Austin, TXA Wonderful Christmas Vacation at the Niagara River Cottage
Left on 12/29/2012 for a stay in December 2012
We arrived in the cold of night to a warm, welcoming cottage next to the Niagara River. With a cozy living room, 4 bedrooms, and a well designed and roomy kitchen, the 6 of us had plenty of room to enjoy cooking meals, relaxing together and then sleeping in our comfortable, separate spaces. We were close to Niagara Falls and to Canada and enjoyed both trips. With the arrival of snow, part of our family chose to go skiing and had a wonderful time. Our host, Glen Wallace, was very gracious and had provided everything we needed for a comfortable 5 night stay. I would recommend his cottage (home) to anyone wanting to enjoy Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and nearby Canada.

We had 10 guys staying in this house for three nights for a football game and it was perfect. Plenty of space to move around, a great kitchen and plenty to do. There are a lot of games to play, a huge TV with all movie channels and a great waterfront fireplace. Definitely a great pick if you will be in or near Buffalo.

Pittsburgh, PASt. Patrick's Day getaway
Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012
My friends and I decided to get away from our city for St. Patrick's Day and have our own celebration somewhere quiet. We found this beautiful house on Vrbo and knew that this would be the perfect spot. It was even better than we expected. Working with the owner, Glenn, was pleasant and easy. He responded quickly to all our questions and made sure we were comfortable throughout the whole weekend. The town is one of the friendliest towns I have ever visited. We went to breakfast at a small place dressed up in our green outfits, we expected stares but instead all we got were smiles and pleasant conversation. After one night it was decided that a weekend was not long enough to see and do everything that this place offers. The owner was well informed of things to do and see. He had maps prepared to every attraction and store. In all the years that I have been going to big parades and dealing with crowds this was by far the best St. Patrick's Day. We will be returning again and also have informed our family members to look into the rental. Thank you Glenn for everything and next time you will be doing a "shotski" with us ladies!!

Columbia, MarylandVery nice stay, good base for touring the area
Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This was a nice alternative to a hotel. The cottage was very nice and was in a quiet neighborhood. Grand Island made a nice base to explore Niagara Falls and the surrounding area.
The bathrooms and kitchen were top notch. Large TV with DVD player in the main room. High speed internet is wired only (no wireless access, so beware if you have an iPad). The house itself is in great condition, but is a bit creaky (but what do you expect for a 100+ year old house). Air conditioning was provided by window units and fans, which was perfectly adequate even in august.
Glenn the owner was easy to deal with. We never had any issues during our stay, but we appreciated his recommendations for local wines and restaurants.Response from Glenn Wallace - 12/07/2011

So glad you enjoyed your stay ! Wireless internet is on my list and
will have it in a few weeks. And, glad you mentioned the stairs... the
old wood creaks.... but because of your email... I figured out a way to
fix the creaks. I take pride in being the best, and feedback like you
gave me is very helpful. Glenn -

Great time! Nice fire pit across the street at the river's edge -- stairs could use a railing, though.
Owner was very nice - very accomodating with check-in, as we were running late. He also left a great deal of information on area restaurants, directions/maps, etc. to make our stay more enjoyable (not to mention, a nice bottle of wine!). Would rent again if ever in the area! -

This quite and tranquil cottage was an amazing find for us.
Large, clean and beautiful space inside was good for us to make a quick meal if so chosen, relax in family area that so cosy and comfortable. The children could not get enough of the walks along the river, sit with neighbouring guests around a fire and discover some of the historic and close amenities. A 5 star space that I will want to visit again and in other seasons as well -

Grand IslandCozy cottage
Left on 02/10/2011 for a stay in November 2010
For my daughter's wedding, we decided that family members traveling from out town would be more comfortable in a rental than various hotel room. The cottage was absolutely fantastic. It was spacious and clean. My relatives thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The view from the front porch was fantastic, It was easy to find for out of towners, and easy for them to get on and off Grand Island, with very little chance of getting lost. My nephew even was able to put together the wedding cake he brought from his bakery in Philadephia. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
