      Perfect getaway

Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We were on the Bluefin Beach House for the second time and again we had a perfect vacation. We were 2 families with 4 kids and enjoyed the comfortable house. We cooked a lot, what was an easy thing with two dishwashers. Barbecue was much easier this time since there was a gas grill on the same floor than the kitchen.

Amazing home. 3-4 short lots from the beach is perfecto for walking or taking the carts. Three toddlers and nanny in the bunk room plus three other couples each with their own ensuite...awesome layout. Home is amazing. Getting ready to book for next year.

Only thing missing is apple TV(s) & docking stations for iphone 5 for the house sound system...otherwise a perfect vacation.

      Bluefin Beauty!

Left on 02/26/2013 for a stay in February 2013

This home was awesome Great views! We had 8 adults and there was still plenty of room. We spent a lot of time by the pool listing to music. The pool was heated and was facing the sun. The Spa was nice too when it was a little cooler or at night. This place is great for relaxing and getting away from it all. The home was very clean and new! Amanda was always very responsive to any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this rental! Thank you for a great time!

      Beautiful home

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Our family stayed at Bluefin Beach House late Dec and early Jan. The house is immaculate and well maintained. Enjoyed the home and all it's amenities. The ocean temperatures were much cooler than expected, therefore getting in the ocean is not an option, but the air temps were nice enough to enjoy the beaches. Bring lots of groceries because the restaurant choices are very limited and expensive, and the small grocery store has very few items on hand. Traveling to and from the mainland can be expensive for larger groups. We will definitely return during warmer times to enjoy the ocean and stay at this house which is one of the newer, nicer homes on the island.

      Peaceful and Perfect

Left on 07/27/2012 for a stay in May 2012

When looking for a vacation spot, you always are a little wary of what you are getting, there is no question with this one. You get exactly what you see, and could not wish for anything more. This place was perfect! If you are looking to get away from the daily grind and spend quality time with family and friends but do not want to be caught in a crowd, this is the place for you. The kitchen had everything a chef would need and the rest of the house had everything else. You could tell that the owners took time when building and thought of everything. Between time at an almost private beach, the swimming pool, the hot tub, and amenities of the clubhouse my children ages 8, 9, 16, 18 along with the other family that joined my wife and I we never found ourselves trying to plan our next day. Whether it was breakfast on the balcony, sunsets on the beach, or shelling in the state park, we found that time almost stood still. We had fun fishing in the Gulf at night and Kayaking with the dolphins in Pine Island Sound. Communicating with the owners was simple with all of my questions answered in a timely manner. We are looking forward to our next stay, bringing more family, and showing them what a real vacation is all about

      Our Bluefin Beach House adventure

Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Our stay at Bluefin Beach House was for a glorious 2 weeks in early July and all of us found it to be the perfect beach house on a great island. There were so many great things - the 3 king master suites and the kids bunk room all with their own unique bathrooms, the large 3rd floor living space with an exquisite kitchen and screened in deck, the screened in deck on the second floor complete with a swinging bed, the docking stations for music throughout the house and, of course, the fantastic pool area.

After getting a tour of Bluefin Beach House by Captain Steve, we all quickly settled into a comfortable routine of relaxed breakfasts, lots of beach and pool time, family dinners and sunsets. We even managed two fishing trips.

We did use Captain Steve to ferry us on and off the island and more importantly for the provisioning services. This service was the best and I highly recommend it.

We also purchased the baby and kids packages which provided all we needed for our almost 6 year old, almost 5 year old, 18 month old and 4 month old grandchildren.

I cannot describe to you all the amenities that are a part of this house. The owners, Mandy & John, thought of everything and even had a book in the house describing the process of building Bfbh which added a whole new sense of appreciation. The kitchen was complete with all that we needed and more and there was an abundant supply of things like paper towels, laundry/cleaning supplies and beach and bath towels.

North Captiva Island itself is a special place and lends itself to a way of life that we truly enjoyed. No cars, no shopping malls and no getting dressed up! Loved it!

Mandy, John and Captain Steve kept in touch during the entire process and always responded to my emails quickly and with good advice. I now realize that part of the "fun†was all of the planning leading up to a great 2 week stay for our family at Bluefin Beach House!

      Paradise Lost

Left on 06/19/2012 for a stay in June 2012

What a wonderful experience during our stay at Bluefin, which is such a true paradise not far from our home in Orlando. Having vacationed in both North and South Captiva before, we knew what to expect of the island amenities prior to our arrival, which is exactly what we wanted. We have two young children (8 months and 3 years old) so we purchased the additional baby and kids package - which I must say was very pleasant and was really generous with what was provided. We pre-cooked a tremendous amount of food so that we could maximize the beach and pool time for the week, which we had no problem bringing over on the Ncic ferry.

The house was really beautiful and had all kinds of tech gadgets that really made the week that much more comfortable - such as docking my iPhone in the dock by the pool and having a control to run my play list through the outdoor speakers. Maybe the Wii in the bunk room for the kids? Or the automated pool and spa heater? All of the aV and tech is what you would expect in a million dollar home.

We spent the mornings on the beach with all of the provided Tommy Bahama chairs, umbrellas, and kids beach toys. We ate our lunches by the pool where we had all of the lunch supplies stocked in the outdoor kitchen (with a BIG ice machine for all of those poolside frozen drinks :-)) We spent most of the afternoons by the pool while the kids were napping in the house, and we did napping of our own in the hammock and outdoor swing bed.

Our evenings were wonderful, we prepared big meals for dinner with the entire family in the gourmet kitchen while enjoying the sunset through the panoramic beach side windows. After putting the kids to bed, we would pull more bottles of wine out of the wine fridge and finish the night off on the 3rd floor screened porch with the iPhone playlist.

I did go and rent some fishing poles for the week and unwound by fishing off the beach a few days. I did catch some Trout, Flounder and Pompano - which we enjoyed one night. Lots of Manatees swimming along the beach and I left a few sandcastles for you to see next time you are there!

Can't wait to go back! Thanks Mandy for a wonderful experience that will surely lead to us coming back.

Wonderful house, nice location, helpful Captain Steve!

Left on 06/18/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Lovely home and perfect for our family of eleven...6 adults & 5 kids, 11 mos. to 6 years. The second floor was perfect for the kids and their parents. My husband and I had the 3rd floor master on the same level as the kitchen and family room. I did purchase both the Kid and Baby packages and that was great for all of the kids. This house has a lot of steps so would not be good for anyone having problems with them. As this is a beach house, there is sand everywhere and the owners have requested no shoes upstairs. If a person has foot issues, bring a pair of shoes just for inside. The 3rd floor master shower has imbeded rocks for the flooring so bring a pair of shower flip flops for there. We did have Captain Steve purchase our food ahead of time and that worked very well as the local store doesn't have very much. We also had Steve take us to another island one afternoon to do shelling. Shelling wasn't very good, but the kids had fun on the beach. Mandy St. Clair was great to work with and was always able to answer any questions that I had before we arrived. My adult children rated the house as the best equiped kitchen that we have ever had, which is very important as we cooked all but two lunches there. We had lunch at Barnacle Phils one day and at the bar at the club another day. The pool and spa were great esp. after being on the hot beach. Kids and adults both enjoyed it. I also used Pine Island Taxi to take us from the Ft. Myers airport to the Pine Island Marina where we met up with Captain Steve and his boat. This all takes some planning, but is quite doable. Makes for a long day for the kids and adults too. A terrific vacation for all of us in a wonderful home!!

      Fantastic Upper Captiva Vacation Rental

Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We recently spent a week in Florida and after a fair amount of searching decided that this property would suit our group perfectly. We had three couples, each with two children. Each couple had their own spacious master suite, and all the kids happily piled into the 6-bed bunkroom. (There were only a couple of fights over who got the top bunks.)

I've stayed in a dozen or so different rental houses over the years and this one was by far the nicest I've ever been in. The quality of the house, the furnishings, the attention to detail... all top notch. We had plenty of space and never felt cramped, even at mealtimes. Plenty of room for everyone.

The pool is a great option if you feel like getting wet but want a break from the sand and the waves. There's tons of space around the pool for the kids to play. You can lounge in the sun, or chill out in the shade of the house. The pool area come with plenty of niceties like a fridge, ice maker, dishwasher, outdoor speakers and its own bathroom. It's easy to spend an entire day out there.

For either the beach or pool, there was a giant closet with folding chairs, pool and beach toys, towels, etc. Those all got plenty of use.

Both the upper levels of the house have very large screened in porches yet more comfy chairs. Great places to sit and watch the sun set.

The owners are tech geeks after my own heart, and the house is fully wired for sound. You can dock iPods/iPhones in several different locations and play music through the built-in speakers, or listen to satellite radio. We never turned on the TV, but there were plenty of movies to watch, and tons of games to play if you got bored.

Virtually everything in the home performed flawlessly. We had one little issue with the spa because we didn't completely understand how it worked. The owners responded promptly to an email, though, and cleared it right up. (Using the house wireless that also worked perfectly the whole week.)

Paradise on North Captiva Island -Bluefin Beach House!!!

Left on 04/23/2012 for a stay in April 2012

Spring Break week april 2012!! Two families (5 girls ranging from 8-12 yrs)! First time visiting North Captiva and we truly loved the serenity of the island. Bluefin Beach House was amazing!! It was so clean (I'm a neat freak), was beautifully decorated and had every amenity you could possible think of. It truly exceeded our expectations! Much planning went into this oasis!!! The girls loved their bunk room with everything in it from the bed furnishings to their own tv, dvds, wii and of course their own beautifully decorated bathroom. When they weren't swimming in the ocean or the pool they hung out in this cozy all out cool room!!! I particularly loved the swing on the screened in porch!!! I miss my daily naps...:(!!! Loved the short walk to the beach and the simplicity of the island. Beautiful sunsets, lots of shells, sand dollars and turtles (especially the turtle with the hole in his shell) . We saw him everyday he must live near the home) . We loved exploring on foot and especially on our golf carts!!! It was so cool and peaceful to be on an island without cars for a week!!!We were all so relaxed on this vacation that it was hard to get back into the swing of things when we got back home - but would do it again in a heart beat!!! You will not be disappointed in the Bluefin Beach House!!! We hope to be back real soon!!! Thanks for giving us such a memorable vacation that we will remember for years to come...
p.s. Captain Steve was the best - from answering all our questions we had about the house and the island and most of all doing all our grocery shopping for us!!!

A relaxing beautiful home and island

Left on 03/01/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We stayed at the Bluefin Beach House Feb 18 for a week. The weather was absolutely perfect and the home exceeded our expectations. The owners have thought of everything from beach chairs, towels, coolers, games, and music. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets so luxurious it was hard to get up in the morning! However, the sound of the waves beckoned us to the beautiful beach where we searched for sheets and dolphins.
If you want a laid back peaceful vacation this is the place. Every afternoon. We met at the pool to take a dip and enjoy the hot tub. The bedrooms and bathrooms are so beautfully appointed everyone was happy with their choices.
Touring the island by golf carts we decided we had the best house on the island. We hope to return next year with our grandchildren.
The owners were wonderful to work and Captain Steve is a treasure

      Great Vacation!

Left on 01/08/2012 for a stay in December 2011

We just returned from a fabulous week at the BlueFin Beach House on N Captiva Island. We were a group of ten, ranging in age from 11 to Grandparents. The house suited us perfectly - the design of the home is very thoughtful and accommodating for all. The three master suites were lovely and we liked having our own private baths. The kids loved the bunk room! The great room and kitchen are really wonderful - magnificent view of the ocean and a very light and airy feel. The kitchen was super well appointed - they had everything imaginable including two dishwashers which came in handy with a big group. The weather was a bit chilly, so we took full advantage of the hot tub. We did use the provisioning service provided by Captain Steve, nothing like opening a fully stocked refrigerator in the kitchen as well as the pool fridge stocked with drinks upon arrival! The house also provides beach towels, chairs, umbrellas - it was great not to have to lug all this stuff over to the Island. We enjoyed the beach, shelling, fishing, biking, going to Cabbage Key etc. We also used the tennis courts at the club every day, thrilled to find Har-Tru courts! All in all, it was a great vacation and we would all recommend staying at BlueFin Beach House!!

All the comforts of home and then some were provided. The owners spared no expense in decorating and attention to detail and it looked exactly as it did in the pictures. We spent a great deal of time in the pool and greatly appreciated the 1/2 bath, kitchenette area, & the sound system! We stayed in the Blue Room which was absolutely beautiful and had the best bed I have ever slept in. We used Captain Steve for groceries which I highly recommend using his provisioning service. This is by far the best beach house on North Captiva Island! The Bluefin Beach House exceeded our expectations with it's beautiful views and incredible designer furnishings. My kids loved the built-in bunks beds, and the views from all the bedrooms were breathtaking. The house was fully stocked with every kitchen appliance, beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, and anything else you would need to have a stress-free vacation. It was a wonderful surprise! The kids loved the cool bunk room and the pool was just perfect for them. They were also so excited to see the many tortoises, dolphins and even a big manatee in the natural setting. The open concept kitchen, dining and living room was so fantastic and the the big windows allowed for the best views. We're already planning for next years vacation and can't wait to return. thank you again for allowing us to spend our family vacation in your home.

5 college grads decided to go here to celebrate our 60th b-days. We could not have picked a better place. We absolutley loved it. The house was immaculate, well laid out, and just perfect! We hardly ever left, except to explore the island, hit the beach(so close) and enjoy the pool. Some of us used the kayaks and swam laps at the island club pool. We made memories and talked about old ones! The screened in porch was our place to eat and talk late into the night! Beautiful sunsets every night. The best rental ever!

My Family and I stayed on North Captiva Island for 10 days. This was absolutely the best vacation ever. This is sucha serene place with beautiful beaches, lots to explore. We saw turtles, dolpins, bald eagles, all types of birds and fish. This was a great adventure. We enjoyed hiking through the preserve and kyaking around the island. A great place to unwind and enjoy family. We also made a sand snowman just because we are from New England. We started each day with a sunrise and each evening with a bottle of wine and a sunset it doesn't get any better than that. Also kudos to the staff at the North Captiva Island club who were all very friendly and saw that we wer happy. Also a shout out to captain Ted for a great ferry ride. Our family of 12 varied in ages from 1 year to grandparents. This was our 3rd house on North Captiva, and it was by far the best. The attention to details by the owners was exceptional. Two dishwashers? Never thought I would use both, but they were perfect with a group of 12. We had 8 adults and four small children, who were never bored and are still talking about this place! We would definitely return.

A sparkling comfortable home which easily accomodated the eight of us. The accoudtrements are complete and high tec, the heated pool and jaccuzzi delightful on a cool evening. Both the beach and the exclusive club are just a stone throw away and the service provided by Captain Steve totally satisfactory. We were fortunatre to have made such an excellent choice!

Extraordinary Stay at the Bluefin Beach House

Left on 10/17/2010 for a stay in October 2010

The Bluefin Beach house was exactly as described by the owners. The property is maintained exceptionally well and in immaculate condition. Many amentities in this home made the stay very comfortable including the salt water pool, satellite music thru out the house including at the pool, screened in porches with great views. The weather in October was so nice you could leave the windows open and hear the ocean. This is my third trip to North Captiva and this house is "perfect".

      Amazing Home, Perfect Get-Away Location

Left on 09/19/2010 for a stay in August 2010

This vacation home is truly fantastic! Our group came for a long girls' weekend/yoga retreat, and consisted of 11 women. The accommodations were exactly what we were looking for - spacious, clean, and luxurious, with room for all of us to gather together and plenty of nooks to find privacy as well. The interior of the home is beautifully designed down to the last detail - everything you need is there, and then some. A few of us are already talking about coming back with our families and children next time - the bunk room is great! Overall, very well thought-out home, and just steps from the beach. Easy to get around the island, and a fabulous place to get away.

      lovely vacation home

Left on 09/01/2010 for a stay in August 2010

We enjoyed our stay at this home very much. Because it was just the two of us, we used the top floor only and had a little lower rate. I'm sure we will bring our children in the future. The decor is very lovely and streamlined, the views from the house are great. Every kitchen utensil you need is there (we cooked in the whole time). The home is wired to the hilt- stereo system inside and outside by the pool, and a very complicated TV system that we spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to use after we had trouble getting sound. The owner and a "stereo guy" tried to help us through it and in the end we were able to get sound but unable to play Dvd's. We were disappointed by that because we don't usually watch TV and prefer to pop in a movie. The bed in the main king sized room is extremely soft- too soft in our opinion, but that is a matter of taste. We were unable to have a regular-temp pool and a hot-temp hot tub at the same time. No matter what we did the hot top and pool were the same temp. These were very small issues in the scheme of things and we enjoyed the house as a whole. I loved that every single detail was thought of- there is a whole closet of beach equipment including towels, a fully equipped kitchen (loved the stove!), a comfortable living area, and very nice owners to deal with. We used the bikes and golf cart most days and overall thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

      Total Relaxation

Left on 08/27/2010 for a stay in August 2010

What a fabulous place - definately not your typical rental home! Beautiful interiors - even better than the photos. We got met at the marina by Captain Steve who took us across to our island by boat, and then onto our home for the week by golf cart. We took one large suitcase for the week, we could have managed with a hold-all, shorts,t-shirts and a couple of swimsuits are all that needed. Absolutely no dressing up required!
The home is just steps from the beach, and most days we had it to ourselves. We went searching for turtles and racoons, which you see on most trips out on thr island.
One day we hired a boat for the day and sailed around the local islands and to the manatee hole, which is so peaceful.
We all absolutely loved it here and would definately love to visit again, and we dont often say that.
On your trip make sure you take advantage of the shopping service that Captain Steve offers, as you really cant buy much at all when you are there, no fresh stuff at all. You can always get a water to the supermarket if needed, but why waste your vacation in the supermarket?

Left on 08/09/2010 for a stay in July 2010

We have been renting beach houses every summer as an extended family for nine years now. Bluefin Beach House has definitely raised our standards! The house was spotlessly clean and has every ammenity you could possibly want or desire while at the beach. The entire house was decorated to perfection. The kitchen has fabulous appliances and most anything that was needed to prepare gourmet meals every evening. The items that were supplied for us helped out so much to lessen the amount of stuff we had to bring to the island. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the mattresses were of luxury quality. The pool area was very relaxing. We loved the color changing lights at the pool and spa! We were suprised while we were having dinner to see all of the beautiful colors!! Captain Steve was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. He took wonderful care of us making sure we had everything we needed. We used his services for water taxi, fishing, and shelling excursions. Can't imagine going back and staying anwhere else! We are ready to rebook for next summer!!

Vacationing at Bluefin was a very different vacation experience for our family - we completely enjoyed the slow pace and the quality family time that we were able to have.

The owners have truly thought of every detail - there were games for all ages, movies, music. Every sort of amenity was considered in the design of this beautiful home.

      Relaxing Getaway

Left on 06/02/2010 for a stay in May 2010

What a great house on a great island. This house is equipped with everything you could possibly want right down to the beach towels! We were looking for a place to get away from it all and relax and found North Captiva Island, but just couldn't find the right house until we found this one. Bluefin was perfect for the three of us girls to celebrate our 40th birthday. With it's 3 master suites - no sharing a bathroom! But of course it could easily and comfortably fit 3 couples and 6 kids (the bunkroom and it's bathroom are even more adorable in person). The bedrooms and bathrooms are decorated beautifully and it's definitely the best stocked kitchen of any vacation home I've ever been in. The pool and pool area was great. Lots of sun or shade - whichever you prefer, or a very short walk to the beach. We spent a lot of time on the decks, which are screened in for protection from the bugs. And make sure you take a nap on the daybed swing on the second-level porch. There's satellite TV and lots of movies. We got a ride in from Captain Steve, who (for a reasonable fee) purchased and put away our groceries. He took us to Captiva Island for a day trip and he's also available for fishing trips. He's much more flexible than the ferry. I can't say enough good things about North Captiva Island and the Bluefin house. I wish we could have stayed for a month.

The island was wonderful, and the house was better than even described. It had every amenity to make our stay (with 12 people) comfortable & enjoyable. Mandy, the owner, was wonderful to work with, as was Capt. Steve, whom she recommends you use for water taxi & food provisioning. Everything was much easier than I expected (and I was traveling with 4 kids incl. a toddler and an infant). Very short walk to the beach, and the house includes all the beach items you need. We will definitely come back again!

The bluefin beach house was wonderful. The pictures and information of the house on the website were very accurate. We didn't have to ask about anything as the website answered all of our questions. Very beautiful house with all of the best ammenities. The beach and pool were fantastic. The owners have thought of everything. Captian Steve 4 U transported us to and from the house. His service was excellent. We also used Captian Steve's grocery service and all of our food was at the house when we arrived. Great service. Captian Steve and the owners were available to answer any questions that we had at anytime. My friends especially liked the gourmet kitchen. I would most definetly visit the island and stay at bluefin beach house again in the future.

      Beautiful Bluefin beach house

Left on 03/29/2010 for a stay in March 2010

Our vacation started out great with grocery service provided by Captainsteve4u. He took care of all our shopping and then bringing it to the house, that was such a big load off my mind,(and my back)! We were picked up at the dock by Steve and brought to the Bluefin. Wow! What an amazing home! Every detail was thought of, from the solid construction to the beautiful decorating, the whole house was amazing! The bathrooms!! What beautiful tile colors, we all loved the showers! The sound system was very cool, we all got a chance to play our ipods on it. The kitchen had every appliance you could ever use or want, the stove and ovens were easy to use. The laundry room was nice, the machines were top of the line. The closet by the front door was great, it had all the beach things in it and there were hooks everywhere to hang wet towels. The pool and spa were very comfortable, nice and warm! The house is so close to the beach, what an amazing location! There were nine of us staying at Bluefin and we all loved it, and, we all slept great! We would love to go back again!

      Stunning house on North Captiva

Left on 03/14/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We had a great stay at this beautiful house! Luxury from top to bottom, this brand new house is beautifully decorated with attention to detail that you rarely find in a vacation rental. This large house is truly stunning, with high tech features and beautiful views from almost every window.

The kids zone and baby zone saved us - it was so great not to have to travel with all of our baby gear, and our 3 year old was fully entertained on rainy days by the closet full of toys and crafts.

Only one house back from the ocean, you could walk to the beach in less than a minute. The ocean near the house is a little rough for young ones to play, but gorgeous for strolls and sunsets. A short golf cart ride and a refreshing hike through the state preserve and there is a lovely long stretch of beach to spend the day. We did that with our young ones every second day, and were almost always alone - except for the odd sea turtle.

We were there in January/beginning of February and it was very quiet on the island - definitely for you if you want to get off the grid for a spell. Once you settle into the pace, you won't want to return.

The St. Clairs were incredibly attentive and responsive to our needs, which were few and far between. Because they really did think of everything.

      We'd highly recommend this rental.

      Fabulous family vacation spot

Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in February 2010

Even before we arrived, Mandy and John made us feel welcomed and invited with the communications. We traveled as a party of 7 and were very pleasantly surprised that we were met at the dock by John and Mandy was at the home when we arrived just by chance. They couldn't have made us feel more at ease about our choice. The home is beautifully decorated and well equipped for any adventure you may have on the beach or in the kitchen. The kids room is everything that a child could want for a vacation and the Wii is definitely a great distraction for any rainy day you might have while there. During our stay, we reported a very minor problem to them and the response was immediate! We could not have been more pleased with the response.
The home is a very, very short walk to the beach which is important since there are other homes on the island that require use of a golf cart. There are bicycles at the home which we all enjoyed, and all you need for the pool and the beach (boogie boards, skim boards) and everything was in excellent/like new condition.
The home is gorgeous and you could not go wrong with a rental from Mandy and JOhn - they are fantastic.

Left on 03/01/2010 for a stay in February 2010

Our family has stayed at some wonderful houses on Captiva and North Captiva
      - this one surpassed them all!! The owners are knowledgeable and helpful.
The house is perfectly situated on the island with a stunning view of the ocean
from the main living area/kitchen/dining room. It is a very spacious house
with lots of areas to relax and take in the tropical beauty. The home has been
thoughtfully designed and provisioned and the decor is really "beachhouse
chic". It is wonderfully provisioned with all the technology you could want -
satellite radio, beautiful lighting system, whole house sound system,
computer, etc. The bunkroom is really a treat for the kids including their own
TV and Wii. We utilized the assistance of Captain Steve who is a real gem! We
would highly recommend his boat outings/fishing trips. We feel fortunate that
the owners shared their beautiful home with us.

      Great house on great island

Left on 02/21/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We just returned from a fabulous vacation at the Bluefin Beach House and highly recommend it. The house is even nicer than advertised -- beautifully designed, thoughtfully laid-out, and yet very kid-friendly. The 3 master suites and bunk room made it perfect for our three families.

The owners are terrific to work with. They are easy to work with, very organized, and excellent in communicating information and responding to questions. They have paid a great deal of attention to the details of a comfortable stay.

The island is indeed a bit remote and therefore requires signficant advanced planning in terms of travel, groceries, etc... (Tip: We found the grocery provisioning and kid zone options helpful). However, the island has an unspoiled beauty, and a quiet, casual, slow pace of life that makes the planning and journey well worth it.

Everyone in our party -- adults and kids -- had a great vacation. We can't wait to go back again!

      It's A Gem

Left on 02/02/2010 for a stay in January 2010

The Bluefin Beach House exceeded our high expectations. It's certainly among the loveliest homes on the island. The well-planned interior is stunning AND practical. The house is smartly sited to take advantage of beautiful Gulf views. It is much closer to the water than it appears in pictures. The floor-to-ceiling glass window wall in the great room slides open to a spacious screened deck, opening up the interior so that even when you are working in the kitchen, you feel like you're outside. The owners' attention to even small details make a big difference here, e.g., the sleek design of the deck railings limits obstruction of the great views. There is a terrific sound system wired throughout. Really comfy beds! Mandy and John the owners are very nice and responsive. Do take them up on their offer to arrange for Captain Steve to take you (and all your stuff) to and from the island, he provides highly customized service. Also, consider having Captain Steve do your provisioning in advance of your arrival. His reasonable charge for this service is well worth getting your order right. The Bluefin Beach House has too many great features to begin to list. It's a gem.
