Description from the manager
Located in the famed Huacas section of Nosara, this beautiful property offers great views of valley and ocean, and is peaceful, very private.
Once you have passed the gate, and driven down a short driveway, you will enter the house by a large wooden door, and the first view of the inside of the house is a feeling of spaciousness. Going down a flight of stairs, you will be in the large room with high ceiling including a living area, dining table and the kitchen, but you will never feel overcrowded. The living area has a set of leather couch and seat, with satellite tv and books. The dining table seats six persons if you have guests over...Read more

ArundelThis is a fantastic house!
Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Made our 3rd annaul trip to Nosara in mid-March. Have stayed in 3 different homes and this was by far, the best one yet! All had good aspects but this home is extremely well-cared for, well-equipped and well-appointed. We are veteran home renters and it's noticed when a home has everything it needs and doesn't feel like a rental. Pots & pans match, the dishes are an actual set, not castoffs, and so forth. Master bed & bath were very comfortable. I loved the walk in shower. Kitchen is gorgeous and the outside area is very comfortable and private. Pool area has hammock, adirondack chairs and two loungers that can moved for sun or shade.
The cleaning person came twice during our two week stay, she was very unobtrusive and does a great job. Gardener and pool service also come on a regular basis and again, unobtrusive. Agnes and Jo from Mango Property Mgmt. checked on us a couple of times; we're pretty self-sufficient so had no concerns but they answered a few questions for us about the area, etc.
View from the home over the valley is fantasic. You don't get a direct sunset but the clouds turn gorgeous shades of red & orange. Full moon while we were there and that was gorgeous as well. A little bit of monkey activity and several pisote sightings.
House is very secure, with a remote controlled gate, home alarm system, iron gates and bars on sliding doors. Initially it was a bit of a production to lock & unlock but I appreciate the security.
Only challenge we had was with the new apple TV the owners just set up. Internet speed wasn't quick enough to download a movie but I think there may be a setting to correct. We really didn't need to watch TV anyway - nicer to sit outside and enjoy the breeze.
All in all, a perfect property and we would love to stay there again!
When asked if I would recommend property for older travelers/people with disabilities, I said no b/c of the stairs up to master bedroom and down to main living area. -

Just returned yesterday from a two week stay at Vista Hermosa in Nosara. This is our 3rd March vacation to the area and our 3rd different rental property. While the homes we stayed in previously each offered their own positive traits, this was the best one we've stayed in, hands down. We are experienced renters - having rented houses in many places around the us, the Bahamas and here in CR. This house was perfect - it's well thought out, well-designed, very attractively appointed and immaculate! Everything works, which sometimes can be rare in rentals. We enjoy doing some cooking when we rent and the kitchen had everything we needed but not duplicates of everything, e.g. 10 mismatched pots & pans. You can tell that both the owners as well as Jo & Agnes from Mango Property Mgmt. are on top of things.
It was just my husband and I in the house so the size was perfect for us. We loved the pool & deck area. At first we agreed with another reviewer and thought the pool might be chilly but they had had several days of strong winds and we thought that may have cooled off the water. As our stay went on, we found this to be accurate and the pool warmed up nicely. There are two sets of adirondack chairs by the deck and two loungers, as well as a hammock so plenty of options for sun/shade exposure.
The master bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and well laid out. I love the walk in shower!
The house is very secure, with a remote controlled gate, security alarm, gates/bars on all doors & windows. Initially it seemed a bit tedious to lock & unlock everything but I do appreciate the security. We had no instances where we felt nervous and the area is patrolled by a private security company overnight which is an added comfort.
If I had to find one flaw, it was specific to the new apple TV the owners put in. I was successful in entering my itunes account & password and purchasing a movie; but the internet speed was very slow and the movie took upwards of 8 hours to download. Needless to say, we didn't end up watching it. I think there may be a way to correct this within the settings but at that point, it was too late. The music option worked great though and we quickly decided it was nicer to sit by the pool, enjoy the view and have a beverage rather than try and watch Tv. This is minor so don't let it deter you.
Found working with Jo & Agnes with Mango Property Mgmt. to be a true pleasure - they are very professional and personable. Totally on top of things. All said - assuming the owners still choose to rent out their house (and I would not blame them if they didn't and decided to stay in it all winter!), we will very likely rent Vista Hermosa again next year. -

MontrealFantastique! Excellent

Perfect place. We have come from Montreal for 3 weeks, very quiet, no neighbors, monkeys, birds and coaties came to visit us daily. Clean place, wonderful pool, hard to go to the beach when you can stay in such a nice and peaceful place.

Casa Vista Hermosa; wonderful, private home in Nosara. Amenities; lacking for nothing. The knife, the blender or the aC, it's all there. The home is laid out extremely well. Out back you spend all your time at the pool and sitting area, the view is wonderful across the valley and out towards the mountains. The panoramic landscape is extremely private. Some noise behind you as the road gets some traffic. Not major, but it's the main access up a large hill to the homes in this area. Not terrible, but it's not 100% quiet either. On the other hand, neither are the howler monkeys which wake you every morning. We love that noise! The entire home and property are kept extremely well, Pool and sitting area are wonderful with an outside shower. Beach is 5 minute drive. If you know the right parking area, it's wide, long, clean with few people on it! The maint. people were quiet and respectful. Hint to the owners; would recommend at least a couple of chaise lounges to lay out at the pool, there were 4 chairs with 2 ottomans, but chaise lounges were sorely missed. The pool is a bit colder than what you might expect as it doesn't get quite enough sun . There are locking steel gates on the windows and doors that do not take away from the look of the home, but for those looking for extra security, that and the alarm system affords you that additional security. Had zero problems. Had one issue with front gate. Agnes and Jo were on top of it, w/Jo made sure work was done promptly and correctly. Hats off to their quick response. It tells you a bit about how they take care of business and their customers. We viewed the house initially on FlipKey, and simply put, what you see "is" what you get; a really well kept, modern, private home w/all the bells and whistles in a delightful area of Nosara. Nosara is a good mix of young and old. not a backpackers haven or suited only for surfers which we very much appreciated.
