Description from the owner
This is a house built between 1830 and 1870 by the first farmers who came to the Karoo. The house is built of stone, even the roof, because there were no other building material, for the Karoo is a very dry region in South Africa.
Everyone enjoys the little history of the Karoo and wonder what it was like to live here when they look up in the stone corbelled roof above.
Incredible stars at night make it a unique experience wich you will not see at many other places, because it is situated on a farm away from other lights and polution.

Additional notes from the owner
Me and my wife,Natasha are sheep farmers in the Karoo in the Northern Cape province
of South Africa.
We have been living for 33 years on the farm. We like to deal and meet our guests in person and make sure they enjoy their stay on the farm.
The Corbelled house (the name comes from the building style in wich the roof is formed like) we renovated, because there are only a few of them still standing, many had fallen apart, and they were built only in a small area in the Karoo in South Africa. This is a dry area and there were no trees in those years,so they had to build these houses completely out of stone, even the roofs.
Our guests love it to sleep in this piece of history and wonder what it would be like in the old days when they look up into the stone roof above the beds.It is equipped with everything for self catering.Candles are used for lighting to keep the old atmosphere in the house.
