IowaClassic North Woods Experience
Left on 10/29/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My husband and I visited Samara Point during the first week of October. This was our third visit. We have always gone at this time of year, as the fall colors are usually at their peak. This year did not dissappoint! The cabins at Samara Point are classic North woods cabins. If you are expecting a luxury resort, this is not for you. If you love camping and kicking back, you are at the right place. The cabins are very well maintained and clean. The kitchenette is stocked with every utensil needed. This time of year, I do bring my own crockpot, for hot stew after a chilly days fishing. The bedrooms are small, with full size beds. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom shower is super small, but that is part of the charm! My favorite thing about the cabins is the real fireplace and unlimited supply of firewood. While we enjoy going in the fall, there is a swimming beach that is kept very clean and a play area that would be good for families in warmer weather. The Wallelye fishing is excellent. But you may need a guide to help you, because they can be quite difficult to catch. If you want an authentic North woods camping/fishing experience, i would highly recommend Samara Point!
