Elk River, MinnesotaAn oceanside paradise with luxury accommodations!
Left on 05/24/2012 for a stay in February 2011
My wife and I love to travel and this vacation to Villa La Estancia stands out as an all-time favorite! Every day we soaked up the warmth and sunshine of Nuevo Vallarta (just north of Puerto Vallarta) as we listened to the waves crash on the beach. We lounged poolside, enjoying delectable meals and appetizers served by the exceptional La Casona Restaurant. We floated into the infinity pool, swimming up to the bar for refreshing signature cocktails. We paddled kayaks into the pristine bay waters. We walked the delightful shops of Bucerias. And we finished each day in a bubbling beachfront whirlpool, watching the sun slip into the ocean. When it was finally time to turn in, we returned to our luxury villa accommodations and drifted off to sleep listening to the waves on the sand. I can't think of a single thing that wasn't magical about our vacation at Villa La Estancia. The only thing you'll complain about is having to leave! Thank you to owner Bill Smith for the trip of a lifetime - we'll be back as soon as possible!

We have stayed at Villa Estancia once before, and we were just as pleased as the first time. The unit was close to the beach, beautiful views, and clean. We love the resort and would come back again. thanks!

We loved staying at VLE in unit 1403! We have stayed here before and Bill provided us with a much better value than our last stay in the same type of villa. The unit is spotless! The view is beautiful and the price can't be beat for what you get! It is the price of your average hotel room in many tropical locations, but you get an entire home!
Vle is very exclusive and quiet. You have your pick of the chairs at the pool. The local Mega grocery store is close and allows you to cook out of your own personal kitchen all vacation! One downer is that VLE doesn't allow you to bring your own personal food/drink to the pool. They say that it competes with the poolside bar. This was a bit curious to us since we were one of only about 10 total people at the pool.
It was OK, since we ended up eating most of our meals overlooking the beautiful beach and ocean on our personal patio table and chairs in the villa. Not a bad place to have breakfast!!!
We would absolutely return here again and again! We will book with Bill again since he gave us such a great price! -

Santa BarbaraWonderful place for a family to stay!
Left on 10/25/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Villa La Estancia is a beautiful resort with all amenities necessary for a great family vacation or to rekindle romance or celebrate an anniversary. The stay is even more enhances by staying in Bill's villa "1403". The balcony is huge. We made full use of the outdoor grill by grillling some fresh Dorado. Evenings spent on the balcony sipping Champagne or in the hot tubs or hammocks by the beach watching the setting sun with a loved one are unforgettable. "1403" is beautifully furninshed with no expense spared. We have stayed in many Ritz Carltons and Four Seasons resorts, but found 1403 at VLE as or more comfortable than any other resort or room.
Thank you Bill for allowing us the honor of staying in your amazing villa during our wedding.
Also special thanks to Miguel and Luis at the front desk, Liliana, the chief Concierge, Manuel the Pool Concierge, Hugo the swim up bar bartender and Mavi the waitress by the pool. You made our stay one to remember always and we look forward to seeing you all very soon. -

Villa La Estancia is pushing for their 5 Diamond status and it shows. From the grounds to the rooms, this place is immaculate and a great place to relax or come back to after an excursion or a day of exploring/shopping.
The staff was great and they even checked on us because they hadn't heard from us in the first few days of our trip!
We rented unit #1403 from Bill and it was more than you'd ever need for a vacation. What a view!
Great experience all around. Highly recommended! -

Salt Lake City, UTFabulous Family Vacation!
Left on 07/16/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We stayed in this villa for a week and loved every minute of it. The villa is spacious, beautiful and well-stocked with a full kitchen, a grill and a washer and dryer. It has an amazing view of the pool and beach over the huge deck. We rented both sides of the villa (A&B;) so adults and kids had our own sleeping spaces but could meet up in the middle living area and on the deck. In addition, the resort staff were consistently the most friendly, attentive and accomodating I have ever encountered. The benefit of staying at Villa La Estancia is that it is quiet and relaxing. Plus, if you want more social interaction, you can use the facilities next door at Flamingos and participate in their group activities. I highly recommend this villa to anyone and will definitely plan to stay here again the next time I am in the area.

Vancouver, BC, CanadaNothing short of fantastic!
Left on 05/10/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Villa La Estancia and unit 1403 was everything Bill said it would be. From the accommodations to the service, it was all first rate. Unit 1403 was perched over the pool, above the palm trees with a direct view of the ocean. The home was luxurious, clean and in top condition. We enjoyed relaxing and eating lunches on the spacious lanai listening to the ocean waves. Having the Flamingos property next door was handy, as our 2 year old daughter enjoyed the activities and the pool.
We dined twice at La Casona, the steakhouse on the property. If you like steak, this place is for you and is not to be missed.
The staff at Villa La Estancia was terrific. No request was too small and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I would highly recommend unit 1403. Dealing with Bill was a pleasure and we look forward to renting with the Smith's again. -

Lansdowne,VAUpscale relaxation -- pure and simple
Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in March 2010
La Villa Estancia is an amazing property. It sits right there on the ocean front in Nuevo Vallarta. Its beaches are very private and not infested with time share pushers.
I have stayed in room 1403 twice. It is perfectly situated for viewing stunning evening sunsets from its private balcony, which also gets complete shade in the morning...making for a perfect spot to eat breakfast. It is on the 4th floor, just above the tops of the palm trees that surround the pool. Your low enough to feel part of the resort, but high enough to have a good view of the ocean.
Room 1403 is versatile. If you have a couple of friends that you can vacation with, renting out the entire thing makes sense. The whole thing is about 2000 square feet and includes a high-end kitchen area, dining table, living room with HDTV, and huge sliding glass door out to an amazing balcony. The balcony has a table, a couple of lounge chairs, and a Weber gas grill (sorry purists, no charcoal).
If your party is just one or two people, choose 1403-A (which includes the kitchen, dining area, living room, etc) if you like to have space to spend quiet evenings lounging in paradise.
If you are the type that is always out and about and need just the room, go for 1403-B.
It should be noted that 'just a room' has two queen beds, spacious closets, a private section of the huge balcony, HDTV, and a huge bathroom. And it should also be noted that pretty much the whole place is made out of expensive rock (marble?).
The pool area is perfect. Palm trees, lounge charis in shallow water, hot tubs, ocean view, etc.
Service is relaxed. Ask for your check ahead of time. And you may have to whistle at somebody to get a boat drink...but you will get it...and it will be good.
The spa is great too. I had a very manly body scrub and 85 minute massage for the sake of research....and would recommend it for those men that are into that sort of thing.
This is a great place to unwind. -

Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in March 2010
My wife and I stayed in the B-unit (size of a decent hotel room) of 1403 Villa La Estancia in early 2010 and had an excellent time. The room was exactly what we were looking for and the whole complex is excellent: good restaurants, friendly staff, very clean etc...
We really loved the area: long beach, lots of waves, excellent pool. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a week or 2 to wind down. -

Houston, TXAmazing stay in 1403B!
Left on 02/20/2010 for a stay in February 2010
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Villa La Estancia, unit 1403B! Renting directly through the owner was so easy and efficient, we knew exactly what to expect when we arrived. Check in was good, could have been a little faster, but hey, it's Mexico. The unit was fabulous, just like a hotel room at a resort, including the amenities. Loved the Bvlgari bath products! The view was amazing, 4th floor with view of the pool and ocean. The owners were in the unit next door, and it could not have been better. Had total privacy, even on the shared balcony. Staff were very nice and always willing to help. Sometimes on the slow side, but always with a smile on their face, which made up for it. The property is gorgeous, very comparable to a 4 or 5 star resort. The pool is beautiful with plenty of chairs to choose from, both in the sun and in the shade. We ate lunch by the pool and enjoyed what we ordered each time. Drinks were great too. Spa was absolutely wonderful, a must to see and relax in during your stay. Everything about the room and property was fantastic. The only things that could have made it top notch are: 1. Lobby bar (there is one at the resort next door, but would be nice for VLE to have one); 2. More restrooms by the pool (only one stall) and 3. Breakfast buffet (restaurant at resort next door offers one). Overall, an amazing stay and we will be back!

Left on 02/04/2010 for a stay in December 2009
We were pleasantly surprised by how well furnished and beautiful this
condo was. It was our first time to Puerta Vallarta and I'm so glad we
stayed here!
From the time you arrive you realize this is a relaxing
resort and very well maintained. The rooms are all laid out well and the
balcony is spacious with a great view! We had coffee there each morning
and cocktails at night sitting and watching the people on the beach or
admiring the sunset.
We took a quick cab ride to the Mega for
groceries, but there is also a deli/grocery in the lobby for whatever
you need to cook in the well equipped kitchen.
We would definitly
recommend this unit to all our friends! -
