On-the-Lake is fabulous, incredible, awe inspiring, breath taking, and just radiates the sense of well being. Whenever we welcome a guest, we have to pause for a while just to let the whole sense of the place to set in. It isn’t just about the view; there is a special feeling of joy and calmness that emanates from this home. The house layout, the décor and its setting are in perfectly harmony. For those that are so busy with life, this truly a place where you can slow down and enjoy just being in the moment!

There is truly no other place like it in the world. The view is one that would compare to any seaside or ocean front pr...operty. You can really appreciate the immenseness of Lake Ontario from this vista. Far away you can clearly see the skyline of Toronto. The vessels going to and from the Welland Canal look so small on the horizon, like a child’s toy! The location is at the base of the “thundering river” (the first nations translation for word Niagara), where it flows into Lake Ontario. A favourite spot for sail boats and fishing boats! You can watch some of the best of what Mother Nature has to offer, from the afternoon sun reflecting its light show off of Fort Niagara, to swans floating by, to storm watching, this view is ever changing. Trying to capture it on camera just doesn’t seem to catch the essence of being here in person.

This luxury vacation home has all the modern day conveniences to offer. As you enter into On-the-lake there are two rooms off the main foyer, a ½ bath and beautiful French doors into the main living area. The open concept living dining and gourmet kitchen is perfect for entertaining! There is a large screen TV (which I doubt you will have the inclination to watch!), an amazing two sided gas fireplace. The dining area has a large table for everyone to so everyone to sit comfortably, perfect for dining or crafting! There are also sliding doors out to the back which is a covered veranda leading out to the gazebo. The house is built to maximize every room’s vantage point of the view towards the water. Its simplicity in décor perfectly complements what mother nature has created and can be seen from the large windos. This professionally decorated home had a designer who really knows how to bring the outdoors in! But we didn’t forget the practical, the kitchen is well laid out and equipped and there is a main floor washer and drier, sub zero refrigerator, built in oven, gas top stove and central vacuuming!

The main floor bedroom is fully wheel chair accessible, as well as the rest of the main floor. The en suite has been modified to provide easy access to the shower, sink, lavatory and closet space.

Upstairs are two more bedrooms and the master suite. Each bathroom has its own inspiration from designer floral Kohen sinks to the best view from a porcelain throne! The bedrooms are spacious, provide ample closet space and we provide the top quality in bed linens! You may never want to leave your room! If you are the lucky one to get the master suite you also get a private sitting room, with desk, leather couch and chairs and flat screen TV, this room is round and surrounded with windows! Enter into the bedroom with the King sized bed and your own Juliette balcony. This room’s en suite could be in any luxury travel magazine. It is a huge room, with a huge walk in shower that takes up almost half the space! But the best part is the raised Jacuzzi tub which overlooks; yep you know it, the incredible view. Just imagine sitting in warm bubbly waters, your glass of wine, and looking out across at the world. Does it get any better???

This vacation home has no comparable in this region. It offers incredible value because you and your traveling companions get all of this for less than the cost of the best hotel room in town! We couldn’t believe our luck when we bought this property! Where else could you get such a fabulous view but just be steps from the oldest golf course in North America, a world class spa and restaurant. Around the corner is Broadway comparable theatre, any kind of boutique shop you could imagine, and foodies will rejoice in the selection of bakeries, grocer, cheese shops, jam and condiments and don’t forget the ice cream!
Where else can you stay in a luxurious private home that offers the best view of Lake Ontario and the Niagara River and just park your car because you are walking everywhere. This home offers privacy as well as convenience!
The view is indescribable some days. The sun plays a light show in the late afternoon on the shores of the USA by Fort Niagara; it is just incredible to watch. No matter how often I try and photograph it, I can’t capture the natural rays of sunlight as it is reflect off the rocky shore line. Almost every day you can see the skyline of Toronto clearly. Watch the big tankers in the horizon as they pass through the Welland canal, it feels like you are on an ocean! My favourite is to see a storm approaching and watch the rain and waves dance together. It is never the same, each day, each hour, and each minute it is constantly changing. The Niagara River is a favourite spot for sailors, big or small these vessels are hours of entertainment!

  My wife and I were married in Niagara-on-the-Lake in November of 2012. We rented the cottage for our wedding party to stay in. It was very roomy and impressed all of our guests with it's modern design and breath taking view of the lake!   Our group of 4 couples enjoyed our stay at this great property. It was especially nice that each bedroom had its own full bath. Each bedroom has something unique to offer and the kitchen has every thing you could possibly need if you decide to cook at home. Not at all a typical rental property kitchen! The house is located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and an easy walk to the heart of the village.

  From the minute Janet responded with alacrity, enthusiasm and maximum efficiency to my desperate email plea for the perfect place to relax and unwind after our Scottish daughter married her australian boyfriend in Toronto to the reluctant moment when we had to say goodbye to the House on the Lake, this was an incredibly joyful, stressless experience...the House-on-the-Lake is peace perfect peace...highlights include sunsets over Lake Ontario with yachts drifting past in the foreground, authentic aussie barbies on the terrace, wine tasting and wine drinking and tossing about in an open boat on tumultuous, level 5 rapids on Niagara River, soaked and sodden but crying with laughter...if only the amazing fire had worked...

  Property has an excellent view, and the entire house is extremely clean. A bonus was the weelchair accesibility on the main floor for my grandmother. Highly recommended.

  the place is absolutely amazing! the location is unbeatable (it's right on the lake and an easy 5mins walk from town center), the view is breathtaking, and the house is super clean and comfy...Eric and Janet also made the whole experience that much better, and the Balzac coffee was a very nice touch :)
