Description from the manager
SeaBreeze overlooks two naturally vegetated beachfront lots owned by a few families on the island, in front of our houses protecting our views and giving us private beach access and beach use. We have a little sandy path that takes you right to the water.
Sea Breeze is one of North Captiva Island's premier properties. This spacious 3000 square foot home with
private beach access was built to take advantage of some of the best gulf views on North Captiva Island.
Recently remodeled from top to bottom, Sea Breeze was built in the Old Florida style to optimize spacious living and comfort. Bedrooms are on the first floor and the...Read more

New York Citypeaceful, airy and sun drenched home
Left on 05/18/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The house was lovely and very airy, bright and quiet in a good location.
Bedrooms were all lovely and comfortable. Living room couch was less so, and some lamps were positioned on end tables with no electrical outlet in sight. The views from the home were wonderful, particularly the "birds eye view" of the nesting osprey - the babies fledged during our stay. We called for service once during our stay for an overhead light that was burned out in the powder room and got immediate and friendly response. We had a late flight on the day of our departure and begged for a late checkout - just two hours - and we were turned down as the next day someone had negotiated an early check in. Seemed unfair to us as we were only two guests and used only one bedroom and bathroom and there was precious little to do. It was the only disappointment - and we had really hoped for a little consideration particularly since the day of the departure was gorgeous, and the rip tide warning was lifted. Can't complain about weather, but as it was a week of unsettled weather - we had really hoped that there could be a little flexibility for a simple two hour extension on the checkout. In the past we rented from owners privately and we will go back to doing that again! -

The folks at Ncic are wonderfully helpful and gracious. It is not a five star hotel experience, but it is to designed to be. Simple island life away from work and the rest of the world. The home is charming- lots of comfortable places for relaxing and a great central room. The ice maker was abit off, but by and large the home is well furnished with everything you need for a really nice stay. This was our second year in a row in this home, and it fit our family perfectly (6 people)

If you want a place to go where life has slowed down and you don't have to be anywhere this is the place to go. The Seabreeze house we rented was beautiful, had a great view, and was seconds from the beach. I would do this again. Hated to leave.

Charlotte, NCA great island get away

This is the second time our family has spent a week on North Captiva. It's important to realize that you're renting a house on an island which you can only access by boat and which you travel around on via foot, bike, or golf cart. In other words, be prepared to be isolated - which is what we love. It is not rare for your family to be the only ones on a beautiful unspoiled beach literally surrounded by dolphins and manatees.
This particular property - Sea Breeze - is very nice. We were a party of 7 (3 kids and 4 adult) and had plenty of room to spread out or join together as needed. You can really tell that the owners love their property and this positively shines through. There are a few maintenance items that need to be addressed, but again remember that you're on an island. You will inevitably encounter a little peeling paint and bugs.
My only true criticism about this property is that it is advertised as overlooking a private lot which overlooks the beach. In reality, the private lot is up the street a bit and Sea Breeze is directly adjacent to another pair of houses that sit on the beach. Don't get me wrong, you still have a great view of the water and beach from Sea Breeze, however, the view is certainly not what I had anticipated based upon the properties description and pictures. I think everyone in our party felt a bit disappointed based upon our expectations.
This was a small speed bump and had little impact on our week. We had a great time as a family on North Captiva. If you really want to get away, I would strongly recommend checking out North Captiva and giving this property a look as well. -

Seabreeze is a beautiful property. We did have an issue with the golf cart but it was immediately addressed. Seabreeze offers plenty of room. Fantastic sunsets from the front decks. The provision of the golf cart, kayaks and bicyles at no additional charge was great. We kayaked out with the dolphins!
It was the first time we had visited North Captiva Island. We can't wait to return! -

North Captiva Island is an awesome place to visit.
My family has spent many weeks of vacation in southwest florida but had never heard or visited "North Cap".
We loved the calm, quiet beach getaway.
Our children could walk everywhere and feel safe and secure.
You feel as if you have left the country for the carribean!
North Captiva Island Club made the journey simple and easy.
Seabreeze is location on the island is perfect.
Steps away from the most beautiful stretch of beach on the island and conveniently located to the island club.
Seabreeze is well equipped and the set up of bedrooms/living space is awesome.
Seabreeze however is in dire need of updating, repair and maintenance.
The home must be for sale as the onwer seems to have given up on maintaining the exterior and overall cleanliness of the home inside and out.
We would rent Seabreeze again however would first make sure that the home has been cleaned throughly and that the screened in porches have been replaced or repaired.
Seabreeze top deck has an incredible view of the
island birds nesting and feeding their young.
However, the birds and their visitors left behind a filth that noone had cleaned in a very long time and as a result we could not enjoy the wonderful view.
North Captiva Island Club was nice, food delicious and people and staff very friendly.Response from North Captiva Island Club - 04/16/2012

Thank you for your comments. The screens doors are being replaced on the porches and the owner has asked us to do a thorough walk thru. It is the owners intention to make sure every detail is attended to. You can be assured the next time you rent Sea Breeze, the screen porches will be in top shape!

Beautiful island. Well maintained. Polite service that moves on island time. Seabreeze was a beautiful home. Fit our family well - came as a group of 5 - 3 teenagers. Well equipped. Beautiful views. Many little nooks and porches to find some quiet. Minutes from the beach and main harbor. What we liked best was the beauty and peace and quiet. Hardest part was managing food. Restaurants are minimal which is fine, but local store carries little. Next time we will plan better. We could have asked for a better get away.

This is a nice property. Our only complaint had to do with the fact that our trash was never picked up.

We had a relaxing wonderful week at Seabreeze - the home is bright and fully equipped with beautiful ocean views , great sunsets and screened porches full of sunlight wonderful for having our meals . The beach was not crowded and the use of the island club with the kayaks and pool was a real bonus , as was the use of the golf carts. Everything at check in was smooth and we just loved our week at Seabreeze - highly recommend North Captiva as a vacation spot for rest and relaxation!
