The good news is the location and the Deli under the apartment is excellent. It is easy access to Times Square and pick up points for Hop on Hop off tours as well as a great selection of restaurants. The bad news is the apartment needs a major clean, numerous maintenance,repairs and a complete restock of the kitchen. I cannot believe the owner is allowing what was once an excellent apartment literally fall apart due to lack of maintenance. The list is nearly endless as what needs to be improved in the apartment. Some of the major repairs include the main bedroom floor as the timber has lifted so much you have to step over it when you wake up in the morning to get out of bed.The toliet roll holder is broken so the roll sits on the bathroom sink, mould over the tiles,some power points dont work, bathroom sink plug doesnt work, bathroom door doesnt close properly , the door into the second bedroom has been punched in so the owner laminated photos to stuck them on the door to cover the hole,dining room seats are stained and need cleaning etc etc. It is advertised to accommodate 4 to 6 people...however you dont have enough cutlery or crockery to cater for more than 3 people. The list goes on...the weekly rate has now increased to $2000...let me emphasise this is not a luxury apartment...it is a 2 to 3 star apartment on level 2 of a modern building facing 10th avenue. The noise is unbelieveable in the morning due to roadworks and building works outside so bring your ear plugs. Think the owner sees this as a cash cow and doesnt spend any of the money on basic maintenance and repairs as well as maintaining what was a wonderful asset. Also this is actually a large 1 bedroom apartment that has been converted to 2 bedrooms so dont expect great air circulation in the apartment.

This apartment is within a few minutes walk to pretty much everything! and lets face it, in New York, you dont expect to spend most of your time in an apartment/hotel, so being able to walk to central park, time square and eat street (36th) in minutes is handy. The only negatives were a few maintenance issues, also the previous guests had punched not 1 but 2 holes in our bedroom door, one of which you could see straight through, despite the patch up job. The property could have been cleaner, the sheets felt dirty and top blanket was musty. Overall the location really is what your going for here and for that reason i would recommend.
