The home was quite lovely, spacious and in a fabulous location. Such easy access to the beach. Bugs are an issue this time of year,(July), but a little planning can help with that. The home has a screened in porch so that you may still enjoy the outside while not swatting bugs. Great views of the ocean to have coffee in the morning or a sunset glass of wine! Read more

Our extended family loved "Perfect Placement"...from the location to the open floor plan in the living area.Since we prepared all of our meals in house, we appreciated all of the pots and pans, cooking tools, etc. The only thing lacking was a set of stainless steel mixing bowls. It was great to get up in the morning and sit on one of the decks, drink coffee and watch the ocean..or should I say the Gulf. The only bad things were the hoards of fast mosquitoes that descended once the sun started to drop. That is Florida for you..no fault of the island's.Loved that there were no cars or loads of people on the beach.

We were two different families with a total of nine people and everyone loved this house! It was great to see the water from the bedrooms and kitchen, plus the layout felt very open. The home was well stocked with what we needed and even had a few extra beach towels which came in handy. The trip was very relaxing and not much to do. We loved being able to just walk a few steps and be on the beach or take a golf cart ride to the pool. Our only regret is not having a boat to wonder off the island and explore surrounding areas. Other than that, we all had the perfect vacation!

Beautiful place. Wonderful views of the ocean and trees (provided privacy as well, perfect aC in the house. I don't think I've slept in a more comfortable room than the one on the second floor!
The kitchen was a great size for cooking and not getting crowded.
Great place to bring our kids back to someday and other friends.
Take this place and use it!

We had an excellent time on the island again! The costumer service is just excellent.
The home was very nice and clean. The kitchen could use a few more things (wine glasses, sharper knives, more plastic plates for children), but we managed really well with what we had.
The house is very close to the beach, the view is excellent from the balconies.
I think my family found the perfect placement for us. I absolutely recommend this house. We'll be back next year!

A great place for access to the beach and the state land. Not knowing what to expect from the North Captiva Island Resort, we found the service to be very good. We were glad to have the golf cart and access to the club facilities. Excellent tennis courts! The home was very well equipped and comfortable. We felt like we had spent a week on fantasy island!
The name describes it all!

Perfect Placement is just that. My family, which includes 5 children, ages 8 to 13, grandpa, myself and my husband, had a wonderful and memorable vacation in this home. We had plenty of room to spread out. We were steps from the beach. The kids and adults had so much fun playing in the sand and surf, collecting shells, kayaking, and watching tortoises and crabs walk across our path. We spent much of our time on the beach and sitting on the 3-season porch. Plan on getting your groceries before you get to the island. We cooked every meal in the lovely kitchen or on the grill. Sorry I can't tell you about the restaurants because we did not try them. Prices are steep on the island itself. We needed a few items and payed a premium for them. The only negatives were with the Ncic, not the house. I tried to rent a second golf cart and found none available. We made do with one cart, but sometimes had to chauffeur family members from place-to-place. The umbrellas and chairs were hard to get and we had to wait two days. The bikes were rusty and difficult to ride in the sand. In summary, If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation, spending meaningful time with your loved ones, this is it. It you are looking for a lot of activities and things to do, you should reconsider your destination plans.
This home was wonderful.

Home is comfortable, inviting, and well laid out. Excellent view of the beach from upper bedroom balcony.
More screens in house windoews and doors would be good to enjoy gulf breezes without the concern of bugs. Kayaks, swimming pool, bikes, and tennis courts/equipment add to the beach experience.
Outstanding time, with awsome sunsets

We had a great time. The house was a great pick (thanks Sarah Rapp) and the kids had a great time on the beach. very few problems, and the staff was always very eager to assist any way they could to make things work. We had a broken ice maker, so they gave us bags of ice at the store. We really enjoyed it. Just bring your bug spray for the night time.

Overall great vacation. The house was spacious and nice. Great pool. Check in and check out out was easy. Enjoyed the Margarita cruise and kayaking. Island staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming.
1. Pine island taxi did not pick us up at the airport(party of 8). A differnt shuttle company took us straight to the doc.
2. One bar tender was rude to many people(within our group and outside of our group). Another bartender was very friendly and helpful.
2. House was not cleaned(bathrooms were dirty, vaccum did not work).
3. Ice maker did not work.
Great family vacation

My wife and I enjoyed the stay here. The home is in excellent condition and it was everything that we expected. Enjoyed the fact that we were close to the water and not right next to the water. Because we were set back from the shore, just a touch, we were able to see beautiful sunsets over the water that included some trees. It was picture perfect. And during the day from the kitchen window we could see dolphins in the water. The home is located right next to the nature preserve so we could go for walks everyday and also look for sea shells. Having no cars on the island just adds to the paradise experience. Cheryl and I went out fishing one day with the North Captiva crew and we had a blast. We caught lots of fish, and they took care of everything for us. We cooked up the fish that night and it was as good as the fresh walleye we catch in Canada. We will be going back to North Captiva for sure. Thanks for the wonderful vacation.
