Description from the manager
Visit The White Swan and step into a fresh, charming and romantic cottage in one of the best locations in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Next door to the Oban Inn, the cottage is a couple of minutes walk to the heart of the village and the nearest ice cream cone and a few seconds walk to the shores of Lake Ontario. Dine in and watch the horse drawn carriages go by or sip wine on the porch and smell the garden flowers. The cottage has a fully functioning kitchen and sleeps eight. There’s a master bedroom and bath; a loft with two queen beds and a bath; and a living room with a pullout queen sofabed and bath. The cottage has been lovingly redone and of...Read more

Niagara on the Lake is beautiful - and if you want an historic, beautiful place to stay - The White Swan is fantastic. Great location, historic building and well furnished - our stays there have been memorable.

North Bay, ONQuaint little gem!
Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in October 2012
The White Swan was a great getaway for our annual wine tasting weekend that we and another couple do every year. The cottage had every amenity needed. We would have liked to have stayed longer than two nights as we were just getting 'into the groove' of relaxation. We spent as much time as we could on the porch watching people stroll by. It was a beautiful spot to take a glass of wine, some cheese and grapes and just ponder over what a great day we had spent! The only suggestion I would make is either put a television in both bedrooms, or put a flatscreen above the fireplace. We had the downstairs bedroom with the flatscreen tv and our friends would have appreciated watching a bit of tv before they settled in for the night (they had the upstairs large bedroom).
We would definitely rent this cottage again if only two couples travel to Notl, it would be a bit difficult if we travelled with our usual 3 couples for the weekend. Thank you to Janet for organizing this weekend for us and her (I believe) husband who met us at the door and showed us how the locks operated and what we could find inside. It truly was a great weekend. -

We love staying at this house. it is convenient to so many things. Notl is a small town that offers many big, city activities at a leisury pace: history, art gallerys, theatre, shopping, a great selection of food choices, walking, cycling, the river and lake, the oldest golf course in america, parks, wineries and many options of places to stay. Janet was fun to work with and made good suggestions of things to do. She is enthusiastic about her work and the town. This was our second stay at The Swan House. I hope we can return some day. Staying in the cottage is much better than a hotel!!!

IthacaCharming cottage, great location

This lovely little cottage is just a short distance from the lake and a few blocks from downtown, a perfect location for enjoying all that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer. The cottage is small and cozy. There were 7 of us there (4 adults and 3 kids) and we just fit but I wouldn't recommend that many unless you are family. The upstairs is open and airy, with a little balcony. The porch is great: we ate most of our meals there and it was perfect for hanging out. There is a big bathtub in the downstairs bathroom, good for long soaks.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to relax and enjoy the Niagara region. After hours of searching, we found The White Swan cottage. It is truly a gem. From the moment we walked through the front door, we knew we had settled into the perfect place. We spent many hours on the front porch enjoying the scenery with a glass of wine. This cottage has every amenity imaginable and necessary to make a pleasant stay away from home. It is right off the main strip and only a few steps away from everything Niagara on the lake has to offer. I could not have asked for more...except maybe a few more days before getting back to the grind of the City.

We had a wonderful time at the White Swan cottage. Not only is it very relaxing and comfortable but also conveniently located near the shops and restaurants that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer. They provide everything you need to make you as comfortable as possible. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has a nice large porch for a cook out or entertaining. If golf is your thing, a course is located a nine iron away. We think you would enjoy your stay and recommend this fabulous little gem to all.

St. Louis, MO. USAThis is such a peaceful place!
Left on 03/23/2011 for a stay in September 2010
This home was so restful. We spent part of every day or evening on the porch, enjoying our wine as we relaxed, watching people passing, reading or just letting the breeze flow over us. The upstairs bedroom was spacious and we took advantage of the small adjoining porch. Having the attached bathroom was a definite plus. The house is within easy walking distance of the theatres, shops, restaurants, park and a small grocery store. When we went to the wineries it was just a short drive to get to the main roads leading out of town. We didn't spend much time inside although the interior is very comfortably furnished - too much to do around town! We recommend White Swan to everyone desiring a peaceful, relaxed getaway. You will most certainly come home ready to face daily life with a more positive outlook!
