This semi detached fisherman's cottage is by the harbour in Newlyn in Cornwall and can sleep five people in three bedrooms. Chirgwin Cottage is a 17th Century fisherman's cottage located right beside the 12th Century harbour at Newlyn between Penzance and Mousehole in Cornwall. With two double bedrooms, one single and a family bathroom, this cottage can sleep five people. Also within the cottage is a fitted kitchen with a gas AGA and a dining area and a first floor sitting room with spectacular views over the harbour across Mount’s Bay to St Michael’s Mount. Outside the cottage is a shared rear courtyard with a private garden and... covered area with furniture in the cottage’s old net loft. Superbly located in the centre of a gorgeous, Cornish fishing village, Chirgwin Cottage is a real taste of Cornwall.

Amenities: Gas central heating. Gas AGA, microwave, fridge, small freezer, washing machine, TV, DVD. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Fixed stairgate. Free designated parking space in private area of public car park 100 yards from property. Shared rear courtyard with private garden area and covered area with furniture in the cottage’s old net loft. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Note: Front door to property is in a covered alleyway, which leads directly onto the road.

Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: Newlyn is a lovely harbour village on the Cornish coast, between Mousehole and Penzance. Working fishing fleet still land their catch from the harbour, which makes for fascinating viewing on a morning stroll. St Michael’s Mount can be seen rising from the waters in the distance, and a trip over the causeway to this famous landmark is a must. The Cornish coastal path runs close to Newlyn, and walkers can enjoy a host of interesting wildlife and plant species, as well as stunning views. There are great beaches in the area, and Mounts Bay offers a variety of watersports. With the Tate at St Ives, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan within easy reach, this is a wonderful holiday destination.Read more

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  We love West Cornwall, but now have extra happy memories of it following our stay in Chirgwin Cottage. The views across Mounts Bay from the sitting room are wonderful, and the cottage has a homely feel, made especially cosy by the brillaint red aGa.

  Lovely weekend

  Sykes Holiday Cottages cannot be faulted for their customer care...felt I had known the ladies I talked to for years!!! The cottage was delightful with the most amazing sea view across Marazion bay. Sitting in the window seat with a glass of wine watching the sun go down was bliss. Walking distance of Penxance and Mousehole, and Newlyn had everything we needed for everyday living.
  The only thing I would say is that the stairs were extremely steep, and as the kitchen is on the ground floor and the sitting room is on the first floor, had to be negotiated regularly. For someone less agile it would prove to be a problem. Apart from that couldn't fault the cottage.
