he vacates for rentals. But it does give you more of the feeling of being a real New Yorker. Go shopping for groceries right across the street... cook in your own well stocked kitchen, eat on your own balcony over Broadway. Great for half the price of hotel. -

Really nice apartment with excellent space and views of New York - in an excellent location in the Village with easy access to all of New York (there are 2 tube stations located near by)
Make sure you go up on the roof in both night-time and day - the views are amazing!Response from David Gellman - 06/25/2012

Wow Mike...I cannot thank you enough for the glowing review. I had a feeling when you first walked in that you were really happy with everything.
Something funney happened right when you were leaving. When you were walking out of the building and I ran out to say goodbye to both of you, when I came back into the building my doorman looked at me and said (about you) "nice couple..such a nice couple!".
But I already knew that! -

I travelled with my partner and this apartment was fantastic for us! David met us on arrival and made sure we were comfortable. Everything you need is in the apartment, including a very comfortable bed! The only thing I was looking for and couldn't find was a kettle, but it wasn't really an issue.
The laundry is right outside the door, there are 24 hr shops across the street, metro is just outside the door, and another one 2 min walk - you can get anywhere you need from this apartment!
If shopping is a requirement, there are plenty of stores just down the road, and you can even see Empire State Building if you walk a block to the North! Plus the view from the window was fantastic! Overall, a great NY experience!Response from David Gellman - 01/30/2012
Owner
Thank you for your wonderful review. I just want to tell you that your comment about the kettle was very helpful as I immediately went out and purchased one after reading about it.
Now you can feel comfortable knowing that if you decide to come back in the future there will be a lovely kettle waiting for you. -

Not much to say other than this was an excellent vacation rental - good location, really clean and spacious apartment with laundry facilities just across the hall, and a balcony with a great view down lower Broadway. You'd pay five times this price for a hotel room in the same location one-fifth the size. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for nine nights in September 2011. As the description says, it's right in Greenwich Village (sort of between the West and East Villages), overlooking Broadway. Extremely convenient for everything, clean, spacious and quiet. We'd definitely book again.

Hi Ed,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.....does that get my appreciation across?
I am really happy you had such a good visit and hope we do it again someday. Although I hope I no longer have to.

Stayed here with my wife and we had a terrific experience. If you love downtown manhattan - and want the amenities of a luxury high rise - this place is perfect. It's located in Greenwich Village and close to everything - great restaurants, shopping, etc. You can easily walk to all the trendy neighborhoods - east/west village, soho, tribecca, lower east side, Union Square, and the Flatiron district. The subway (N,R train) is right outside the door and can take you pretty much any where else. The block is well lit and lively so we felt safe coming and going at all hours. Especially with 24 hour doorman.
The unit itself was quiet and comfortable with decent furnishings. While not luxurious it had all the necessities and a few extras that made it special, like a nice sized balcony with excellent view and inviting wood decking, table and outdoor chairs.
The kitchen, bedroom, and bath provided essentials. Living room is large with a dining nook at one end and home/office set-up at the other. The prerequisite flat screen TV and Wifi worked fine.
The owner is a decent guy who will go out of his way to make you comfortable. Overall, we were extremely happy with our choice and would definitely stay here again.
