First thing - I think Tripadvisor have picked up the price incorrectly - we paid less than £150 per night at Christmas (I suspect they may have picked up the price in Rand by accident).
We stayed there at Christmas and it was fabulous...the decor is from the pages of homes and gardens, beautiful but also wonderfully comfortable!
It has a just one bedroom, which has in front of it, a little sitting area (with chaise longue) and an open plan bathroom (roll top bath). Outside the patio door to the side is the outdoor shower (very private - don't worry!) which was perfect in the africa summer sun when we were there!
There is a really comfortable sitting room with large t.v. at the front, small study/hall which leads into a well fitted/well equipped kitchen and dining room - with the second 'winter' living room, cosy with its fireplace.
Outside the front is a lovely small swimming pool, steamer chairs and BBQ with a really great view of the lake - pretty much all you need for a relaxing stay!
Locally, there is just the Yacht club down by the lake which has a small bar and regular braai events. Otherwise, in terms of food, you need to pop up about 4 miles up the road to the local Spar which pretty much covers most daily needs and then there is the craft stalls all the way along the road - great for pooching about and finding something you fancy!
Just one aspect to be a little wary of - because of the elevated position of the house, the driveway is quite steep so be prepared to give it a bit of umph to get up there !
