This apt. was a total disaster...
There wasn't 1 roll of toilet paper. The bathroom was gross, the tub/shower had several varieties of mold growing on the tiles and no hoter water, dirty toilet and floor...I went to my daughter's apt to shower, just couldn't bring myself to stand in the mold box...
The dishes, cups & utensils were dirty... picked up disposable utensils at a couple of diners...The apt smelled of gas, the pilot lights werent on & it was gross even touching the stove, coffee maker was dirty and yucky...
The lock on the door was broken, called about it twice, was told it wasn't broken, the building was safe & no one would break in, say what? It's freakin NYC...I kept calling until someone came over, (I was not nice to them at all) & they decided that, in fact the door lock was broken, so I waited there while the door lock was completely changed out.
Hairs on the sheets and sort of smelly, so glad I brought my Lysol.
Do not stay here...wish I could get all or part of my money back.

Let me start with stating that I didn't stay in #20 Orchard Studio, but in #11 on Third, roughly same nieghbourhood though. I can only stay good things about the landlord, the service, the apartment and the neighbourhood. The price is a real steal, the apartment was clean, comfy and secure. We really felt at home:) Lower East Side / East Village is a great neighbourhood for younger people, lots of bars and restaurants and lively streets. The apartment #11 on Third was in the backhouse and pretty quiet at night. I plan to come back soon to NYC and will definately book a place over manhattanbnb.com again. Thanks John & Co for making our holiday a great experience!
