californiaWould rent again

As usual, I had to scramble to plan a last minute Xmas vacation for 7 of us. Luckily, I found this unit managed by Sierra Vacation Rentals. My contact Fran was very nice and helpful throughout the process. Initially, I was looking for a 2br condo in the middle of Northstar Village, but none were available. We found this unit located in the Ski Trail Condos, just above the village. At first I was concerned that it wasn't close enough to the gondola to truly be a ski in/ski out condo, but it turned out to be convenient. Even with a fresh 2-3 feet of snow, you could walk 50 yards to the closest ski run and then ski down to the gondola. Once on the lifts you could ski back down within 50 yards of the condo. At night we frequently walked to the village for food, beverages and ice skating. So, overall it was the next best thing to staying in the middle of the village, but for about half the price. The condo itself was in good shape and well stocked. The kitchen was nice with newer counter tops and appliances. The condo is on the smaller side, but will sleep 7 between a comfortable bed in the master, 3 beds in the 2nd bedroom and a queen sofa bed in the living room. The living room picture window provided a beautiful view of the snow covered trees and the gondola. I would rent this unit again.

Rental was in good shape. Remodeled since had last stayed there. Good quality and nice remodel. Needed a hair dryer (or a note on the contract that one is not provided), and more toilet paper. I had to buy paper goods for a four night stay. Shouldn't have been necessary.

we found the place to be more than we expected. it was a sweet condo right on the ski trail which made it accessible to the village and the ski lifts. the place was clean with a nice new kitchen & lovely upstairs en-suite bedroom. in fact the pictures we saw of it didn't do the place justice, it was nicer than how it looks. we had a very enjoyable stay. we hope to return next year. we also found sierra vacations really nice to deal with, when i was booking the place everyone i spoke with were very helpful in helping us get the place that was right for us. we all really enjoyed it.

This place is nicely located. The kitchen is exceptional. Really nice remodel with wide stone countertops.
Place had a "Master Bedroom" with a queen-sized bed but NO DOOR. That was a BIG disappointment.
I went up there with my son and his girlfriend, and they had the "Master Bedroom", but the bedroom had no door so they had very little privacy.
Also, no internet connection. They didn't promise that, but I've come to expect it. Lots of wireless networks are active but they apparently don't subscribe.
I felt that I had been misled, defrauded, CHEATED.
Not likely to rent from Sierra Vacations again. -

Austin, TexasThe new village is wonderful!

We stayed at a very comfortable condo above the ski area. A very short walk and you are at the village. The walk is through the tree and snow and leaves you with a much more mountain feel than being actually in one of the "hotel-like" accomodations in the village itself. The condo is clean, well located and very functionable. The only downside is a shared clothes washer and dryer. Not coin operated, but just shared with other condos (not a huge deal just more time consuming because it is something you definitely like to use while you are there). Access to the village is wonderful and the village is truly first-class. We had a great time!

Awesome personal service! When we needed to change our original unit to a smaller one S.V.R. went over and above to help us make the change with their extremely friendly staff. They even found us a place closer to where we needed to be (within walking distance). The unit was stocked with the essentials needed to have a very relaxing, comfortable stay. Watching the skiers go by our window on the gondolas was absolutely amazing for city people!! S.V.R. even arranged to have it snow on our last full day there. Our sons wedding at Northstar Resort wouldn't have been half as amazing without S.V.R. We definitely plan to return for another awesome vacation.
