This was our second annual trip to Topsail and I say annual because we plan to come back every year! The home we stayed in was so cozy and comfortable. The views were breathtaking! The house was big enough for all of us to stretch out, relax and have our own space! The kitchen had more than enough supplies for me to cook and serve the food for all 12 of us! My son said the house felt like home and he didn't want to leave. I agreed! Had a wonderful vacation and tons of memories to last a life time. Can't wait till next year!

This home is extremely dated, which you can see in the photos, but we thought the location would be worth it. Not! Unless the tide is out, you cannot walk on the beach directly in front of the house. How close the water comes to the house at high tide is a little un-nerving, especially at night. Actually a bit creepy, sort of "Day after Tomorrow"ish, particularly if you were in one of the first floor bedroomsbecause the water is literally under the house. Oceanfront, the house is missing several boards and the stucco is coming off. From the first floor deck, it was kind of embarrassing to see the looks on people's faces as they looked at the house...like they couldn't believe someone was staying there. The furniture was old and stained and half the burners on the range don't work unless you are willing to jiggle and mess with them. The beds were uncomfortable and sagged in the middle in three of the bedrooms. The couch in the living room had sand all over it and had to be vacumed. Overall, I was disappointed in this rental. I have rented from Treasure Realty in the past and always had a great experience...a little surprised that they would accept this property in it's current condition.

The good news is that the property has recently been purchased by a new owner. He is waiting for the off season, when the home is no longer rented, to make some major updates! With regard to the erosion, the town of N. Topsail is working on a beach renourishment project. This is our 5th year to Topsail and first time renting from Treasure Realty. Treasure's check in and check out was very smooth and would rent from them again. The stay was wonderful and the area of the beach was great. Thou the house needs TLC we understand new owners just took over in July. I would love to see another set of steps to get to the beach other than the basement access. Amenities were fine but would like to see a griddle for larger families. We look forward to returning next year.

The location is just the best it is very privat but close to everything. The House is great enough room for all of us . the ocean right in front of you lots of room for play in the sand.
But the reason we gave it a 4 star and not 5 is that the beds are not to compfy they are well used and some of the pull outs need to be replaced
other then that it was great -

The house was in a beautiful location, but the quality of the house was very poor. It needs a lot of work outside and inside. The house was musty, and had an odor to it. I'm not sure if smoking was allowed in it or not. the picture is an old one, when the house was in better condition. The realty company would not switch us to another house until we had been inside of it, we wanted to switch when we drove up.The problem with switching, is that You are tired when you get there after a long drive, it's hot and we were'nt sure if the house they were switching us to would be any nicer than this one. The deck looks like it could fall apart, the steps to the below deck are blocked off because they are falling apart. The entertainment area in the bottom/garage area is just full of broken, junk toys. the bikes are unridable.the only way to get to the beach is through this junk room. The views are beautiful, but the house needs a lot of work.

Disappointed

We usually stay at another property for our vacation week however it was rented for the week we wanted. After much internet research and viewing many pictures and descriptions, we choose this property instead, based on lovely views shown in the pictures.
A very unpleasant surprise awaited us. I understood from the pictures the home was a little dated in decor, but I did not expect it to be unclean and in disrepair. The carpet was filthy, there were pieces of ceiling coming down in master bathroom, heavy mold around master tub, the built in grill on stove in the kitchen was so disgustingly dirty that we would not dare cook on it, black mold growing in the bedroom window sill, just overall uncleanliness and no maintenance. It was obvious that this place has been severely neglected for many years, and the cleaning leaves much to be desired. (the owner told us she arranged for her own cleaning and maintenance)
While the property itself was terrible, Treasure Realty's staff was wonderful, working with us to get us in a clean, acceptable property, after finally obtaining a release from the owner of this property.

All I can say is the views were heavenly but the house is in dire need of repair and a makeover!!!Carpets were nasty, dead roaches, seriously leaky roof when it rained, but the views and location made up for the less than desirable accommodations.

I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a quiet family vacation.Beachfront home where you can sit on the patio every morning and step right out on beach for a day on the beach. If you have little kids that need to nap you can catch some sun on the 2nd floor deck and still feel you are on the beach.
The only downfall to this home is the last time we stayed, the tide was very close to the home and seems as the sand area was becoming less and less than the years prior. In turn, forced some of the neighbors to share the beach area infront of our home and take from some of the privacy we had the years before.

Phase I of the project is complete and the beach in front of these homes has been extended seaward approximately 170 feet!

We stayed at 2378 for a week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house had everything you would need. There was plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed watching the moon rise every night over the ocean. I had never seen the moon rise. We also enjoyed that the doors to the deck opened totally allowing us to get the full ocean winds. We had a memorable stay here and loved it so much we hated to leave.
