The apartment is situated in an historical building being part of the most ancient core of the « vieux Nice » (the old town). It was built in the 18th century and .it’s actually under protection of “City of Nice Heritage Sites Office” The facade is decorated in colours that best define the light green shutters and the yellow-ochre perimeter walls hiding 2 foot thick local cut stones that keep the building cool in summer and warm in winter. The Saint Rite Church, framed in the 17th century is located in the same street, 15 meters nearby.
Our accommodation is Situated at No.3 Rue de la Poissonnerie, 6300 Nice, only 10 meters far from its well-known perpendicular “Cours Saleya” . We are in the heart of the old town (le vieux Nice) just close to all kinds of shops, stores and handcrafted activities: family run mini-markets, antique dealers, bric-à-brac traders, boutiques, bazaars, grocers, perfumeries, fish shops, butchers, bakeries, confectioners and ice cream parlours. The best ice cream shop in the whole Region, “Maitre Fenocchio” is just in front of the entrance door.
The restaurants, for all tastes and pockets, deserve the visitor's attention: in this part of the site we give some additional information about those located in the old town suggesting regional menus.
If you like to savour the simple things like walking to collect your paper, your oven baked baguette, your freshly ground coffee and croissant, and if you enjoy mingling with the locals, this is your location. Furthermore, if you want to relax after a hot summer day you can enjoy swimming in the crystal blue sea of the Promenade des Anglais beach, only 80 metres far from the apartment.
The flat is situated in a strategic location, being close to all transport networks stations and terminals: Nice Harbour is only 300 metres far from the apartment, the Regional Bus Terminal 400 metres, it takes only 10 minutes by bus or tram from the SNCF railway stations “Nice Ville” and “Nice Riquier” and 30 minutes from the International Airport Terminal
The public free lift (150 metres far from the apartment) will allow you to reach the top of the “la Colline du Chateau” (Castel hill) where you’ll enjoy the amazing sight of the town and the wonderful public garden that rises on the plateau of the Castel. The well-equipped and well maintained recreation ground of the plateau represents an attractive and very popular play area for children of all ages
Other recreation gardens are located a little bit towards northeast: "Castel des deux Rois" et "Vigier".
