Apartment is in a very good location in the middle of the old city, all the facilities are close. It needs some innovation as the furniture is kinda old, the bathroom is very small, that's the bad part. Suitable for group of friends but there are no space for more that 5 persons , specially if u have big luggage.
Jack was very helpful and easy to contact anytime, he showed us maps of nice and recommended restaurants, also he helped us with places to visit and buses to take, very friendly host.
Recommended if you are into old city with the small streets and old buildings. -

Our family of three recently spent a fantastic week at Jack's amazing flat.It was definitely the highlight of our month long holiday in France and in retrospect should have stayed there longer. It is the perfect base for discovering the rest of the French Riviera and in particular the Old Town of Nice. There are three excellent Nicoise restaurants literally across the street or around the corner as well as a good (cheap) pizza takeaway. Palais Lascaris, next door, is a must but
the best part of it all is the host,Jack, himself. -

This was a great apartment in the coolest part of Nice - the old town. The apartment was clean and had great character and was steps away from the tram and all the buses we needed to get to towns like Monaco, Villefranche Sur Mer, and Eze. This is the perfect spot for experiencing the charm of Nice's old town with all its cafes, markets, bars and restaurants right out side the door. The owner was extremely accommodating from providing oil and vinegar and a bottle of wine to every public transit schedule and map you would need to see all the neighboring towns. The free phone calls to anywhere was a big plus and saved us from having to buy a sim card for our mobile phone. Next time we're in Nice we'll definitely try to stay at this apartment.

We were traveling as a family of 5 adults. My wife and I have been traveling in France for the past 3 years and have had great experiences renting every time, but Jack's was unique.
Firstly, Jack is really the reason you should book the apartment. He's an interesting, humorous guy and we regret not having an extra day in Nice just to hang out with him. As a landlord, he is awesome. There were maps, bus and train schedules (in numerical order), & travel guides of not just Nice but neighboring towns. When we arrived in the evening, he anticipated that we might not want to head out again, and stocked up on milk, wine, and baguettes. He helped us book a cab when our French was not up to par for the cab company and even helped with the luggage to the main road (sorry to make you carry the manly pink one!).
If you're looking for Old World charm and comfort, this is it. This apartment was cleverly laid out, with everything you need without feeling cluttered or crowded, even with 5 of us in it. We loved the feel of the place and its location really can't be beat. It is right around the corner of all our favorite restaurants. It's hard to believe that we were able to stay in such a central location for what Jack charges. It's a rare treat to be able to stay in a place that is French, and more importantly, authentically Nice. It's the sort of place you see in the movies of the '40s and '50s where the streets are narrow and the sound outside your window is the sound of a healthy community. There is just so much life and charm that you can't find in a modern city. You hear neighbors talk, laugh while hanging out their laundry, and you can stick your head out the window when the doorbell rings to talk to the person on the street below. It does feel like Gregory Peck and audrey Hepburn in a Roman Holiday, only we're in Nice.
Finally, dealing with Jack on the business end of things was a pleasure and we'd love to go back. -

We stayed in jack's apartment in nice old town. We are a family with three children under 5 years old and the apartment was brilliant for us. Right in the heart of old town, we could walk everywhere and were close to trams, buses and trams. The choice of places to eat was enormous, and everything we ate was delicious!
The apartment has a separate bedroom and an alcove off the main room, so that was handy for one of the children. There are also a couple of sofa beds which we used for another child.
The apartment is furnished with real furniture- such a nice change from ikea rental apartments. It is homely and comfortable with everything you could possibly need.
Jack is a brilliant host, and was so informative and helpful. He joined us for some vino one evening and bough our children a puzzle from the markets before we left. So lovely.
We can't wait to go back! -

This traditionally french style apartment is full of character and very conveniently located in the Old Town. The owner Jack was full of helpful information and some great culinary recommendations. Also worth a mention, for a fantastic freshly made take away pizza, turn left out of apartment walk 100 yards and small pizzeria located on right. We would not hesitate to book this apartment again for future visits.

The unit is located on a narrow street in old town Nice, within easy walking distance of almost anything a visitor would want to see. The unit was clean, well furnished and cozy. We did have a bit of trouble figuring out how to work the TV and washing machine, but landlord Jack Merlotti was very responsive to our needs. Actually, Jack went out of his way to be helpful during our visit, providing plenty of bus schedules, maps, restaurant recommendations, etc. At the end of our visit he helped us wit h our luggage to the tram and waited with us at the train station. We would definitely recommend this unit to anyone considering a visit to Nice!

I came to Nice with my entire family and found a really charming place . We wanted to rest longer but it was reserved. Jack took us all around the Old Town and showed us the best restaurants, cafes and his artist friends,
great location in the heart of the old town and five minutes to beach, 2 minutes to city center. We arrived by car but left it in the parking and took the buses and trams for 1 Euro.
Great apartment for a family and we hope to come back again next year
I will recommend this apartment to all my friends freezing in Paris.!!!

This is the perfect place to experience the Old Town of Nice. Wonderful location, just steps from all the old streets and squares of Nice, 5 min walk to the beach, 2 blocks from Nice's wonderful tram system, as well as its buses to points on the Cote d'Azur. The apartment is large and comfortably furnished, not in the Ikea style so prevalent now, but in great antiques. The kitchen is especially spacious, well equipped and even features a washer/dryer. The apartment is equiped with TV, stereo, wi-fi, dvd player etc, but I never used them. Instead, I loved opening up the windows in the evenings and hearing all the wonderful sounds--music, people laughing, restaurant chatter.
The host Jack Merlotti could not have been nicer, meeting me at the tram stop, giving me all kinds of very useful info on Nice and environs and suggesting day trips. A very warm and engaging host! Don't waste time at the tourist bureau, as jack has a library of brochures and pamphlets, bus and train schedules and other helpful info.
Only to mention it, but the shower is a bit of a contortionist's dream, although the owner plans on remodeling it.
I recommend both the apartment and host!! -

My friends and I stay there for two weeks and it was perfect. There is enough space for 3 people to live without stepping on each other's toes. The owner is really friendly, don't hesitate to go out with him one evening, he really enjoy it. He will be his pleasure to inform on what you need to do/see in Nice.
The bus station (and the tram) are just about 5 minutes of walk from the apartment including the time to stop by the bakery to buy breakfast.
We really enjoy our stay and recommend it.
