My wife, three kids and I thoroughly enjoyed the Penthouse. It was spacious, clean, very relaxing, beautifully furnished and in the best location. We are already looking at dates for next year and hope to use this room again. The facilities at the Novotel are also exceptional, with great resturants a short walk out of the resort.
Can not recommend highly enough. We spent 5 night here then move to the Dynasty in Kuta. Next time we will not leave Nusa Dua. The (private) Beach Club is pure joy, buffet b/fast was the best way to start the day and poolside is where we spent a great deal of our time. If you are after a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle, this is your destination accomodation. -

Thanks to alex and Dian for helping us have the perfect family holiday.
We stayed in alex's apartment for 10 nights and loved every second of it.
Having 3 small children is was great being able to make breakfast in the mornings for them in the kitchen and not have to worry about getting down to the resort breakfast and also having a washing machine to do a load or 2 of laundry.
We will most definitely be back next year. -

My wife and 2 young kids (aged 3 & 9) stayed for 8 nights at the Penthouse Ruby Nusa Dua in late March early april and had an absolutely wonderful experience. To begin with, Alex is such great guy to deal with. My dealings with him over the internet were easy and done in a relaxed and professional manner, thus putting me at ease. His manager Dian and driver were also very courteous and prompt. The apartment is spacious and is great for a family.
Here are the positives:
- The resort is a high quality resort, situated in the prestigious Nusa Dua enclave with a gym, swimming pool, kids club all free for guests.
-A great restaurant onsite (probably cheaper than most local tourist restaurants), a nice little bakery offering wifi and great snack and milkshakes.
-A 24 hour mini mart onsite.
-The apartment is fitted out with high quality fittings and furniture. My jaw literally dropped when I first walked in.
-Has two bathrooms.
-Fully equipped modern kitchen.
-Free bottled drinking water.
-Washing machine (a must with young children) along with free washing powder.
-Resort staff are exceptional (typical of Balinese)
If you would like a nice relaxing holiday in Bali away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta then the Penthouse Ruby Nusa Dua is the perfect place. Furthermore, Alex's rates are probably half those if you booked through the hotel directly or any other comparable accommodation. Alex is such a true gentleman that when he misquoted the number of time the apartment will be serviced (3 instead of 2), he honoured the third one free of charge. That's the kind of person you want to be dealing with when travelling with your family.
Room for improvement: The wifi is extremely slow. Could not log in to my bank or webmail as it kept on timing out. This really needs to be looked at. -

Tha place was well located and safe. We did some self-catering and also used room service. The bakery inside the hotel grounds was nice; we brought bread and coffee there every morning! The hotel staff were all graceful and courteous. Nearby (at walking distance or regular shuttle buses) you can find the Bali Connection, with lots of restaurants, massage parlour and shops. Behind the hotel there is a small Italian restaurant with delicious pizzas!!! The beach is a walk away or you can use the frequent shuttle bus. The swimming pool is very big! -

We were blown away by the quality of this extremely spacious apartment. The views were great from the two private balconies. Very high quality furnishings and lots of privacy for both the kids and the parents. It was the perfect start to our holiday. The hotel is also wonderful, staff were attentive and caring. Thanks alex for the wonderful memories our family will always cherish. Oh and the washing machine is a god send for those longer stays.

What can I say, we arrived with a 4 year old and an 11 month in tow and it was a relief to walk into a spacious and very welcoming self catering apartment! The highchair was a great surprise, making meal times a lot easier with the little one and our 4 year old loved the huge bed in the second room!
We actually live in Jakarta and the last thing we wanted to do was go anywhere in traffic, so it was a pleasure to just relax and hang out in the apartment and the surrounding hotel grounds. There is also a great little cafe, the hotel restaurant, a small Circle K (7 Eleven style store) and my boys favourite, the pool. Oh and 5 minutes away by bus the little hotel beach that was very calm and more than adequate for us, and it has a bar :-) There is also a free shuttle to The Bali Collection, a retail and restaurant haven about 5 minutes away.
Probably the only thing I would suggest is bring some front loader washing powder as we couldn't find any in the shops.
I highly recommend The Ruby Penthouse if you have young kids and you just want to relax and perhaps prepare some of your own meals. It was a real pleasure staying there and if we head back to Bali anytime soon we will definitely be back there! Thanks alex and Dian:-)

We enjoyed staying at Ruby Penthouse. The apartment was really nice and had everything we needed. It was well furnished and with 2 little kids the washing machine was a bonus. It has a lovely view and the gardens of the Novotel are lovely. The kids loved the pool and the beach was great.

This penthouse is lovely. As a family of two adults and two children this penthouse afforded us the space and facilities often missed on holiday. The two large bedrooms, two bathrooms including a huge and luxurious ensuite, dining, lounge and huge balcony ensured we had plenty of room to relax. The kitchen enabled us to self cater, handy with two little ones, and it was strangely nice to just chuck on a load of washing when required! The hotel itself is the typical resort. The pool was large and it was possible to swim in different parts each day. The service around the pool is excellent, and we enjoyed a number of very nice meals in the restaurants, all of which were reasonably priced. Eating just outside the hotel wouldn't save you much money, if any at all! Although we didn't leave our kids in the kids club, it was still possible to take part in activities and use the facilities. Our kids loved it! The kids club staff were wonderful and the children's pool next door was adored by our smallest. The easy access to the convenience store was great and we enjoyed the cafe. The beach is a little disappointing, small and too sunny for us, but loved by many others. The electric bike was a huge hit with my husband. Finally, the service was lovely, and it was easy to organise a driver. It was also easy to access massages and restaurants/convenience stores just outside the nusa due complex. Last point, the golf course that used to be right next door, isn't anymore...just a huge pile of sand while they renovate it...just in case you are looking for a game of golf...

The hotel was great, kids club was one of the best according to my 5yr old daughter. All the rooms are the same size with differing decor. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and the rounds bed in the main bedroom made every one that came for a look gasp. Having the kitchen and washing machine fascilities make it very convenient also. The price was fine with me value for money and if you want slightly cheaper other less lavish apartments are available. Hotel breakfast wasn't to bad but I'd probably eat out next time, Staff were very helpful as is normally the case in Bali. I'd definitely recommend this to my friends and I'd love to go back.

Our family of 3 had high expectations from the glowing reviews & photos we'd seen of Penthouse Ruby and I am happy to say we were not disappointed.
The apartment is spacious, well appointed and in a great location within the resort. The service provided is professional, friendly & well organised.
The large balcony off the living room and 2nd bedroom is a great place to relax in comfort with a cold drink while overlooking the resort & Nusa Dua.
The pool area at the Novotel is fantastic and despite being a busy time of year (Xmas/New Year) we never had trouble finding a sunlounge or daybed (often a complaint about hotels!!).
We would happily recommend Penthouse Ruby to anyone looking for family-friendly accommodation within a resort environment.

Our family 2 adults and @ children 13 and 15 all had a wonderful time at the Ruby Penthouse. The rooms were spotless and the resort was of a high standard. The staff were all very helpful.
The suite itself accommodated our needs excellently and Diane was superb in making sure our stay was comfortable. The complimentary drinks and the water dispenser were very much appreciated.
I am a traveller that likes privacy and being on the top floor provided just that. The washing machine was also a bonus as the laundry is very expensive to have done through the resort. Alex did advise that breafast was not included in the price so keep that in mind when you book. I would gladly stay at the penthouse again.

We are currently on the last evening of a 4 night stay at this apartment, which is the beginning of our first 2 week long trip to Bali. The apartment is excellent and fantastic value for money. The Novotel complex is lovely with a fantastic pool and great food. Kids club looks great, although we did not use it. Lovely to just spend a few days relaxing by the pool before we explore other parts of Bali. Hubby is already complaining though that the rest of the places we are staying won't live up to this place, and we will end up wishing we had stayed here the whole time.
The owners communication prior to coming and on arrival has also been excellent and very timely, so thanks for that.
The only concern, if you have small children, would be to be careful with them on the balcony as the gaps are fairly wide and so make sure children are not out the unsupervised.

Nusa Dua is not the most happening place in Bali, you better be in Kuta instead if you enjoy crowd. But for a quiet and relaxed holidays, Ruby Penthouse in Nusa Dua (within Novotel) is worth considering provided you don't mind ~ 5 min free shuttle ride to Novotel private beach (Novotel / appartments do not face Sea).
Ruby penthouse is very well maintained with excellent facilities for a very pleasant stay. All interactions with Owner as well as local support staff were very friendly and had experienced professional response throughout.
Surely a recommendation from my side and I wish to visit this place again if get a chance in future.

With three teenagers there was a lot to consider when booking our Bali holiday. Penthouse Ruby Nusa Dua ticked all the boxes. Clean and comfortable with unlimited broadband was a highlight as well as the luxurious swimming pool and room service at Novotel Nusa Dua. Beach Club was a few minutes walk if times didn't sync with the shuttle. Thank you to alex for prompt booking information and Dian for being available 24/7 (although we only contacted her during the day:)
Nusa Dua offers a relaxing hassle free from hawkers holiday however consider the distance and time travel to the north of the island if venturing out.

We recently stayed in the apartment and loved it, it had everything we could possibly want for a relaxing family holiday. Dian who met us there the first day was very lovely and more than helpful, also the driver we had for the day was great. Took us anywhere we wanted, English was excellent and negotiated some great rates for us, in fact we used Gedi again later in our trip. The Resort itself was my teenage boys favorite place in Bali as after breakfast we rarely saw them as the spent almost the entire day in the pool playing basketball, volleyball and waterpolo with the other kids. They are already asking can we go back next year, so alex I think I will be contacting you very soon. Thanks

We really enjoyed our apartment in Nusa Dua and found it to be well equipped and nicely furnished. We were however disappointed by the Novotel complex: there are much nicer resorts in Bali and Nusa Dua is a tourist trap. However, we could not fault alex, the apartment manager or our driver for their services.

We arrived at the Novotel Nusa Dua on October 17th with my husband and 15 month old son, and stayed at the premium Ruby Penthouse for 10 nights. The room was absolutely amazing! So spacious and had all the amenities you could ask for.
2 large bedrooms,
2 large and very nice bathrooms,
A spacious kitchen equipped with a stove, large fridge/freezer, plates/cups/cutlery/pots and pans etc,
A water dispenser - which you get 2 free replacements of the water bottles (I think 20L), and whatever extra you want are only 15000rp a bottle (less then $2aUD) - it also gave out cold and hot water too... very useful when you have a toddler!
good open area for the lounge and dining, so our son had heaps of room to run around and he just loved it!
I must say a big thank you to Dian, who would very quickly do anything she could do with everything we would ask of her to make our stay more comfortable. Highchair, baby cot and car seat were all set up and ready on our arrival. She would get us extra water as soon as we would ask, she even got us filter bags for the drip coffee machine.
Oh anyone looking for a commonwealth bank aTM there's one at Bali Collection in Coco's supermarket down the road. We found that out the hard way by accident.
The only a couple of complaints:
The Novotel hotel is quite noisy at nights. If you are going there with a baby and have to put them to bed quite early, this can been quite frustrating. Our son would wake up several times at the beginning of the night from all the "theme nights" that the hotel had running - which had really loud music going and most of them are run next to the pool or at the restaurant downstairs which were pretty much directly downstairs from the room - we had to have music playing in the baby's room so he wouldn't keep waking up startled. But if you're going there without young children, the theme nights actually would be nice to actually check out
the 2nd complaint - just the state of the pots and pans etc. The teflon on the pots and pans has been scratched off, and this is actually quite dangerous to be cooking on them. Maybe some nice stainless steel pots and pans to replace them would be nice.
But as far as the room goes, a wonderful place to stay and wonderful people running it. Thank you for a truly memorable and comfortable trip!!

This is my first negative review I have ever written and only compelled to do so to warn other parents who may be staying here with young kids.
Our baby was woken up 4 times at night by the Manager and Owner calling at odd hours. One night she came to our door at 10pm!!
Because we and the baby were tired for most of the trip (after been woken up and taking hours to get him back to sleep) our time here was slightly ruined but we still tried to make the most of it and overall we had a great time but would not recommend this hotel for this reason.
The room itself is great. We were very happy once we got to the room and found that it looked great as after travelling in Bali we found Nusa Dua an unusual place to stay (this was our first time). There is defiantly much better places to stay in Bali. Nusa Dua is sort of in the middle of nowhere and although it has beaches (you cannot walk to beach from hotel) the surrounding area is very baron and dry, there are not many shops or restaurants or much to do. Luckily we had a scooter and could go exploring at Tanjungbenoa where there are restaurant options. At Nusa Dua there is only resorts and resort restaurants which is not the real Bali. If you want to just stay in a resort and not really see the country you may as well stay at a lovely resort at home and save yourself the airfare.
We found alex to be really pushy when we first made the booking. Obviously he has been burnt by the customers in the past but it is no excuse to pass that annoyance onto new customers. He sent me countless emails confirming the booking even though I had confirmed it about 10 times already!
Alex only required a 50% deposit and were told to pay cash when we arrived. What he didnt tell us is that you can only get $100 out at a time there from the atms so paying the rest by cash would have cost a fortune in bank fees. We tried paying by pay pal but pay pal doesn't work at the hotel for some reason. We then agreed with the manager to pay by bank transfer for some reason there was some confusion with this and hence the reason why they kept ringing us and turning up at the door. All of that would have been fine but even though I told her 3 times not to call after 7pm she continued to do so. It was the final straw when she rang the doorbell at 10pm one night - my Husband understandably got very upset with her. We still don't understand why she wouldn't call or come by at more decent hours when she knew we had a baby!!??
We found them both to be very aggressive and untrusting. Again I suppose this is from things that have happened to them in the past (Alex mentioned this was the case) but I find it wrong to take it out on honest, reliable customers who have nothing to do with previous issues.
Anyway we did manage to have a good time there. Bali is such a wonderful place to holiday!! We also stayed at the Jayakarta Hotel in Seminyak (Suzanne Taylors place) and Villa aruna in Ubud which we could not recommend highly enough!!! Next time we go back to Bali we will defiantly stay at Seminyak and Ubud but maybe try out Nusa Lambonga or elsewhere as our third option. Nusa Dua is defiantly not somewhere you would race back to.

A great place to stay. Really enjoyed having use of the bikes. Whole booking process was really easy and convienient. Only issue was that the varandah was not very toddler friendly.

Lovely apartment, in a good location with views of the pool, all set within a great family friendly hotel. Helpful staff and a great kids club with many activities set throughout the day allowing the kids to pick and choose when they wanted to attend. Hotel also offered many other activites such as exercise classes, bike tours etc.. Would definately book this apartment for our next visit to Bali.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out we felt like we were living well above our means. The staff, the service and the surrounds were excellent. We spent 3 weeks in Bali at 2 other Villas and this was a fantastic end to a great holiday.
There are lots of great things to say about our stay at the Penthouse Ruby Nusa Dua. The food was great (the breakfast was the best value for money breakfast we've had at any resort, villa or hotel), we paid for 2 and the kids got to eat for half price. The "Pause Cafe" was excellent and the food was well presented and very tasty. Make sure you try Happy Hour here. There were also plenty of good restaurants nearby.
The resort was quite busy but there were plenty of poolside lounges and space to relax. Our daughter (13) was happy to lounge around the pool and our son (15) enjoyed the gym and the pool activities. There were 2 bikes supplied for our use but we never actually got to use them.
The Bali Collection (Shopping Mall) was very easy to access by walking and by taxi and we picked up a few bargains as well. Again, some great eating places.
Our Penthouse apartment was beautiful and well decorated making us feel like we never wanted to leave. The fridge was stocked with complementary drinks that also added to the great value and feeling of welcome. Only downside was we couldn't get the room for the whole time we were there (5 out of 8 days), but maybe next time (Novotel room was nearly as good).
Our hostess, Dian, was lovely and very helpful and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. Thanks alex for making our stay in Bali easy to book and organise and enjoy, we loved it! -

Ruby Penthouse was a lovely spacious 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor of the Novatel Nusa Dua resort. The balcony was huge and had a fantastic day bed as well as table and chairs.
We travelled with our 4 kids aged 16, 14, 7 and 2. We were a bit worried about our 2 year old throwing things or falling through the bars of the balcony (not that this could happen but it was still in the back of our mind). On the 2nd day without even requesting it, maintenance installed a safety net around the balcony. We could all relax and still get the view.
The bedrooms had loads of wardrobe and drawer space. The main bathroom is huge. We could have all slept in the bathroom if we had too :) Beds are also massive and comfy.
Apartment comes with a computer and free internet connection which is fantastic to look things up. We found an excellent nanny service, cheaper tours and theatres using the net over there.
Only fault with apartment was that it did have a sewerage smell and water pressure of showers wasn't very good but these minor problems happen most places in Bali.
Resort had all the facilities your would expect. Kids club was great although my kids didn't want to use it. It is also free of charge. Excellent day spa with reasonable prices. Plenty of other spas close by if you want somewhere cheaper.
Shuttle bus to beach only takes a few minutes. We only had dinner there once and it was fantastic. We stayed for 15 days and could have stayed alot longer. -

Penthouse Ruby Nusa Dua is nothing short of fantastic. The moment we arrived, it took our breath away. Everything that you could ask for was there, even a couple of cold Bintans to help after the long travel day. The service from the Novotel Nusa Dua staff was sensational, and as for value for money...what can I say.
I guess the one thing that could be improved on, is the arrangements with the airport transfers, and ensuring that the Novotel are aware, when the rental costs include the transfers.
If we do come back to Bali, I know where I'm staying. -

We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff at the resort were so helpful, especially our personal contact person Rika. She cared for all our needs. The penthouse was roomy and very nicely decorated, so much nicer than a single room, we could entertain our family with great comfort. The washer was a great help, too!
Anyone with small children would love the programs in this resort for the kids, also any age would enjoy there stay here. -

The accomodation was very family friendly and 5 star level. The bedrooms and bathrooms were amazing!!! The resort was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. From the moment we arrived at the airport, it was clear this was going to be a holiday to remember (for all the right reasons)
We were travelling with our 2 young children - 5yo & 3yo; and after the late night flight all we wanted was to arrive at our accommodation stress free; without crying kids!! Cheers to Gede for this, he was waiting patiently and whisked us off to the hotel straight away. Our hotel check in was warm and welcoming; and all the staff at the Novotel continued this friendliness the whole trip. My children loved nothing more than 'learning the language' with the staff at breakfast. Rika remained in contact with us the entire stay which was wonderful; this ensured that if you needed anything it was taken care of.
There is nothing I can fault about the Ruby Penthouse or the Novotel Nusa Dua.
After 15 trips to Bali, I would happy recommend this accommodation to anyone travelling there ... especially anyone with a young family. It was perfect.

Due to the volcanic eruptions in Indonesia our flights were cancelled which left us stranded with no means to get to Bali. Alex was honest, loyal and trustworthy! He sympathised with our situation and provided a full refund of our accommodation deposit. Alex was excellent and prompt with replying to emails and was very accommodating to a cot and high chair as we would have been travelling with our 13 month old toddler.

Nusa Dua is a great location for family holidays. The Novotel is great for the kids with awesome pool and kids club. Staff remember you when you return and are great with the children. Close to the local village for cheap eats and market stalls with the safety, convenience and bonuses of being at a resort. The Ruby penthouse is clean and stylish with all the ammenities a family needs. Staff friendly and helpful. This was our second trip to Novotel Ruby Penthouse this year, we are now planning our next trip for 2011.

We travelled with my sister's family where there were altogether 3 kids. Staying in Ruby Penthhouse was the best arrangement we could have. The 2 couples occupied the 2 bedrooms. The 3 kids had their rollerbeds in the living room and there was still plenty of space around.
The beach was splendid! The kids enjoyed the kids club while we went for the spa. We also tasted some famous yummy local and international food.

We stayed at Ruby Penthouse with our 16month old daughter for one week. The whole process was very easy and communication was fantastic from start to finish. The penthouse is divine, had everything we needed (and more). We really needed a kitchen travelling with our toddler who is a fussy eater so the penthouse was ideal. Alex the owner also organised highchair, cot and car seat for us. The novotell resort is great, good food, fitness centre and private beach which is a real plus in Bali (no hawkers annoying you!). We will definately be planning another trip to bali and ruby penthouse soon.

Myself and my girlfriend recently stayed at Penthouse ruby for 7 days. It was a wonderful break with everything you need for a relaxing break. The apartment sits within the Novotel Nusa Dua and as such uses all of its facilities. For familes the Novotel and the apartment are fantastic. A 2 min bus ride away and you find yourself at the beach, which is gorgeous. The apartment has a large plasma TV and dvd player so you can check that the copy Dvds you purchased down the street work, which was very convenient. On arrival the fridge already contains a selection of drinks which was a nice touch. Alex is in the process of refurbishing the apartment next door and we were lucky enough to get a look, and it looks amazing. Perfect for couples. I would thoroughly recommend this property to any one travelling to Bali who wants to stay in the Nusa Dua area.

This was our families 4th stay in this hotel we have always stayed in privately owned residences and have alway found them wonderful. This was no exception the room was appointed the best as in the choice of furniture inside as well as on the balcony. Having the fresh water filter there was fantastic and so was the washing machine. The unit was very clean and Rika was very helpful, we would highly recommend staying at the penthouse and we will be doing so again I'm sure. thanks again alex.

We were lucky enough to find out about the Ruby Penthouse from a friend and were so impressed by her description that we cancelled our original accommodation in Bali.
By my own admission I am pretty fussy when it comes to a good holiday experience and I can't imagine any accommodation that would have suited us better. The apartment was very clean, spacious, well furnished and in a great location within the hotel. We loved our roomy balcony with great views over the pool.
The apartment is only serviced twice a week but we didn't find this a problem, even with small children (we travelled with our 4 year old son and 6 month old baby). I would never normally dream of doing my own laundry in Bali but the convenience of a washing machine was actually such a plus (particularly with kids!).
The hotel itself was perfect for us with a beautiful pool, shady grounds, terrific kids club, moderately priced spa, good quality food and an on-site mini mart.
I am usually a fan of the big hotel buffet breakfast and although it looked great, we were more than happy with the alternative of the hotel's Pause Cafe. They make great coffee, great pastries and bake bread daily on the premises. It certainly made for a more economical option too. The location of the hotel was great - a short and pleasant walk to the beach (or the scheduled shuttle if you prefer) or a short walk around the corner to a street full of local restaurants and a few souvenir type shops.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Novotel Nusa Dua for making us so welcome and being so attentive to our every need. The service was excellent in every area of the hotel and we can't wait to come back again soon.

We stayed at Ruby Penthouse located inside the Novotel Nusa Dua resort with our two young boys. The Pentouse was very spacious and comfortable. It has a large balcony off the main living area, with a table, chairs and day bed. The main bedroom also has a small balcony, both of which overlooked the pool. Both the beds, in each room, were larger than king size and very comfortable (I am fussy with my mattresses). The penthouse was cleaned twice a week, and had ample kitchen and laundry facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to family and friends. The Novotel grounds and pools are kept immaculate and the breakfast there is good, although we purchased items from the supermarket most days for breakfast and snacks. The staff were always friendly. The on-site day spa was lovely, and there is a shuttle bus every 20 minutes to the beach, which is beautiful. It was a memorable holiday.

We have just returned from a perfect two week holiday at the Novotel.Alex's apartment is large,light-filled and full of every convenience you could imagine.The beds were incredibly comfortable and the airconditioning was always just right.On our previous 6 trips to Bali we have stayed at the Conrad and Intercontinental a number of times each so we were a little nervous staying somewhere new.However, we needn't have been concerned as the Ruby apartment had every 5 star luxury that we had become accustomed to and was in fact far more family friendly. The beach was the nicest and cleanest we had experienced and the food at the hotel was fantastic and comparatively cheap. We found a great massage place a short taxi drive down the road in Tangung Benoa, called Joy Spa. They charged $8 aus an hour and did a great massage every time.Alex, the owner of the apartment was great to deal with by email and gave me every confidence that our holiday would be perfect.

Have been to Bali many times and have always stayed in Seminyak and Ubud... However, Nusa Dua is perfect for families with small children. Area is very safe and roads and pathways are well kept therefore easy to get around with a pram. The Novotel is great hotel that has everything on offer that you would expect. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful, the pools are perfect and the apartment just awesome. The apartment has plenty of room in the bedrooms, bathrooms and living area and the air-conditioning works treat! We didn't tend to eat at the hotel too much, though the food we did have was great... but took a short stroll down the road to the restaurant street which had plenty of choice for all of us.

This was our third stay in the Novotel Nusa Dua but our first time in Penthouse Ruby. The large 2 bedroom apartment is clean, modern and exactly the same as anything the resort has to offer. That is except the price which was considerably cheaper. The only difference is that you self cater for breakfast and the apartment was cleaned and made up just the once in our six day stay. We happily grabbed a few boxes of cereal and made the beds each day to enjoy the savings.
Being towards the end of our stay in Bali the washing machine was a welcome addition. Check-in was smooth via reception although the resort lady looked a little wounded that we wouldn’t partake in daily AUD$50 family breakfast buffet. From experience the buffet is very nice but not AUD$50 nice. They have a bakery on-site called the Pause Café which provides fantastic breakfasts at a fraction of that cost. I had a large scrambled eggs and bacon one morning which set me up for the day.
Near the Pause Café is the rear entrance to the resort. Turn right for 20m and there is a 24hr Circle K convenience store which caters for all your supplies (yes including Bintang). Prices here were comparable with the Hardys Supermarket up the road.
A 3 minute walk takes you to Bualu Village where there is an array of fine little restaurants.
A big thankyou to Rika who phoned then came around not long after our check-in. She fully explained the free internet (computer in master bedroom) which was great to check emails and have a little surf. TV is hooked into the resorts 50 odd channels and the kids (and I) really enjoyed the PS2.
The resort itself is great. Pools are big and beautiful and grounds immaculate. Be sure top take the regular shuttle down to their beach club. The sand is white and we all had a pleasant swim. Yes we will return.

For any body looking if you can get this apartment book it now!!! It was absolutley brilliant. The photos dont give it justice. What you see is what you get. It has everything, playstation for the kids and adults , internet, computer, dvd player, washing machine. I got married at the Novotel and all my guests came back to the room which was very spacious and clean. My children had a ball and were able to play in the room without disturbing us. Alex is easy to deal with and prompt with any enquiries, He called us to make sure everything was okay which was a nice touch. Hotel staff were friendly I dont have a single complaint. Have recommended to all my friends and will definately book again when I go back.

This was the second time I stayed at the Ruby Penthouse@Novotel. It was as wonderful an experience as the first. The apartment is well equipped - there is internet avallabe, DVD machines and satellite TV - and with a great living space if you're with a family, particularly if you're with small children. There is room for them to laze around and for everyone to be very comfortable. This proved useful when it rained on some of the days while we were in Bali.
Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The resident manager was very helpful and always on hand if we needed anything for the apartment.
It was really like having a comfortable apartment/home but in a resort-setting.
The hotel provided all the basic things we needed - nice pool, great kid's club, and a nice beach. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It's quiet but that is Nusa Dua for you.

The apartment was incredible! The pictures and description don't do it justice as it is even better in person. We didn't want to leave, and are already planning a trip back. Alex was friendly, professional, extremely helpful, and patient answering all our questions before our arrival, and during our stay. The apt is large and spacious, clean and has everything you could possibly need. I don't think we will ever stay in a regular hotel room on vacation again. The resort staff was awesome. The pool and grounds are beautiful and the beach club is peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed. A large variety of shops and restaurants are just a short walk, or quick shuttle bus ride away. Very convenient. All in all we rate it 5 stars, and would recommend this penthouse to anyone traveling to Bali. Thanks for everything alex!!!

Amenities: having full access to the gorgeous hotel facilities
was fantastic. The kids loved the pool, etc, and we all loved
the huge breakfasts! Staff at the hotel have clearly been
chosen for their warmth and friendliness, as this was evident

The resort has a beautiful pool with a great deal of shade if needed. The pool bar is nice and the large resturant is light and airy. The apartment we had was just fanastic, very, very spacious and well equipped.There were lots of free daily activities and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nusa dua itself has much to offer and the beaches are superb. I would highly recommend both the resort and the area and carn,t wait to go back again

My husband, 14yo daughter and myself stayed in Penthouse Ruby for the first half of our 2 weeks in Bali.
I found the apartment listed on Trip Advisor with some good reviews and thought I'd give it a shot as we had been searching for an apartment at the Novotel.
My initial email to Alex was answered promptly and with great news, it was available.
Alex's contact in Bali, Rika, was very helpful and organised a driver to pick us from the airport.
We were very impressed when we first walked into the apartment. It was even better than the photos I had seen online. Spacious, clean, modern and luxurious. We immediately felt right at home.
Our daughter loved having a king size bed to herself, and my husband and I loved our master bedroom, which opened onto the bathroom, and had it's own private balcony.
The view from the balcony was fantastic, and there was plenty of room to entertain our friends who we were travelling with. The penthouse was where we could all come and relax at the end of the day.
Our overall experience from the initial contact with Alex, to the end of our stay in the apartment was easy, relaxed and comfortable.
I would recommend the apartment to anyone and everyone, we could not have asked for a better experience.
We will definitely be revisiting Bali, and would definitely come back to the penthouse if is available when we travel next. But I suspect that once more people become aware of how great it is, we might have trouble finding it available when we want it :)

It was a great place to stay, good location, quiet, cosy, well-maintained, clean, comfortable….. definiely better than what is shown in the video. If housekeeping can come alternate day that would be better as the dustbin pile up quite quickly for the 5 of us. Nothing to complain about the penthouse. Everything is the best for us except that no pubs or bars to chill out at night, we have to hire a car to go other area/beaches for dinner, drinks, massage.

We were delighted to find Ruby Penthouse EXACTLY as pictures showed and better than described. Loved the little extras in the kitchen cupboards and bathroom.
Only one suggestion: as towels are not replaced everyday that perhaps 2 per person could be provided on check in, other than that we were totally happy.

We (2 adults & 2 young kids aged 3 & 1) recently spent 10 nights in the Ruby Penthouse. It was beyond our expectations and everything was provided for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The booking went smoothly from day 1 with the owner (Alex) always quick to respond to any queries. Once in Bali, the property manager (Rika) and the Novotel staff were always on hand to assist with any queries. There's plenty of affordable restaurant options close by or within the resort. Regular shuttle buses to the beach to enjoy a massage, or swim in the massive Novotel pool. I'd have no hesitation recommending the Ruby Penthouse to either families or couples wanting a comfortable, relaxing stay in Bali.

Overall, the whole experience of making the reservations, having my queries attended to, and the stay itself, was more than satisfactory.
Alex was extremely prompt to answer questions I had regarding the accommodation, transfer etc. and he also made sure that I had a hassle free stay. Rika (his representative in Bali) was just as helpful, and make the trip a relaxing one.
The penthouse is extremely spacious, with everything you will possibly need, and much much more. We had a very comfortable stay there, and my 3 young children had ample space to run around the apartment.
Novotel Nusa Dua is an excellent choice of accommodation, especially if you have young children. They facilities are very family friendly, with a great Kids' Club and a fantastic spa. If you choose not to eat breakfast at the restaurant, you could always buy very good pastries from Pause Cafe, and grab a cup of latte (which was exactly what we did on most mornings) - all for about $3 per person. What better way can you start your morning? :)
Although the hotel is not situated directly in front of the beach, the 3 minute shuttle (which you can take at 20 minute intervals) there is an enjoyable experience. The private beach for Novotel guests is perhaps the cleanest and nicest along the whole Nusa Dua stretch.
Overall, I really enjoyed the whole trip... I had planned to explore beyond Nusa Dua but decided against it as my family and I found plenty for us to do in the resort itself. Anyway, being our 6th visit to Bali, we didn't really feel the need to do all the other touristy things.
We will definitely be back!

We stayed in Penthouse Ruby in Feb 2010, from the beginning Alex was accommodting and easy to deal with. The apartment exceeded our expectation, it was very large and clean, which made it easy to spread out and relax. Being self contained made it ideal for us as a family, we could choose whether to eat in or go out.
The local restaurants were good and staff both in the local area as well as the resort were friendly and accommodating.

I and my family stayed in the apartment for 4 nights. We all love the apartment feel so like at home. With great pool view and fully equip kitchen, where we can cook some simple meals. Wide range of TV channels you can watch just look at the pictures nicely décor with comfortable furniture.

February 2010. In the past we stayed in one of the larger resorts in Nusa Dua,
but on this trip we were happy to discover that the apartment and the Novotel
resort were perfect for our needs, now that we have a baby. The apartment
was well appointed and even had a baby cot for our 4 month old. We spent

I found Alex's apartment from Tripadvisor. The apartment is actually located inside Novotel Nusa Dua. My family and I can enjoy all hotel facilities. The apartment is spacious and all amenities are in good order. The complimentary WIFI internet connection is good. The kids club is safe and clean with free activities. I have left my children there for a whole day which they can enjoy different activities. In short, Alex's apartment will be a great choice especially for those who are travelling with children.

Very comfortable, clean and well set-up apartment in the Novotel, Nasa Dua for a relaxing and peaceful holiday; read a few books, watch a few movies and check out the many TV channels available on the large screen TV. Loved the size and layout of main bedroom and bathroom, that said the whole apartment is biggg. Unwind in a sun bed at the large hotel pool or beach, with great service from the Novotel staff. Hotel not on beach, but a short walk or free shuttle bus along golf course to the Beach Club. This beach was the best we encountered at this time of year from Seminyak through to Benoa. There are great little restaurants, shops etc in local street just around the corner from the hotel; meal and a few beers for around 300,000 rup. If a larger food shop is required, grab a local cab and for about a 20,000 rup fare head to Hardy's Supermarket to get everything you might need (milk, bread, meat, vegies, fruit, beer etc)at local Bali prices. Buy a large water bottle to use in water cooler in apartment. A couple of things that could be improved are in regard to the kitchen. All the knives were very blunt so a sharpner or steel would be useful, and a larger frypan or wok would make life a lot easier in being able to prepare a meal for 4 instead of 4 meals in the small frypan. Apart from these minor issues the rest of the apartment and holiday was great.
We would recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a holiday somewhere between the hectic pace of Kuta, and the comatose and insulated atmosphere of the big hotels of Nusa Dua.Response from Alex Riva - 02/21/2010

The apartment is very well appointed and extremely spacious, which provided a great base for our holiday experience. As two couples, it was a great way to spend time together yet still have your own space. The owner of the apartment Alex Riva, is also very easy to deal with - so no hassles with booking etc.
Nusa Dua is a great place to stay and there are some excellent restaurants within walking distance as well as short taxi rides - and also a lot of restaurants provide free pickup/return.

The room was perfect for our family of 5. Equipped with everything we needed and withing walking distance to beach, local village and Bali Collection shopping area. Kids club was well organised and the kids looked forward to spending time there - much to our surprise as we hoped to show them more of bali and the culture. The kids club provided cooking classes, balinese cultural activities and lunch could be ordered. Next time we go I think I will be less concerned and just let the kids have a great time in the kids club so that hubby and I can spend more leisure time together. The pool at the resort was great, very big with various areas for kids and adults to lounge and play. The Ruby penthouse is spacious, nicely furnished and has all the mod cons you need if you prefer to eat in. We had room service brekkie on the large balcony a number of times.

The Penthouse Ruby at the Novotel Nusa Dua is the perfect place for a family holiday. The apartment itself has everything AND MORE you need for a luxurious and relaxing stay. There are 2 huge bedrooms, both with large televisions, as well as a spacious living area that has a plasma and dvd player. There is a well equipped kitchen with a huge fridge that comes in handy when holidaying with small children!!! The main bathroom is AMAZING!!!There is also a second bathroom for the kids! The apartment is on the 5th floor with an awesome balcony overlooking the pool and the Nusa Dua hills.
The resort is not too big which I like. The staff are fantastic!!! My children absolutely loved the kids club - the best in Bali!! The gym is lovely and new with plenty of cardio equipment and has great airconditioning! The pool is the perfect temperature. Room service and poolside food with very tasty and reasonably priced!
We have stayed in many hotels in Bali over the years but this is the only accommodation we have come back to twice and I am in the process of booking it a third time!!! AMAZING!!!!!!! Alex is very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.

My husband, two young children and I recently stayed at the Penthouse Ruby at Novotel Nusa Dua. I would highly recommend the penthouse to couples and people with children as the penthouse is extremely spacious,luxurious and very reasonably priced. All the rooms are very large with quality fittings and we found the beds and day lounges in the living room extremely comfortable and the bathroooms fit for a king. We really appreciated having a such a lovely unit, including a fully equipped kitchen and a full size fridge, for when the children were too tired to go out and we were all quite happy to spend afternoons watching DVDs, reading or relaxing in air conditioned comfort. No risk of developing claustrophobia here! We found the Novotel itself to be terrific. The pool is very spacious and well maintained and believe it or not never very busy and we never had any problem at any time of the day or night in getting a lounger or cabana. Our children went to the kids club on two occasions and they enjoyed it there very much. The ladies there were very welcoming and made extra effort to include them in activities. All of the staff that we encountered at the hotel were very pleasant and courteous. Nusa Dua is a very quiet and safe place to stay. Although it is away from the main drag of Kuta (25 mins) it is very easy and cheap enough to get anywhere on the island if you wish. Just outside the hotel gates there are many drivers offering to take you anywhere at very reasonable rates, so transport is never a problem. In fact, there is a free shuttle bus to the Bali Collection Shopping Centre and to the beach from the hotel at regular intervals (although both are within walking distance). The beach at Nusa Dua is really lovely and very much like the beaches in Perth. There are also many restaurants etc with very reasonable prices only a five minute walk from the hotel. Everything was superb and we have already rebooked with Alex again for our holiday next year.

Novotel Nusa Dua is one of the newest hotels in the area and also the only one with apartments. We loved having the flexibility of hotel dining, local restaurants/cafes, or cooking at home. The apartment is bright, has everything you could need, and overlooks the pool which is beautiful. Although the hotel isn't on the beach, the 2.28min bus ride was so fun for our kids. The beach is safe for swimming and much nicer than some of the others in the Nusa Dua area. I loved the spa treatments (great value right now because the Aussie dollar is worth so much), the kids loved the pool, and my husband hired a bike or snorkelled every day for his time out. We will definitely return!

Hotel service was superb with hepful and joyful staff ready to help. They are all out to please. The complex is well located with a giantic pool.
The apartment is very comfortable and homely with many facilities available and the numerous LCD screens. Equipped with washing machine. Complete with Wi-Fi facility
The bath is spacious with long bath and separate shower room, however, bathing is a challenge as it return to "jungle bath", i.e. sans soap. Recommend to BYO.

My family of five stayed at the Penthouse Ruby in September for ten nights. We had a fantastic time! The apartment was spacious, modern and clean. The bedrooms were large, even after a rollaway bed for my youngest was added to one of the rooms. The main balcony included both a sunlounge and a day-bed... perfect for wasting a couple of hours! It really is a great apartment for a family. I was initially concerned about booking direct (having never made a booking this way before) but Alex made the process very easy and was a pleasure to deal with. Loved it so much that we've already booked our return for next year!

We were very impressed with the apartment and the Novotel. The apartment was luxurios,spacious and very well equipped. The kitchen has all that you need to prepare meals if you wish. We supplied our own b'fast- after visiting the supermarket. The bedrooms are spacious and 3 TV's was a luxury. As well as playstation and DVD. Had to drag the kids out of the apartment at times. Lovely balcony with table, chairs and comfy bed.
Enjoyed the pool and other facilities of the Novotel. Location is great,as it is close (5 minute walk) to a strip of restaurants that were affordable and had great food.

September 2009, saya & keluarga mencoba menginap di Apartment Penthouse Novotel Nusa Dua ini. Memang sangat luar biasa, terdiri atas 2 kamar tidur yg cukup luas, 2 kmr mandi dgn bath-tub & shower air panas, ruang tamu yg nyaman, TV LCD ukuran besar + DVD serta dapur dilengkapi dgn kulkas, kompor listrik & water dispenser. View di teras menghadap kolam renang. Kita jg dapat menggunakan fasilitas hotel seperti kolam renang, ruang bermain anak, fitness center, dll. Kesimpulannya, dengan harga relatif terjangkau, sudah pasti kami akan menginap kembali disini apabila berlibur ke Bali.

Estuvimos 3 noches en este lugar durante un corto viaje a Bali.
La recepcion fue expedita y sin problemas. Debo destacar que el personal del hotel fue muy amable en todo momento.
La sorpresa fue grande cuando confirmamos el lugar era tal y como se mostraba en las fotos (algo que normalmente no sucede!). Los dormitorios eran muy amplios y comodos. Lo mismo para los banos. El balcon era espectacular, amplio y comfortable. En realidad el apartamento es genial para dos parejas. Tiene todo lo que necesitas.
Tambien tuvimos un temblor!. M5.8 grados frente a Nusa Dua. Fue a las 7AM asi que despertamos con un gran susto. El piso (5to nivel) se movio como no pueden imaginar pero no paso nada.
Sobre la comida: Llegamos cerca de la media noche, aun asi fue posible conseguir una buena comida en el hotel. Al principio estabamos preocupados por el famoso 'Bali Belly' (enfermedades estomacales por comidas mal manipuladas o alimentos contaminados... algo tan comun en Bali), pero algo muy importante es que nunca tuvimos problemas comiendo en el hotel. Ni siquiera con el hielo o las ensaladas. Los precios son bastante razonables y la comida esta bien. Lo mejor del hotel para nosotros fue la pasteleria de influencia francesa del hotel, era realmente destacable! Soliamos tomar desayuno en este lugar. Creo que es mucho mas conveniente y de mejor calidad que el desayuno buffet del hotel.
El hotel esta ubicado en un complejo de resorts con entrada 'segura'. Quiero decir que todos los autos que entran en Nusa Dua son controlados, aunque no me queda tan claro que tanta seguridad puede dar eso. En fin, ciertamente parece ser mas seguro que el resto de la isla.
Las playas del lugar creo deben ser las mejores de la isla. Notese que el hotel no queda junto a la playa, pero se puede acceder a estar a traves de un transfer gratis proporcionado por el hotel o caminando 15 minutos. Aun asi, la piscina nunca estaba llena y era un lugar bastante comodo para descansar. Recomiendo esa alternativa -

Booking first time could of been a bit easier but second time around I sure it would be be smoother as I know the person is true & legit.

I stayed in Penthouse Ruby for one month during August with my wife and 2 daughters (6.5 and 4.5 years old). There is a lot of space inside the apartment and it's very comfortable and clean. There are two bedrooms (bed linen changes twice a week), two bathrooms, a living room and a small kitchen area, so everything wich is necessary to spend a long holiday with small kids. The Novotel is a small and cosy resort where everything is near. Hotel's restaurant or pool is only two minutes walk. The hotel's infrustructure such as spa (my wife spent a lot of time there and she's really recommend it!), kids club or room service is available for the guests.
Beach club is on 10-12 minutes walk or 3 minutes by hotel's shuttle bus. Beach is cosy and clean. It's pleasant to walk on the sand along the coast also.
There are many restaurants in 5 minutes walk outside the wall of Nusa Dua in the nearest street and in Bali Collection shopping centre which is on 10-12 minutes walk.
I can really recommend this place for the holiday.

The Penthouse Ruby Nusa Dua was a terrific place for our family, very reasonably priced and a great location. The Novatel resort had everything we needed for a great family holiday. I would highly recommend anyone interested in staying in Nusa Dua with their family to try and book the Penthouse Ruby Nusa Dua.

Einmal im Web gefunden und wir verliebten uns in das Ruby Penthouse.
Die Buchung des Penthouses verlief reibungslos, jede Frage wurde von Herrn Riva persönlich beantwortet, was wir als sehr angenehm empfunden haben.
Unsere Ankunft im Novotel (wo sich das Penthouse befindet),war wie erwartet bezaubernd.
Das Hotelpersonal empfing uns sehr freundlich und begleitete uns in das Apartement.Unser neues Heim (für 16 Tage) übertraf unsere Vorstellung,vor allem der Einrichtungsstil.
Das Novotel selbst ist eine moderne, neue Anlage das vom Massentourismus weit entfernt ist.Das Hotel eigene Restaurant zaubert sehr gutes Essen, wer jedoch auch mal wo anders essen möchte,hat jede Menge Möglichkeiten in der Nähe (Taxifahren in Bali ist günstig).Zudem sind Einkaufmöglichkeiten schnell erreicht,so dass Mann/Frau auch selbst mal kochen kann.
Alles in Allem,war es ein sehr gelungener Urlaub, wir erinnern uns sehr gerne daran zurück und mit Sicherheit wird uns die Insel der Götter und Möglicherweise auch das Ruby Penthouse bald wiedersehen.

We were 3 people staying in this apartment for about a week, and all that can be said about the apartment itself is all positive. Two big, wonderful bedrooms with balcony with a view, two likewise wonderful bathrooms, big livingroom with tv, stereo, and kitchen with all amentities needed for cooking. It is situated at the Novotel Resort in the Nusa Dua area, close to a beach great for swimming. (But not so much surfing...which is a good thing since you dont have the "cool" hippie surfers which you will find too many of up the coast of Kuta.)The resort is well held, has a decent restaurant and friendly staff. Shopping mall is a few hundred meters away from the resort, and taxis to the city (Denpasar, Kuta area etc) is fast and cheap. Bali is a wonderful island, and staying in Nusa Dua will make the most of your stay here. Cars can be hired to drive to any other area of the island at low cost.
About the booking : the penthouse apartment was booked through a booking service company, after where you then get in contact with the owner. We had many inquries about Bali and the apartment itself (it was our first stay at Bali), and fortunately the owner was a man of great service and politeness, he gave us solid and frequent feedback.

There are a number of real advantages to chosing to stay at Ruby:
1. Security and Safety - you can be secure in the knowledge that you are not only in the nusa dua area which is more effectively monitored and police but also within a resort complex which has 24 hour security.
2. Comfort - the apartment is spacious, tastefully decorated and has all the amentity you could wish for. Two large sized bedrooms, two big bathrooms, even a washing machine which once you get the hang of, gives you independence as you can simply hang your clothes out and in a few hours it's dry! Kitchen facilities, fridge, tv, dvd and computer facilities all add to the convenience.
3. Resort life - you have the benefit of the resort facilities and yet you are not tied to it. I happily used the well equipped gym daily, there's a kids centre too and a spa. I was thankful not to be tempted daily by a buffet breakfast but if you prefer, you can arrange to have breakfasts at the hotel too at a price. The staff are friendly in typical balinese fashion and the pool is sensational.
It all depends what you want for your holiday. If you want to be eating pizza at Trattoria every night and having breakfast at Kudeta at Seminyak, this is not the logical choice. Logistically you're further away from the night club action... But, if you want to relax, get fit, laze by the pool, swim in the sea, in more relaxed, quiet surroundings, this is it.
In summary, we loved it! I have been twice: August and January. First time I came with my mum and 15 month old and second time just my 2 and a bit year old boy and myself. It was so convenient!
It's also not one of those places where you pay and then you are left without anyone to contact if anything comes up. Alex is always concerned and checks in to see how your stay is going. He also has a long time friend Pak Wayan who is on the ground ready to help out when you need.

As a family of three we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was very well set out - 2 beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Ideal for a family or 2 couples travelling together to get that extra space.
The resort itself was great - beautiful pool area and we ate breakfast every day in the restaurant which was great (although extremely busy at the time) and had lunches there as well.
Of an evening a short walk away there was a choice of some great restaurants.
The private beach which you went to on a small bus (only mins away) was absolutely beautiful. Very secluded and with a great bar where you could grab a drink or snack.
I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay in the nusa dua area. Great value and heaps of space. Nice to be able to sit and have some time out and watch a dvd instead of being confined to a small hotel room.

Penthouse Ruby is a huge 2 bedroom apartment in the Novotel Resort in Nusa Dua. I have stayed at the resort 3 times and it is my favourite place to stay in Bali due to its reasonable prices, great location and friendly staff.

We have just spent 5 weeks in Bali staying at Penthouse Ruby in Nusa Dua. I can only describe this trip as a holiday in paradise. After busy days of driving through traffic and working our way through the crowds in Kuta and Ubud, it was a welcome relief to return to the serene atmosphere of the Novotel in Nusa Dua. The 2 bedroom apartment that we rented was a great home away from home, and the facilities and staff at the Novotel were fantastic!
If you are looking for a place in Bali where you can access all the action but escape the madness when you choose to, then Penthouse Ruby in the Novotel Nusa Dua is the ideal choice. We will definitely return for another great vacation in Bali.Response from Alex Riva - 07/24/2009

We spent 10 days holiday in Novotel Nusa Dua and loved it. The resort was great, filled with activities and our 9 months old baby enjoyed the resort as much as her parents. The pool at the resort was huge and we also loved the beach. The hotel staff was also very helpful.
The apartment was more than we expected. It was spacious and furnished with style. We also appreciated that it was very clean and totally equipped. There was a large balcony in the apartment where you could see the pool area. It was also nicely furnished.

We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. It was spotless, very spacious and well appointed. The layout offers good privacy for adults and children or 2 couples holidaying together. There is a very large main bedroom, good sized second bedroom, both with full bathrooms, and very comfortable living/dining areas. There are 3 TVs so no fights over programs, as well as internet access. The huge balcony is fabulous.
Whilst the resort is much like any five star resort, the pool is absolutley enormous with great poolside furniture and the staff are very helpful.
The owner was also very helpful prior to our visits and there was a local person available to deal with any problems during our stay - although we didn't experience any.
I would recommend the apartment to anyone with children wanting a relaxing child friendly environment without sacrificing adult luxury. It is also a great apartment for 2 couples.Response from Alex Riva - 07/27/2009

The Penthouse was just perfect. We had a large family travel to Bali for Christmas and the penthouse and hotel offered us all that we needed with flexibility of haveing own space, cooking facilities as well as all the hotel facilities. We are already looking at our next trip back.
The penthouse was also beautifuly furnished giving us a realy Bali feel and experience.

our time there. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We found

a in.We stayed at the hotel for nine nights and did not want to leave when it
was time to go home. We hope that we can return again soon and would highly

The Penthouse Ruby room had absolutely everything we needed, and more. The room is a good mix of Balinese and modern styling. The bathrooms were amazing, massive bath, big shower, and a washing machine if you needed it.
The service we received from Alex, and the Novotel staff was top notch - you can tell that Alex has a hotelier background.
The kitchen was nice, the fridge was big enough, and the lounges were extra comfortable. The view over the pool and restaurant was also great. It was nice just sitting on the balcony drinking Bintangs at night, soaking up the atmosphere.
As for the actual hotel, the restaurant is great, service can't get any better, the beach is among the best I've seen (and I'm a surfer), and the location is just far away enough to be removed from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Bali - but close enough if you're after a bit of action.
I will definitely be staying here again - and have recommended Alex's room to my family and friends.
PS. on rainy days, there is a PS2 in the cupboard under the plasma/lcd tv! -
