Great place for a family to stay

Left on 05/01/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We stayed at the Market Street Loft april 27-30, 2012. The loft was a wonderful accommodation for our family. We spoke to the owners via email to book and they were very helpful in answering all questions we had prior to our arrival. Picking up the keys was very easy - they give you a lock box code and you get the keys right at the door of the property. You are also given a parking pass.

The owners were also kind enough to purchase a baby bath tub since the bathroom only had a shower. The baby tub worked great and was really appreciated.

The loft was very clean and very well equipped. There was a pack n play for our baby (11 months), who slept really well in it, in fact better than the one we have at home! The kitchen had everything you could need, from pots and pans, utensils, plates, cups and cook and bake ware. There were plenty of freshly laundered linens also.

The loft was decorated very nicely, with high quality drapery, bed linens and furniture. There was a small stereo to listen to music and a large flat screen TV. We loved the location as it was right in town and literally just steps away from Queen Street, where there are many shops and restaurants. Lake Ontario is just a few blocks away. The wi-fi worked well.

We walked to two wineries (Lailey and Peller Estates - it took around 2 hours with a baby but that included stopping to purchase wine and for various reasons with the baby) and only used our car to drive to Niagara Falls one day.

The only downside of the loft is that it's very close to a restaurant and bar (Angel Inn) and right next to a parking lot. A few years ago this wouldn't have bothered us at all, but with a baby we now go to bed pretty early and the baby goes to bed at 8 PM. On Saturday we could very clearly hear the live band for an hour or so and each night we could hear people's conversations as they went to their cars. Luckily the larger bedroom with the king bed was quiet and we had brought our white noise machine so the baby slept through it all, except for the first night when we didn't realize how noisy it was and tried having him sleep in the second bedroom that faced the front of the property. We slept in the smaller second bedroom the other two nights so he could have the quiet room. The second bedroom was also a lot colder than the rest of the loft but not a big deal for us.

It was great having a two bedroom place to stay and our son loved crawling through the open floor plan. In fact, he took his first real steps during our stay! We were able to enjoy wine on the balcony while he napped. Both Colleen and Eugene were working in the gourmet cheese shop below (Cheese Secrets) and were very friendly when we met them.

I would definitely recommend this vacation rental for a couple or a family with children. Although for people with kids they may want to take into account the noise, but the large bedroom worked for our baby and had we brought an extra white noise machine or fan we wouldn't have even noticed the noise from our room.

If anyone has any questions about the loft or Niagara-on-the-Lake please feel free to message me!

      Great place to stay

Left on 01/26/2012 for a stay in January 2012

My wife and I, along with our 2 adult children and our son's fiance, recently stayed at this property during the annual Niagara Ice Wine Festival. The apartment itself is very nice, with a kitchen, dining area, and spacious living area with a gas fireplace. Everything is very new and clean, and the location is excellent - right in the center of downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, just steps from Queen Street. It was great to be able to walk around for an hour or two, then go to the apartment to warm up and relax, and return to the Festival in the evening for the cocktail competition. The owners, Eugene and Colleen, operate a great little cheese shop below and were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

      Fantastic!

Left on 11/18/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Booking the Market Street Loft turned out to be the best booking ever!(being the person who always books our yearly adventures away this is extremely important to me) We were excited and pleased that the loft was exactly as the pictures depicted it. So warm and cozy and minutes (literally) away from everything in Notl. Even in November we were able to sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the fabulous cheeses that Colleen assisted in our picking out at the Cheese Secrets store below the loft. Truly a great weekend away with the girls. Will look forward to returning. Thanks Colleen and Eugene!

we stayed 3 nights at this lovely loft just off the main street in Notl. Went to the theater just across the street (actually came back to the loft at intermission for some candy, that's how close). Very comfortable, nice porch for morning breakfast. and very quiet. Easy parking, a nice coupon for some cheese in the store below..what more could you want. towels were pretty scratchy but that was the only flaw..

Hi there! Glad you had a good time. The towels were dried on the clothesline - guess that's why they were scratchy! I'll keep this in mind in the future. All the best, Colleen & Eugene.

Perfect location, fantastic amenities, all the comforts of home

Left on 07/11/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We loved our stay at the Market Street Loft! Right in the centre of the old town, a fantastic location for theatre, shopping, dining, wine tours and cycling.

The loft has all the comforts of home including a wonderful balcony that is in the sun until late in the evening. The bed is even more comfortable than our bed at home. There is a little bbq located near the entrance of the loft.

When you arrive you receive a parking pass that allows you to park in any of the Notl parking lots including the court house lot beside the loft.

Remember to visit Cheese Secrets. Nothing beats wine, cheese and prosciutto on the balcony at dusk.

Thank you Colleen and Eugene. We will be back.

Beautifully appointed and excellent location - a wonderful choic

Left on 06/21/2011 for a stay in June 2011

My sister, neice and daughter and I went to Niagara on the Lake for a Girls Weekend. After looking at many hotel and B&B; options, it became clear that a holiday apartment would be a much better choice for our needs. So much more comfortable and less expensive than the alternatives for 4 people! And thus we found Market Street Loft - the pictures and reviews seemed almost too good to be true - but it is just as nice as it seems. The furnishings, layout and location are first class. Just one street behind the main street but very quiet.
We really enjoyed having lots of space to spread out, a full kitchen for breakfast, snacks etc. . Sitting out on the deck overlooking the garden early in the morning or late at night was wonderful. The girls could come and go from the coffee shops, hat store, Christmas store as the urge struck. Just a short walk from the theatres and restaurants too.
We rented bikes from Zoom on sunday and had a great time touring the town and vineyards. Late night carriage ride around the Old Town was fun too.
If you want to spend some time in Notl, this is a great place to stay! And the cheese store downstairs is yummy too!

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in March 2011

My fiance and I came with another couple to Niagara for a quick weekend trip, and renting the loft was cheaper than a hotel for the four of us. And it was such a good choice! I would go back in an instant. Our hosts were so gracious, we were able to come and go as we pleased, and the cheese shop is right downstairs!

The loft itself is beautiful and spotless, but warm and cozy as well. We had an amazing time and I can't recommend the Market St. loft highly enough!!

      Complementary local wine!

Left on 04/18/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We were pleasantly surprised when we entered this beautiful little gem in the heart of Notl, above an equally amazing Cheese Shop (Cheese Secrets). The apartment was spacious, well kept, and comfortabkee. We felt like we were at home with a full kitchen, comfortable beds and rooms, and private balcony. The location is great in terms of being centered in the village, close to wineries, cross-border shopping, casinos, golf courses, spas, and theatre.
Thank you, Colleen and Eugene for being a great Host and Hostess. Our stay at the Market Street Loft was fabulous!!!
