Overall this rental was a perfect fit for our trip. Nice, clean and just the right size. We had a blast. It's hard to find a bad spot on North Captiva, but that said, the Rockstar house still stands out as quality. It felt slightly newer and was very well maintained. I just wish I could have stayed longer!

From a simple internet search, I found the Rock Star house on North captiva Island and from beginning to end, it was a wonderful trip. Starting with Sarah, who always replied promptly and had great advice, to Steve, the owner of the house who also was prompt and very helpful (not to mention owning an awesome house on the island!!!), to the captain of Island Girl Charters who made sure to slow the boat so we could snap pictures of the dolphin jumping in our wake, this was a perfect trip! Rock Star was perfect for us (just me and my husband, though the house has 2 bedrooms), super clean, beautifully decorated and cozy - we loved the privacy and convenience of having a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, wi-fi, etc. The island itself is a hidden gem - no cars, only a golf cart to get you around, and truly everyone is on "island time," so was impossible not to relax! Eat at Over the Waterfront - chef is a delight and we had an incredible meal. Also Barnacle Phil's - great food and casual. Having never been to the area, we didn't know what to expect, but every aspect of the trip was great - just hope we get the chance to go back!!

We stayed in this lovely home for a week with another couple. It was very nice! It is the ideal location to escape from "regular life" and relax and live at a quieter and more peaceful pace... live the "island life."
Everything was clean and in pretty good condition. Our only wish was that the golf cart was larger or that there were two included with the house - it's extremely hard to get a day's worth of beach goodies and 4 people down to the beach in one little golf cart...but we managed.
We were anxious about not having enough to do - but since our objective was not to do any more than we had to and to lay around and relax... the house was perfect for this. We ate out a couple of times - loved the environment of "Over the Water" and my favorite dish was the Havannah at Barnacle Phils!
The nature trail was nice - we rode bikes, which I recommend only if you are up to grueling physical labor - the trail is soft sand...not easy to pedal through. I would have loved to gone down to the southern end of the island with a golf cart... the shells are extremely bountiful at the southern end of the island.
We had a great time and look forward to returning to the area again sometime in the future. :)

North Captiva is a place time has forgotten. Steve Ballard has a hidden gem in his Rockstar Home! Our family arrived drained an mentally exhausted and left recharged and connected! The home is amazing and everything I was looking for and then a little more! The house is immaculate and two minutes to the most amazing sunsets!Everything has been thought of and our stay could not have been better. We are already planning our return! Thank-You for sharing a small piece of paradise!

Our vacation at the Rock Star Beach House was wonderful from beginning to end! The Rock Star is a beautiful home, down a very quiet lane on a secluded, peaceful island. We loved all the French doors to the decks, and kept them open to let the balmy breeze blow through the house. We ate all our meals out on the quiet deck off the kitchen, enjoying the osprey, cardinals and woodpeckers, and looking over our shells. Cathedral ceilings really add to the open, airy feeling of the great room/kitchen. The bedrooms are very nicely decorated, the beds super comfortable. The master bathroom is enormous and fabulous. The second bath is smaller, but also great with its lovely ocean blue theme. The whole place is very clean and beautiful.
Everything about the island is laid back... we did not wear our shoes or sandals for two full weeks! We liked that the only transportation on the island is foot, bike or golf cart (which was a blast). Steve, the owner of the Rock Star, and amy, the caretaker, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. It really makes the vacation to have such nice people making sure you have everything you need. In short, we were so pleased with this house and the whole island that we have already booked it for next year!
If your vacation needs several restaurants and nightclubs with bands, etc, you will not find them here. But if you are like us and a quiet, beautiful beach is your main thing, with a gorgeous house to return to after an award winning sunset, you will love it! -

Girls' Weekend went perfectly at Rsbh! The ease of renting was great. The location is close to everything. The house had everything we needed, is decorated beautifully and is sooo comfortable. It is perfect for adults. The hot tub was perfect. The showers were just okay due to water pressure being somewhat low. The bathrooms are spacious and well done. My television did not work in the master bedroom, but we mostly watched the large television in the main room anyway. It's nice to know that someone is there on site for you if you need anything. I would definitely stay there again.

Everyone involved with the Rock satr Beach House was professional, helpful and personable. The home was immaculate and in a beautiful location on the island. The home had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend on the water. Amy the care taker was a wonderful hostess and tour guide. She added alot of "fun" to our trip.

The "Rockstar Beach House" is exactly what we were looking for from a house rental. My wife and I were traveling with another couple and the house was perfect. The bedrooms are spacious with french doors that open up to the large deck on the front. This is continued into the open floor plan of the great room, where the french doors provide a nice breeze. The jacuzzi on the back deck is a great way to either start or end the day. We are between the ages of 26-32 and were looking for a quiet relaxing vacation, this was everything we could have imagined and then some. We really weren't sure what to expect out of the North Captiva after learning that most people spend the entire week without leaving the island. At first we were concerned there wouldn't be anything to do. That is certainly not the case. We saw more wildlife than we ever anticipated from the dolphins swimming in our wake on the ferry over, to the manatees we saw when we rented a boat for the day. I am personally not the type to write reviews but based on the excellent hospitality the house and island gave us I felt it was necessary. I would strongly recommend this house to families or newly married couples. Everyone on the island is so laid back and welcoming!

North Captiva is one of the most special places that i have ever been to! Staying at The Rockstar Beach House made our vacation even more perfect. The house had everything that we quite possible needed and so very comfortable. Very relaxing home, what else would you expect at a 5 star Rockstar beach house!
