  While we enjoyed our stay, there are many improvements to be made! The beach and views were gorgeous and everything was there that we needed. How ever there needs to be upgrades to the condo. When we walked through the door, we immediately noticed an interesting smell and went through the place with a can of Lysol. As you are walking through you notice many repairs that need to be made to the place as well as upgrades that need to be done (such as the second full bath's shower doors do not move very well. Finally as you were lying in the beds, you felt the springs poking you which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.

  Since my previous response, the homeowners have made some significant improvements about which I wanted to make you aware.
  
  They have completely renovated all 3 bathrooms with new tub/showers, new toilets, new cabinets, mirrors, and new flooring. All carpeting and flooring has been/will be replaced (except the hall and one bath which were tiled and in excellent condition). The popcorn ceiling was removed throughout the home. All the rooms have been painted.
  
  The owners renovated the kitchen last year, so it is in very good shape too. They have a nearly brand new interior now, with new furnishings in the living room and dining room. Next year they hope to replace the bedroom furniture in the last two bedrooms. They are kind enough to offer a loyalty discount for previous renters of their home as well. I hope this helps as you are planning future stays.

  Summer Vacation 2012

  We had a blast, as usual on Topsail Island. This was our favorite unit so far. Private, spacious, great parking! There is an aC in the master bedroom which is wonderful at night. Perfect space for this family of 6 (4 adults and 2 children)! We will rent this unit again and would highly recommend it to other vacationers. Unit had everything we needed and more!

  This rental has lovely views of the ocean from the top two balconies. The balcony on the lower floor looks directly at the dune. The kitchen is very nicely updated, however, the refrigerator door swings into the adjacent wall nearly every time it is opened (can get pretty annoying). Most of the rest of the interior is pretty dated, including the bathrooms. The properties in North Topsail Beach are a pretty good distance from shopping, dining, etc. in Surf City which can be a blessing if you want to be away from all the traffic, but inconvenient if you need to make a quick run to the store. Also, the beach in this area was quite dirtier than in the other areas of the island due to the old asphalt road nearby being slowly washed away by the ocean. Some days, the sand was almost black. Be aware that with the close proximity to Camp Lejeune, helicopters and sea planes frequently fly over from early in the morning until late at night. If you are looking for luxury accommodations, this isn't it--but it is good enough for the moderate price.

  Regarding distance to shopping and dining, the North end of the island now has a restaurant/karaoke bar (at the St. Regis resort), located about a quarter of a mile from Shipwatch I. There is another restaurant at the Villa Capriani, a couple miles South of Shipwatch. From Shipwatch, it is about a 10 minute drive to Sneads Ferry, where Treasure Realty’s office is located. Here you can find 3 convenient stores, a Food Lion, Rick’s Restaurant & Sports Bar, Lorelei’s Pub & Grill, an ABC store, ‘Em R Wings, NY Bagel, Denoia’s, Dominoes and Pizza City, Andy’s, T’s Café, Madison’s Steak house, McDonalds, Hardees, a BBQ restaurant, 2 Chinese places, Cancun (Mexican), a CVS, Wings, Tsunami, and a couple of coffee/ice cream shops. Don’t forget fresh local seafood available at Captain Jim’s and the historic Riverview Restaurant, which are also located in Sneads Ferry. Surf City, which is about a 20 minute drive, has a plethora of options as well.
  
  My husband and I live on the N. end and we haven’t seen black sand by the Shipwatch condos; hopefully, that is a very rare occurrence. We do have some noise from Camp Lejeune, which we like to think of as “the sound of freedom.” ;-) Our house guests often enjoy watching the hover craft on the N. Tip or gazing up at the various aircraft that fly over.

  What a beautiful rental property! Very well maintained & taken care of. Beautiful all around decor. We had a wonderful stay & will definitely come back! The beach was beautiful & quiet, not overcrowded like other places. Pleasant experience with treasure realty. Overall just a great time! I would defiantly recommend this property to all of my family and friends.

  Peaceful Stay

  This was our 3rd year renting from Treasure Realty but our 1st year staying on the ocean! It was amazing! Being able to see the ocean first thing in the morning, and the last thing at night, was so wonderful! We sat out and ate dinner on the deck every night. We had 5 kids with us and being able to walk straight out to the ocean, to play/swim, was the best! Our condo was cozy, clean and had all the things we needed to make our stay comfortable!

  We have made it a yearly event to take our family to Topsail Island in June and we always use Treasure Realty. Each time it has been very professional, the staff is very helpful with even the smallest things and any questions I may have (which I'm sure can be too many at times). Everything has always been as it was stated and we love the island and the properties we've rented. This house in particular was very comfortable and as close to the beach as we need. Lovely location and clean. No problems at all and I would recommend, and have several times, Treasure Realty for vacation rentals.
