I was on North Captiva for my daughter's beach wedding. My stay was wonderful. The weather was beautiful and accommodations were outstanding. The house has plenty of room and amazing views of the Gulf. Beautiful views of sunset on the 3rd & 4th levels. Great place! Read more

Was so looking forward to this trip but was very disappointed...arrived to a house that had no a/c working and they were well aware of this prior to me arriving...they tried to give us a unit that failed as well...the house looked much better in pictures then in person...the house needed some TLC...then they moved us to a better house, house was beautiful House 212 but it was cleaned on the night we had to move all our stuff so they compensated us with two free dinners, we went to one dinner but the second was cancelled 30 minutes prior to getting all dressed and ready to go due to the restaurant having a/c units problems...so needless to say, they have some issues they need to work on...I also took out a private charter for fishing ...was not worth the $450.00 for the day but renting my own boat for the day was much better

The house is getting old and it is clear the owners are cash flowing it in a big way. No money has been put in this for a long time. Many things we touched just fell apart (door handles, shower heads, etc). Nails were sticking up all over the pool deck. Hot tub stopped working and we called twice and nobody seemed to care to fix it. Ncic lost our luggage to start, was a slow or no show on maintenance calls and wasn't impressive overall. The saving grace is that the location of the house is great. A short walk past one open lot to a beach you feel is almost yours. View to the beach is unobstructed. Bathrooms are very old. Pots and pans in the kitchen are terrible and almost unusable. The only reason you rent this is the location. That said, there are other places with great locations and much better houses for the money. This is not a luxury quality rental but the price is.
The whole family enjoyed out time on North Captiva

White Pelican Watch is a Nice Place to Relax

The positives were that the home comfortably slept our party of 10 (6 adults and 4 children). The pool was nice. The beach was close. The kitchen was well equipped. Also, the sunset view was breathtaking. The negatives were that the refrigerator did not cool well. The freezer did not cool well or produce ice. The home had a roach problem. The beach was a very narrow stretch of sand.

Great views, but needs attention.

This property has great views. The sunset is spectacular. But, it is in need of some care. You would think for the amount of rent paid on this four star property it would be better kept up. First, there was construction being done right next door to this property's swimming pool which we were not informed of. It was very annoying. We had to use it when the workers left. The hot tub was not in proper working oder and had to be repaired while we were there. The main T.V had to be replaced because it was not working. There were pieces of verticle blinds missing in our bedroom. The only bathtub in the house had rusted enamel which was peeling. The a/c unit only went to 76 degrees. The bed linens looked worn and faded. Door handles were loose, the pool was dirty when we arrived We were all really disappointed. We were expecting hotel like accommodations. We did speak to management about it and some issues were taken care of, like the T.V. in a timely manner. The homeowners need to address these issues if they want to keep collecting such rents. It is a reflection of them. So,if they want return renters or recommendations, these issues are small and not too costly. The location and beach were wonderful. The square footage for our family was perfect.
The house has spectacular views from all the windows. It was our first time on the island. We decided to enjoy ourselves regardless. But when there is not much to do and your only retreat is your house rental you want to get what you have (already ) paid for. It's not like you can go to another house or hotel. Which by the way, I did request. But there were not other houses with the same ammenities available. I don't think I will return to this property.
New Deal does the beach
A Great Vacation Experience

Didn't really know what to expect, being isolated on an island, no cars. Everyone was really nice & easy to deal with. Ac went out on lower level & maint. was quick to fix. Everything was great. It's a little pricey to buy groceries or eat at any of the eateries. Construction was going on at the house right behind us but was not too bad, except for them starting at 7:30 each morning. All in all, it was a great experience & great fun. Would return in a heartbeat. Grandkids loved it!!!

Great location-quiet and less populated than other parts of the island. Unfortunately, a new house is being constructed very close to this house and could spoil the solitude. The new house is located right next to and above the pool. Hopefully, the property management will replace the trees and vegetation between the two houses.

Have been coming to Island for years. Sorry about the beach erosion. Love White Pelican Watch. Great Views and love the undevelopped side. Hope you won't keep putting houses on every blank lot. When you do s pend money on keeping lots of green space between.
Left 3 little boys swim suits behind. Housekeeping did not turn them in
