Black IsleFantastic home from Home!
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The house is small but perfectly formed, with eveything that you need, washing machine, dishwasher, clothes horse, etc. The decor is lovely and up to date, it has a secure garden which is a bonus, if like us you have a dog. We saw three red squirrels on the first morning of our stay, and at least one everyday after that!
It is an ideal location for the Highland Folk Museum which is just across the road, Newtonmore Riding Centre, for pony trekking and don't forget the Wildcat Experience which is a must, it is also close to watersports, and plenty of cycling and walking routes. The Glen Hotel does a lovely bar meal, would recommend booking first though.
The welcome info might need updated though as there was no recycling centre at Glen Road carpark, the previous tennent had left glass in the recycling bin, so it did not get collected while we we there, maybe due to this. The kitchen could do with a baking sheet or two, and a knife sharpener, but these are just trivial points. I would recomend this proprty to friends, and also book it again. We had a lovely time here. -

Leven Fifecomfortable, clean, modern and very peaceful
Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This is a very modern clean and comfortable cottage set in a peaceful location. Plenty of birds and red squirrels visit on a daily basis looking for their breakfast.
Newtonmore itself has plenty to do, all within easy walking distace - The Highland folk museum, The Macpherson museum( Both of which are free entry) and beautiful walks up the back of the town where if you go at dusk, you can see herds of deer. This is a lovely place to take dogs.
There is also a competition to find as many large scottish wild cats, which are hidden in gardens etc all over the town - great fun for the kids.
All in all this is a great cottage in a great location. Would definately go back.

SheffieldThis is a 'mini' home-from-home!
Left on 11/15/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Excellent accommodation. Everything was new, clean and comfortable. The heating was very efficient, so much so that we didn't really need the log burner (which we were looking forward to!)despite near freezing temperatures.
Plenty to do and see in the local area and further afield.
It would have been useful to know that there was a well stocked co-op nearby and it would have saved us bringing lots of food with us.
We'll definitly try to visit again. It's just a pity that it's not bigger so that we could take friends with us!

GuildfordConvenient location, cosy accommodation
Left on 10/11/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Well appointed, dog friendly, cosy cottage. Kitchen small but well equipped, (except for ovenware). Heating very efficient, but electronic controls need attention - only able to control manually. Woodburning stove excellent, produces heat ++, with very little fuel.
Cottage in great location for most attractions as well as hill walking areas. Highland Folk Museum nearby, admission free!! and worthwhile, interesting visit. Red squirrels are frequently seen both at the museum and the cottage. -

SheffieldSunny summer in Scotland!
Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Ideally situated for walking into the small town of Newtonmore which had plenty of places to eat and drink as well as places of interest to visit. We needn't have driven all week had we not been curious to see the Cairngorms.
Cottage was well resourced and very clean. The patio garden was sunny throughout the day and evening so breakfast and tea could be eaten outdoors. -

Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Having stayed in other rental cottages a few times this cottage was in a class of its own! We were very comfortable and loved the week we stayed. The owner had obviously put a lot of thought into what would help to make the stay comfortable. The house was very well equipt from dvds, games to everything you would ever need in the kitchen. The cottage was very nicely decorated and furnished as well.
