We had a GREAT family reunion with children and grandchildren (all adults!) from North Carolina, Utah and California. Much better than a 5 star hotel for that purpose. A lot of visiting (and eating) in the kitchen. Great location.

not real user friendly for the kids, and too maney restrictions, sand on the floor!! (it's on a beach) and counter top concerns. Also,with no screens on the doors or windows in order to enjoy the nice breeze we had to put up with flies everywhere not fun!! nice place if you don't have small children.

Great location, very roomy, nicely appointed home,accessible to both Balboa and Newport piers, the beach is not too crowded and the ocean water is clean with great waves for surfing. what more could you ask for?

For such an expensive high end rental the owner needs to spend $100 at Ikea or crate & barrel and equip the kitchen properly for the amount of people it sleeps. there was not 1 cutting knife. bread knife. Not one large pan to saute anything (I bought one and left it there!!) one more large pot. Set of champagne glasses. It was ridiculous not to be able to make pancakes in the morning!!

I noticed when I looked back at my invoice, that the Burr White Agent did not break out her fee - my guess is I got arb'd pretty good relative to the owner what I paid what the Agent/Burr White got. The property was way over-priced to the market. The floors in the house were dirty the overall condition of the property was poor - carpeting was in the bedrooms was stained old. Notwithstanding the pictures of cozy fireplaces jacuzzi tub, I arrived to find a notice that I was not allowed to use the Fireplaces - the key to turn the gas on, was gone. The notice on the Kitchen table also informed me that the Jacuzzi Tub in the Master Bedroom was not functioning could not be used - even though there were wonderful pictures on the web site. None of this was disclosed in my conversations with Jane T. of Burr White when I rented the house - total misrepresentation. Two days before we left, a notice was put on the garage door that the house was under request for permit to tear it down for a new house to-bebuilt. for all of that I paid $11,000 for 4/3-4/13 - in this market, for the quality of the product I won't go into all the details, but the house is nothing like the pictures basically a dump - as evidenced by the notice on the garage from the city (tear-down). I have rented 40-50 rental homes from Qwest on the outerbanks of NC also at least once prior from Burr WHite in Newport beach at least once, this was the worst rental experience I have ever had.

We rented a beach front property in August; the property was advertised as a luxury house, with the price to go with it ($10,000 per week). The house was damp, very poorly equipped (non-functioning master bathroom, broken door lock, virtually empty ktichen). Indeed, there was a planning notice on the house detailing an application for its demolition. Burr White had virtually no interest in our problems, failing to visit the property and have not responded to our emails. We left after 2 nights and will seek a refund. Bear in mind that Burr White act for the property owners and once they have your money have no interest in you as a customer. The rental contract gives you no protection (read the small print); you cannot believe their advertising, so I advise you to rent from them with extreme caution.
