Description from the manager

A truly fabulous location. Just the sand between you and the Gulf of Mexico. Sunsets directly west of your open expanded living area, master suite and jacuzzi. Just imagine gazing out over the gulf from just about any location in this lovely two bedroom private villa.

Lovely screened in porch facing the beach and from the master, your own balcony facing the Gulf of Mexico. This is a very comfortable townhome for a family up to 5. Make your next reservation for Beach Daze!

      One perfect week!

This place was awesome in many ways! The house was very clean, a little outdated but beautiful nonetheless. This was our first time to Nor-Cap and I proposed to my fiancé there! Very close to the Gulf with a private pathway to the beach. The staff was awesome and very helpful! The island is gorgeous! We will absolutely be returning here every year for vacation.

Had a great time enjoying nature and relaxing.

We have stayed in the same house all three times we have come to North Captiva. Love being right on the beach. It is the perfect size for just out family. North Captiva is perfect to get away from the busy world for awhile. We hate crowds on the beach so this area is just what we want. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is nice and helpful from getting your stuff to the house to checking out kayaks. The only complaint would be with all the storms the beach is a bit littered with debris. Much of beach in the reserve area seems so be eroding too. Can't control nature. Overall a wonderful vacation spot. We will be back.

My husband and I both agree this was the most relaxing vacation we've had in a very long time. We plan on repeating the experience in November...and we rarely visit the same place twice in one year!

Wonderful experience .. great place for privacy and comfort

Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in August 2011

We had stayed at North Captiva many, many years ago and were looking forward to another great trip. We were not disappointed! From our first reservation call to Kayla, to the Ferry Captains who delivered us safely, to the guys who handled alot of bags for our 2 week stay, to the staff at the bar, store and restaurant - we experienced only friendly and pleasant attitudes. Our 2 bedroom house was clean, right on the beach and had everything you could possibly need - as advertised! The pictures of the accomodations on the intranet are accurate (always a nice surprise) and other than needing to replace an old beat-up charcoal grill - this place is perfect! If you are looking for a quiet and private place to recharge your batteries - this is the place for you. I love the Off Season - I felt like we were on our own private Island! Rent a boat from alberto and your vacation will be complete. **We have already decided to take our entire family (kids and grandkids) next summer because we know how much they will love the Beach, the olympic sized pool and the island experience.

      How to Relax

Left on 06/15/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Our house was right on the beach with a great view and easy access to the beach. We had a wonderful week of relaxing and playing on the beach. We had a great time on a jet ski tour with Boats and Fun. They also took us to Captiva for parasailing and shopping. We had a tubing adventure on the way back to North Captiva. Kayaking was fun as well and we did that several times. The only bad time we had was when the air conditioner went out. It was replaced the next day - so we really weren't inconvenienced much.

      The Perfect Getaway

Left on 05/04/2011 for a stay in April 2011

This trip required quite a bit of planning, and the people involved all did a great job. Sarah Rapp, the realtor, helped to answer all our questions. Both Superior aiport Shuttle and Pine Island Taxi are very reliable, with excellent drivers. Alberto and his son, with Boats & Fun, got us safely to North Captiva on our late-night arrival, and then helped us out again with our early-morning departure. The staff at Ncic were friendly and super helpful with checking in and out. And it wouldn't be right if I didn't mention how awesome the jambalaya is at Barnacle Phil's, and the ahi tuna caesar salad at Mango's! We stayed almost a week at Beach Daze, and loved the house. One minor flaw is, the house uses well water, and so occasionally there is a sulfuric smell from the taps and shower, but it dissipates quickly. Other than that, it's wonderful: the perfect location, and a very well-maintained and comfortable house - just right for 2-4 people. We really loved the screened-in porch and the upper deck. And you can't get much closer to the beach than this house! This unit is a duplex, but apparently the owner of the other half is 'never' there, so we had complete peace and quiet. We would definitely rent Beach Daze again.

A lovely visit to an island we love.

Left on 02/02/2011 for a stay in January 2011

This was our 2nd trip to Upper Captiva. We are not sunbathers & we always go to beaches in the off seasons. We found that Ncic has improved their service in the last 5 years. The office & maintenence staff were friendly & helpful. The only piece of information left out of the house description was that it is a duplex. As there was no one in the other half, I can't answer as to possible noise level. The unit was immaculate & as advertised other than the duplex issue. The hot tub was hot (a problem last time we stayed with Ncic in a different unit), the satellite dish worked, the appliances & utilities were acceptable. The beach was a mere 50' from the unit. The central heating is a little exuberant, but that would not be an issue for most times. We can highly recommend The Boat House restaurant, our meal was delicious & abundant & the chef was a delight. We also enjoyed lunch & ice cream at Barnacle Phil's. The boat captains were informative & friendly. Be prepared for the high prices on the island. Work your grocery list with lots of foresight. Next time we'll plan an alternate to the suggested use of Publix Grocery store. Everything on our list was supplied, but not in the sizes requested and certainly not in the quality I expected regarding the fruit, seafood & meat. I was very specific and was disappointed. There are plenty of other grocery stores on the mainland or Pine Island to use. Upper Captiva is not the place to go if you like cell service, boardwalks, casinos or associated nightlife & entertainment. If you are looking for lovely beaches, wildlife, shelling, peace & quiet & rejuvination, I can highly recommend Upper Captiva & Ncic in the off season!
