Put one mark down for the lighthouse and thriving tide pools at the Yaquina Head Natural Area. Here, you can meet protected critters such as sea anemones, goose barnacles, hermit crabs, starfish and sea slugs. The Oregon Coast Aquarium deserves a score as well. Its natural-habitat exhibits feature seabirds, seals, octopus, sea otters and wolf eels. Between these stops, walk down to the pounding surf and breathe in the fresh salt air of the historic Newport waterfront. Close up your file with a soak in the tub back at your resort—located just beyond the beach.

We used our time-share through RCI here with our friends. The place had just suffered a major storm hit and had some storm damage to our unit. It was listing a bit due to some wash-out of soil and concrete but we had a blast anyway. We loved the pool and sauna and the hot tub. Its so close to town you could spit and hit it but far enough out for some quiet and privacy. Big master room with a wonderful large tub. The other bedroom was nice also.
Worth the money and the staff was extremely friendly and greeted us with warm cookies. -

It was my wife, my daughter, her husband and two young children, and myself that stayed here. We were pretty tired when we arrived. Lucky for us that the young lady working the front desk was very cheery and helpful. It made the process of checking in easy.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit with a loft. It was quite spacious and my grandkids enjoyed running around in all that extra room after being cooped in a car and a small hotel room. The unit was clean, there was a jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, a flat screen tv and a fireplace in the living room. It was very cozy.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They happily provided us with a high chair for our grandson and even a screen for the fireplace so they would not burn their little hands. Then John, the maintenance man, gave us a tip on where to get a great pizza. Boy that was good!
It would of have been nice to have a washer dryer in the unit but at least they provided a place to do laundry onsite. One thing we were not pleased with is that they let the outside ashtrays overflow (gross!).
We did not have much of a view of the ocean but that was ok. It was just a short walk or if you were not up to the walk there was a little road so you could drive down. I thought the beach was pretty nice and plenty of room to run and try to fly a kite. I did not have much success flying that kite but sure had fun trying.
We all enjoyed our stay there and would enjoy staying there again sometime.
