This wing to the owners' farmhouse is one mile from the town of Newton Stewart close to Galloway Forest Park and can sleep two people. Nether Barr Farmhouse is a cottage that adjoins the owners' 19th century farmhouse, located one mile from Newton Stewart, near to Galloway Forest Park in Southern Scotland. This cottage has one twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room, making it suitable for two people. This all ground floor cottage also contains an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining and a living area. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

We arrived with our working Springer Bow ( first time away from home )Bow that is not us! To a cottage at the end of a long drive, Very secluded but with easy access to shops etc.if needed. The veiws are to die for, with the river, cows, wildlife and hills to gaze at. Ideal location for all activities, Man & Beast alike, a very dog friendly area.Exactly as advertised. Nether Barr was a very comfortable cottage in a good location for the area and for what we required. There was an easy path walk 1 mile to Newton Stewart and a 45 minute drive to Cairnryan to catch the ferry to Ireland. We really enjoyed the large window overlooking the adjoining farm and river with 2 very comfortable easy chairs taking advantage of the views. the ensuite bathroom was large and well appointed. The kitchen area is small but adequate. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

The Sykes service was excellent.
The service at the cottage was superb.
Location and amenities right up our street.
Newton Stewart , within easy reach. Shops and Cafes very welcoming for our dog.
Must See:- Galloway Wildlife Park near to Castle Douglas.Shaded area for parking if you have a dog with you.
Ideal for everything described in advertisement.
We will be back soonest.

A charming cottage ideal for two sharing. Wildlife abounds in the garden which naturally extends into open countryside. It makes for the most relaxing of times. Cottage amenities were all in order. We never saw anyone supervising the cottage either on our arrival or before we departed but information provided was quite comprehensive. Highly recommended but don't all go as we shall probably want a gap in next year's calendar for our own return!

The off road path into the town centre of Newton Stewart was an added bonus.

Lovely enclosed garden - ideal for dogs. The cottage certainly lives up to its 4 star rating (should be 5 star). Very clean and comfortable cottage and the views from the picture window were magnificent with the scenes changing constantly near the riverside. Overall, a very peaceful, cosy and very private setting. We will visit again.

the view's from Nether Barr Farmhouse are stunning and the garden beautiful from the fruit trees and when you look around the garden you find something new just around the corner a little seat to read a book...at night you see bats flying around...in all a diamond in the ruff...
