Stardance, located at the private North end of the island features warm wood flooring, Decorator Furnishings, French doors for those great panoramic views of the Pine Island Sound. Cozy 2000 sq. ft. under air and over 3500 sq. ft with decking. Read or doze off in the hammock on the first living floor decks, it feels like you are in a tree house with the vegetation surrounding the home. Walk to the second floor but be prepared for the “WOW†views of the Pine Island Sound as you step onto the last step.

We like to vacation with another family the week between Christmas and New Year. Staying on North Captiva is a different type of vacation. Here you immediately feel at home! You feel like you are part of the island.
The island lays a 1/2 hour boat ride from Pine Island. Our golf carts were waiting for us at the docks at Safety Harbor and our adventure began. The 5 kids we had in our party liked bopping about in the carts to explore the island through out the entire week.
We loved Stardance the minute we arrived. There was plenty of modernly decorated rooms for our 2 families. All the girls slept in one bedroom and the lone boy in another room. We two couples each had a room & bathroom for ourselves. The set up was perfect. The common areas and kitchen allowed us to all spend time together. I personally loved having my morning coffee on the deck off the kitchen. The decks are magnificent and accessible from the many glass doors on the main floor.
The kitchen and bathrooms were well-equipped and had every amenity we needed. There were plenty of towels and necessities. We both stopped for groceries on the way to Pine Island and were able to stock up on enough to make it through the whole week. If you plan a list this is easy to accomplish, however a small store on the island may have a necessity you run short on.
The owner of Stardance, Chuck was incredibly helpful. In advance he made sure we had all of the information we needed for a well-planned stay. He even brought over fishing equipment and a bogie board for my lone and outnumbered son. They kids also enjoyed the pool at Stardance often into the dark of night.
The feeling created at Stardance is one of a private family retreat. There are beautiful beaches to explore, plenty of wildlife,(we saw,sharks,dolphins,Bald Eagles and many Osprey) and picture perfect sunrises and sunsets.
The fact that our kids were planning a stay with their kids in the years to come says it all.

Chuck was wonderful in comunicating with us how to arrange transportation to and from the island. He hooked us up with the grocery service and marina. Everything went smoothly. The home is bright and clean and there were enough decks and spaces to spread out around the home. We had a range of ages, and everyone found activities they enjoyed, from reading in the hammock to hicking the beaches and fishing. We loved the variety of wildlife we came across and were facsinating by all the birds and fish!We loved wathing sunsets from the beach or the rooftop deck. the only suggestion I can make is that the home adds more hooks for wet towels and suits. We had a memorable stay.
