Moondance is located on Island Drive, in the town of North Topsail Beach, on Topsail Island -- a 26-mile long barrier island located between Wilmington NC (35 miles south) and Jacksonville NC (20 miles north).
There are three towns on Topsail Island:
Surf City (middle) est. 1948
Topsail Beach (southern) est. 1963
North Topsail Beach (northern) est. 1990
Two bridges access the island. A swing bridge in Surf City, and a high-rise bridge that connects North Topsail Beach to the mainland (Sneads Ferry area).
There is a single major north/south road running the entire length of the island for around 21.5 miles, with side streets to the ocean and/or to the Intracoastal Waterway. Occasionally there is a road that parallels the major north/south road on wider areas of the island.

After staying at several houses in Topsail and OBX over the years, we have found our home away from home at Moondance!
This was our 2nd year staying at Moondance, & our largest group yet. With 14 adults & 5 kids, there was still plenty of room. The kids had a blast bouncing back & forth from the pool to the beach every day.
The layout of the house is great, easy to relax on the deck or prep meals while still keeping an eye on the kids, then all eat family style together each night. The house is very comfy...super clean and beautifully decorated! The beach is also clean and feels very private.
A few of us ventured to a nearby spa & stores, but most were content to never the leave the house all week!
We had one issue where we needed to flip a breaker switch after a storm...the owner was a phone call away and we had the problem solved in minutes.
Such a great vacation. Can't wait til next year! -

Moondance is an amazing place to vacation! The house is wonderful - beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and exceptionally comfortable. All of the little things have been considered and everything one needs is there! The views are amazing - dolphins dancing by while you have coffee on the porch swing. Very relaxing! The kids had a wonderful time on the beach and found lots to do within a reasonable driving distance when they felt like doing something different.

We had recently stayed at Moondance with a group of friends from all parts of the southeast. What a great way to get everyone together and enjoy a week of fun on the beach in a beautiful home.
The home has a nice modern, beach look..and is definitely one of the most tastefully decorated homes in the area!
Access to the beach is easy and safe..with a great shower on the walkway to rinse off before heading back to the house.
The master suite is great..dual shower heads and an awesome view for morning sunrise! Make sure to head out to the balcony in the front of the house on the same level for an amazing sunset view!
We had a minor problem with the hot tub when we first arrived, but the pool guy came out and had everything up and running by the next day! No worries because the pool is nicely heated, and a perfect size for everyone to enjoy. We had 3 children in our party, and all loved the pool and the downstairs game area!
Overall, we had a wonderful at Moondance, and highly recommend to anyone looking to stay at a nice, clean, well maintained home in N. Topsail Beach! We will be back! -

This house is beautiful and the layout is perfect. The main floor deck has stairs to the patio below where the in ground pool is located. The main floor deck also has a boardwalk across the dune and down to the beach. There is a hot tub on the main deck and an outdoor shower on the patio. The inside of the house is very clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen is very accommodating to heavy traffic from all your guests. Two dishwashers, plenty of cabinet space/drawers, a large breakfast bar, built in ice chest, and all the appliances you could possibly need. As for the kids, they had a great time playing in the game rooms on the ground floor. Pool, foosball, and ping pong to name a few. The final thing I have to mention is how beautiful and private the beach was. We have stayed in many vacation rentals before, but none like this.
